Car Burglary - A resident of Wood Avenue in Forked River reported that on Sunday, April 14, 2013, an unknown male entered the her vehicle and stole a handicap placard. A neighbor reported that earlier in the morning, a white male who appeared to be in his late 20's was observed on a bicycle in the driveway looking in the vehicle. Burglary of Residence - On Friday, April 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., a resident of Center Street in Forked RIver (Northern Pines Area) reported that sometime between 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, an unknown subject or subjects entered his unoccupied residence through an unlocked door. Once inside, they stole his laptop computer, a GPS unit, and silver coins.

UPDATE - Patrol Officers George Resetar and Andrew Slota have prepared and served three complaint warrants against 32 year-old Nicholas Fisher of Toms River for the recent thefts of flat screen TVs from the Lacey Walmart (previous Crime Alert posting). Nicholas Fisher's total bail was set at $25,000. Officers Resetar and A. Slota conducted the investigation with the assistance of Detective Ronald Buxton. Nicholas Fisher was charged with three separate incidents of theft totaling $1,312 worth of stolen property.

Theft - On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, a homeowner reported that between March 9, 2013 and April 9, 2013, unknown actor(s) stole the A/C compressor from the side of a home located on Taylor Lane in Forked River. The house is used only during the summer months and was vacant during the time period.  The estimated value of the stolen compressor is $450.

Credit Card Fraud - On Monday, April 8, 2013, a resident of Bayville reported credit card fraud that was facilitated in Lacey Township. The report involved the apparent use of personal identifiers to access the victim's store credit card account to purchase thousands of dollars in gift cards from that same store over the course of a month. Illegal Dumping - On Thursday, April 4, 2013, the police department was advised of illegal dumping of debris along the undeveloped portion of the rail trail that runs parallel to Taylor Lane in Forked River.  Residents are encouraged to report any vehicles they observe entering dirt roads and wooded areas with visible debris/garbage showing.

Drug Paraphernalia - At 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, a resident contacted the police department after finding three syringes in Huffy Wallis Park. The syringes were confiscated by the police department.

Theft from Home - A resident of Nautilus Boulevard reported that sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, the resident returned home and found that unknown subject(s) stole two jewelry boxes containing jewelry and cash. There was no evidence of forced entry into the home.  

Burglary of a Vacant Residence - On Tuesday, April 2, 2013, an owner of a residence on the 700 block of Nautilus Blvd., Forked River, reported finding that the vacant residence had been entered during the prior weeks. The homeowner reported that unknown subject(s) removed several appliances -- including the washer, dryer, and stove with a total value of $1000.
