Neighborhood Crime Alert (Theft) – Tuesday, May 7, 2013 – Parkside Drive, Forked River (Pines Area)

Theft of Cash & Medications - A resident of Parkside Drive in Forked River reported the theft of $160.00 in cash from her home as well as two bottles of medication consisting of Morphine and Methadone valued at $50.00 each. There was no forced entry to the residence and the possibility exists that one of the varied guests at the residence may have stolen the items.

Traffic Alert – Sunday, May 5, 2013 – Rt. 9 North of Lacey Road (Near Game Farm)

Traffic Delay - Due to a traffic accident on Route 9 in Forked River, there will be delays and temporary detours established for the portion of Route 9 from Lacey Road to near the Lacey Mall. Alternate routes should be used where possible. The obstruction is expected to continue from 9 p.m. to at least 11:30 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013.

Criminal Mischief - Between 5:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, residents of Georgetown Lane in Lanoka Harbor reported repeated acts of criminal mischief being committed by at least two teenage males. One of the callers stated she heard the sound of objects hitting the residence and when she looked outside, she observed two teenage males with dark clothing running from the area. Neighborhood Crime Alert – Wednesday, May 1, 2013 – G Street, Forked River (Pines Area)

Theft - On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, a resident of G Street in Forked River reported that in the days prior, an unknown person stole a metal towing assembly (receiver) that was positioned on the bed a trailer parked adjacent to the his residence. The victim identified a Chevrolet Suburban that was seen in the area with "scrap" metal in the back of the suspect vehicle during the period the towing assembly was stolen. The matter is currently under investigation.

On Monday morning, April 29, 2013, at 9:13 a.m., a significant portion of Lacey Township experienced a temporary power outage coinciding with a voltage regulator failing along Rt. 9 in the JCP&L switch yard adjacent to the power plant property. Several traffic lights were out as well as power to the High School, Mill Pond School, and the Cedar Creek School.
