Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 7 through October 14, 2021
MVA- On Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 7:03 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the area of Manchester Avenue and Grove Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole. Investigation at the scene revealed a Honda Pilot was traveling northbound on Manchester Avenue. During this time, the vehicle crossed the center line, entered the southbound lane and collided with a utility pole. The pole was broken in half causing the road to be shut down for several hours. Arrest- On Friday, October 8, 2021, at 4:08 a.m., Officer Joseph Pandorf was traveling on Beach Boulevard and made contact with several pedestrians. During the interaction, Officer Pandorf discovered that one of the pedestrians caused damage at several nearby residences by kicking mailboxes and garbage cans. Gerard O’Connor, 19, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. He was released on his own recognizance. Burglary- On Friday, October 8, 2021, at 9:53 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari and Nyeem Calhoun were dispatched to 121 Route 9 South in reference to a burglary. Officers Investigate Carjacking- October 11, 2021
On Sunday, October 10, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Officers Michael Hyle and Scott Keefe responded to the area of Lacey Road and Arlington Avenue for a report of a vehicle left in the middle of the road. The vehicle was described as a white BMW SUV with extensive damage and no one around it. Officers discovered that the BMW was reported stolen from Muttonville, New York. A witness described that two male subjects exited the BMW and approached him for help. The witness felt unsafe and drove away without further contact. While officers were investigating the first incident, Officer Patrick Watkins was flagged down in the parking lot of Wawa, 800 Lacey Road, by a subject claiming that her vehicle was just stolen. Investigation at the scene discovered that two subjects came upon an adult male who was sitting in his Lincoln MKZ in the Wawa lot. One of the suspects demanded that the male exit his car and began pulling at his shirt from the open window. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Alamo GA Police Officer Ambushed During His First Shift- October 11, 2021
On Saturday morning, October 9, 2021. at approximately 1:00 A.M. , 26-year old Police Officer Dylan Harrison was shot and killed outside of the Alamo Georgia Police Department in an ambush style attack that was committed in retaliation for an arrest he made earlier during his shift. After the ambush, the suspect fled, but has since been apprehended and charged with Officer Harrison’s murder. Officer Dylan Harrison is survived by his wife and 6-month-old son. Our sincerest thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of Officer Dylan Harrison.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 23 through June 30, 2022
Warrant Arrest- On Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 7:06 a.m., Officer Ricciardella was flagged down by a concerned citizen regarding a suspicious person. The citizen advised Officer Ricciardella a male with no shirt was acting strange and yelling at traffic in the area of Lacey Road and Lake Barnegat Drive. Officer Ricciardella later located David Bell, 28, of 314 Harzold Road, in the area. David was later found to have an outstanding “no bail” warrant originating out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. David was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without further incident. Motor Vehicle Burglary/Theft- On Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 8:10 a.m., Officer Abrecht responded to the 500 block of Daytona Road for a report of a motor vehicle burglary and theft. Upon arrival Officer Abrecht met with the victim who reported their surveillance camera captured an unknown vehicle park in front of their residence. The video shows two unknown actors approach their vehicles and enter them. The victim reported multiple items were stolen from their vehicles. The estimated value in stolen property was $2,300.00. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 16 through June 23, 2022
Fraud- On Friday, June 17, 2022, at 10:21 a.m., Officer Slota responded to police headquarters for a fraud report. Officer Slota met with the victim who stated they befriended a man several years ago, while on a social media website. The victim stated the suspect identified himself a member of the military, stationed in Afghanistan. The victim stated over a period of time, they sent approximately $100,000.00 to the unknown subject. The victim stated they sent the money using pre-paid cards and bitcoin. It was not until recently that the victim realize it was a scam. Shoplifting- On Friday, June 17, 2022, at 5:15 p.m., Officer Hyle responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival officers met with the associate manager who advised officers that Michael Mennicucci, 36, of Bayville, NJ, attempted to steal $30.86 worth of merchandise from the store. Michael was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters, where he was processed. Michael was charged with shoplifting and was later transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 9 through June 16, 2022
DWI- On Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10:28 p.m., Officer Emmett conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Bay Habour Motor Lodge, for failure to maintain lane. Officer Emmett met with the driver, Lisa Bader, 55, of Trenton, NJ. Investigation at the scene revealed that Lisa was driving while intoxicated. Lisa was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters, where she was processed. Lisa was issued several motor vehicle summonses including DWI and Reckless Driving. Lisa was served her copies of the traffic summonses and released in accordance to John’s Law. Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant Arrest- On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 12:47 p.m., Sergeant Nick conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of 639 Lacey Rd. The driver, Scott Peters, 21, of New Egypt, NJ, was found to have a suspended driver’s license and an active $550.00 warrant out of North Hanover. Scott was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Scott was issued traffic summonses for Unsafe Lane Change and Driving While Suspended then released on his own recognizance.
