Burglary of a Residence – [Please Share this Post] On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 4:26 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the 1700 Block of Fleetwood Drive in Forked River for a report of a burglary to a residence. Upon arrival, Officer Simonson met with the homeowner who stated that between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. an unknown person or persons forced entry into his residence by prying open a rear window. Once inside the residence, the person or persons stole a safe containing bonds. In addition, approximately $5,000 worth of jewelry was stolen. Detective Brian Flynn along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit (CIU) and a K-9 Unit arrived on scene to continue the investigation.
