Neighborhood Crime Alert – Tuesday, June 11, 2013 – 600 Block of Beach Boulevard

Burglary of Residence - On Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 11 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to a residence located on the 600 block of Beach Boulevard in Forked River concerning a burglary of a residence. The resident reported leaving that the home was unoccupied for approximately six hours. Upon returning home, she discovered that the residence was forcibly entered. Items stolen from the residence included: Apple iPad 2 (value $800) and an Xbox Controller (value $25).

Traffic Alert – Monday, June 10, 2013 – Route 9 from Bay Way to Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor

Traffic Alert - The Lacey Township Police Department will be assisting in facilitating the funeral procession for Lanoka Harbor Fire Chief Kevin Perrone on Monday, June 10, 2013. There will be significant traffic delays from approximately 10:00 a.m. through approximately 1:30 p.m. on Route 9 from near Bay Way and the Berkeley border to Haines Street near the Walmart and Good Luck Cemetery. The southbound traffic will experience the greatest  delays. Detours will be set up to help facilitate the flow of traffic when possible.

Traffic Alert: (Friday, June 7, 2013) Due to the heavy volume of rain, both the main and back roads throughout Lacey Township have portions of significant water collection posing a hazard to motorists. Please exercise extreme caution when driving this afternoon and this evening. The hazard will increase as we approach darkness. Please drive with the assumption that each roadway has partially flooded sections which may adversely affect the operation of your vehicle.

Neighborhood Crime Alert – Sunday, June 2, 2013 – Oxgoose Drive, Lanoka Harbor

A resident of Oxgoose Drive in Lanoka Harbor reported that some time between 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, and 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered his vehicle and stole loose change and a portable GPS unit. The vehicle had been parked unsecured in the driveway of the residence during the period in question. Approximately $30 was stolen along with a Garmin GPS unit from the glove compartment. The GPS unit is valued at $700.

Public Advisement – Oyster Creek Siren Testing – Tuesday, June 4th, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.

Residents should be aware that the emergency sirens positioned within a 10 mile radius of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station will be tested at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. This particular activation is required to test the old siren system that is still in place until the new system is approved by FEMA.
