Drug Possession in Bud Mezera Park (Arrest) – On Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 12:29 a.m., Officer Alan Abrecht was on patrol when he noticed three male subjects sleeping on the playground equipment at Bud Mezera Park on Lakeside Drive South in Forked River. One of the subjects, 20-year-old Jacob Barney of Spruce Street in Forked River, had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Two of the warrants were out of the Lacey Township Municial Court in the amount of $1,000 each, and the other warrant was out of the Ocean County Sherriff’s Department in the amount of $532. A search of Jacob Barney after his arrest uncovered four hypodermic syringes, two glassine wax folds containing heroin, a small plastic bag containing cocaine, and a glass smoking device containing burnt marijuana. Jacob Barney charged with Possession of CDS and Paraphernalia. He was processed at police headquarters then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of additional bail set at $10,000.
