  • Warrant and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 8:09 p.m., Special Officer Travis Horton conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 36-year-old Scott M. Rosanio of Spray Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean Township (Waretown) traffic warrant in the amount of $250. Upon arrest, Scott Rosanio was found to be in possession of Cocaine. Scott Rosanio was transported to police headquarters, processed, charged, and released after posting full bail on the Ocean Township warrant. He was charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine) and released pending a court date. Scott Rosanio received traffic summonses for Driving while Suspended, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Exhibit Proof of Valid Insurance.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 11:13 a.m, Officer Michael Hein conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South near Oak Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 36-year-old Jill A. Valentino of Beach Boulevard in Forked River for an outstanding Toms River Township warrant in the amount of $350. Jill Valentino was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after posting full bail.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 1:41 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Nantucket Road near Palm Beach Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 46-year-old Patricia Burlew of North Shore Drive in Forked River for DUI. Patricia Burlew was transported to police headquarters and processes. Patricia Burlew was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and for Operating an Unregistered Vehicle. The vehicle Patricia Burlew was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • DUI and Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 12:56 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Lacey McDonald’s at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 55-year-old Jeffrey Benner of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jeffrey Benner was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Driving While Suspended, and Failure to Exhibit Documents. During the course of the investigation, a Tinton Falls warrant in the amount of $186.00 was located for Jeffrey Benner. Jeffrey Benner posted full bail on the warrant. The vehicle Jeffrey Benner was driving was impounded pursuant to John’ s Law.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – At 7:12 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, Officer Schaffer received a report from a Forked River resident who reported that someone removed his handicapped placard from inside his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in front of the Walmart entrance in a handicapped parking space. The theft took place while the complainant was inside the store shopping between 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Monday March 10, 2014. Officer Schaffer is furthering the investigation with Walmart security to check the video to attempt to identify a possible suspect. Nothing else was reportedly removed from the vehicle.

  • Criminal Mischief and Trespassing (Township Property) – On Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 9:56 a.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to Clune Park, 740 Sandyhook Drive, Forked River, for criminal mischief. The complainant stated that within the past month, an unknown person or persons damaged the Lacey Little League Field D Tower door and door jam. The damage is estimated at $500. The tower appears to have been entered. At the time of the report, nothing appeared to be stolen from inside.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 1:42 a.m., Officers Robert Duffy and George Resetar responded to a wooded area off of Route 539 near mile marker 17 in Forked River for an assault victim. The investigation revealed that the assault occurred in Barnegat Township. Barnegat Township Police responded to handle the assault. At approximately 2:46 a.m., while returning to the area of mile marker 17, Officer Duffy was speaking with the operator of a motor vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Frank Salintino of Broad Street in Florence, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to his arrest for Underage DUI and Underage Possession of Alcohol. Frank Salintino was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for Underage DUI, Reckless Driving, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Wear Seatbelt. He was also issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for Underage Possession of Alcohol. The vehicle Frank Salintino was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 2:20 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas responded to the Forked River House parking lot located at 121 Route 9 South in Forked River for two males fighting in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of one of the participants, identified as 32-year-old Christopher Peters of Buena Vista Road in Forked River, on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was out of the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Christopher Peters was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting full bail.

  • Theft (Residence) – On Friday, March 8, 2014, at 3:17 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 1400 block of Circle Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The victim stated that on Thursday, March 6, 2014, she observed the air conditioner condenser was stolen from the west side of the residence. The house was a rental and the time of theft is unknown. The theft is valued at $1,000.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 11:07 a.m., Special Officer Kenneth Martin was patrolling the Wawa located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River when he observed a parking violation. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Jessica Quagliozzi of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River on two outstanding warrants. The first warrant was issued out of Lacey Township in the amount of $350 and the second warrant was issued out of Lacey Township and was in the amount of $133. Jessica Quagliozzi was released after posting full bail on both warrants.

  • Theft from a Motor Vehicle – On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 4:34 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue responded to the 1200 block of Cypress Place in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between the overnight hours of March 4th into March 5th, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in her driveway and stole property. The property consisted of medical supplies including a stethoscope, a blood pressure cuff, and bandages, with a total value of $100.

  • Theft from a Motor Vehicle – On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 1:42 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 1300 block of Cypress Street in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 11:30 a.m. on March 4, 2014, and 1:30 p.m. on March 5, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in his driveway and stole loose change with a total value of $24.

  • Theft from a Motor Vehicle – On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 12:43 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 1200 block of Ocean Street in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 5:30 p.m. on March 4, 2014, and 7:45 a.m. on March 5, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole loose change valued at $20.

  • Theft from a Motor Vehicle – On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 11:29 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 1200 block of Spruce Street in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between the overnight hours of March 4th, 2014 into March 5, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle. Although the interior of the vehicle was gone through by the suspect(s) the complainant was unsure if anything was stolen.

  • Drug Possession & Warrant (Arrest) – On Monday, March 3, 2014, at 1:24 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey stopped a vehicle in the Parking Lot of 7-11 located at 524 Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Drew Warthen of 2336 Odyssey Way in Toms River on a $275 Bloomfield Township Municipal Court Traffic warrant. Following the arrest on the warrant, Officer Verwey found Drew Warthen in possession of Marijuana. Drew Warthen was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of Marijuana. Drew Warthen posted bail on the outstanding warrant and was released on a summons awaiting a court date.
  • Mutual Consent Fighting (Formal Charges) – On Saturday, March 2, 2014, at 12:05 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to 1736 Lakeside Drive South in Forked River in reference to theft. Upon arrival, 48-year-old Leah Kern of 1332 Norwood Street in Forked River reported that she came to the Lakeside Drive South residence to confront the resident, 31-year-old Maureen Bart regarding the theft of a puppy. The two apparently engaged in a verbal confrontation which escalated into a physical confrontation. Both parties had signs of injury from the altercation which occurred prior to police arrival. Both parties were issued complaint summonses for mutual consenting fighting. The matter regarding the claim that a puppy was unlawfully taken is still under investigation.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 2, 2014, at 11:37 a.m., Officer Keith Pearce was assisting Officer Simonson on a dispute call at 1736 Lakeside Drive South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Maureen Bart on an active $405 Manchester Township Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on a speeding summons. Maureen Bart was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released on her own recognizance as per the Manchester Township Municipal Court Clerk.

  • Trespass & Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, March 2, 2014, at 12:50 p.m., Lt. Michael DiBella responded to 240 Spruce Lane in reference to a trespassing incident. Debra Schaefer reported that between January 28, 2014 and March 2, 2014, someone forced open the fence gate on her property and made their way to a secured shed in the back yard. The lock to the shed was reportedly removed and the shed was entered. It is unknown if anything was removed from the shed. Damage to the gate and lock is estimated at $100.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 02, 2014, at 1;40 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas and Officer Michael Verwey were on directed drug enforcement patrol when they observed a tan Chevy Cavalier traveling north on Route 9 from Forked River into Lanoka Harbor.  The driver of the vehicle failed to maintain its lane and the vehicle was stopped in the 7-11 parking lot located at 403 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Nicholas Kuzman of Forked River for DUI. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Nicholas Kuzman was transported to Lacey Police Headquarters where he was processed and then released after being issued summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Provisional Driver’s License Violation.

  • Theft from a Boat – On Saturday, March 1, 2014, 5:17 p.m., a boat owner responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report a theft from his boat. The boat owner reported that an unknown person or persons entered his 1987, 37 foot, Silverton boat while it was dry docked at the Lanoka Harbor Marina located on Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor. The rear hatch was forced open causing damage to the lock. Binoculars valued at $300 were reported stolen while the damage to the hatch is estimated at $500.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11:09 p.m., Officer George Resetar arrested 19-year-old Monica Bednarowicz of Avalon Avenue in Barnegat on an outstanding active $164 Toms River Township Municipal Court traffic warrant. The arrest was made during a motor vehicle stop.

  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) -On Friday, February 28, 2014, at 12:57 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to Bay Avenue in Forked River in reference to criminal mischief to an automobile. The vehicle owner reported that between 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014, and 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014, an unknown person or persons poured sugar in her gas tank and cut the brake lines of her 2004, Hyundai Sonata. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

  • Theft & Possession of CDS (Arrests) – On Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 9:52 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to headquarters for a theft report. A resident of 332 Briggs Avenue in Forked River reported that during the morning hours of February 27, 2014, her stepson, 18-year-old Michael Guarini of 332 Briggs Avenue in Forked River, stole her debit card from her purse and illegally withdrew $200 from her account. At approximately 3:00 p.m., Officer Anderson observed a blue Jeep stop in front of 332 Briggs Avenue and observed Michael Guarini get out of the vehicle. Officer Anderson detected the odor of Marijuana while speaking with the occupants of the vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the discovery of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 18-year-old Michael Guarini of 332 Briggs Avenue, 18-year-old Jacob Smith of 112 East Lacey Road, and a 17-year-old juvenile male were arrested for possession of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Guarini was charged with Burglary, Credit Card Theft, Theft of Movable Property, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bail was set for Michael Guarini at $7,500 with no ten percent option. He was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. The juvenile driver was charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The juvenile driver also received traffic summonses for Provisional Driver’s License violation and for having CDS in a Motor Vehicle. Jacob Smith was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on a summons awaiting a court date.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) -On Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 2:50 p.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to the Walmart for an adult female shoplifter. The loss prevention officer reported that 27-year-old Alexis M. Azaceta of 103 Grand Street in Bayville concealed merchandise in her purse and at the bottom of her shopping cart in an attempt to leave the store without paying for the items. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Alexis Azaceta for shoplifting merchandise valued at $235. Alexis Azaceta was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released on a summons.

  • Drug Possession and Warrant (Arrest) -On Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at 6:04 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue observed a male riding his bicycle across Lacey Road near the intersection of Parker Avenue in Forked River. The bicycle had no reflectors and was difficult to see creating a dangerous condition, so Officer Donahue stopped the bicyclist on Parker Avenue. Investigation led to the arrest of 38-year-old Thomas M. Britton of Ocean Gate on an outstanding $31,475 Ocean County warrant. A search incident to the warrant arrest uncovered a hypodermic syringe that was used to inject heroin. Thomas Britton was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of CDS (heroin). Thomas Britton was unable to post bail and was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Tuesday, February 25, 2013, at 11:58 a.m., Special Officer Jesse Urban was working as the court security officer in the Lacey Township Municipal Court, when he was approached by a Lanoka Harbor resident who reported that while she was in court, an unknown person “keyed” the driver side door of her vehicle while it was parked in the Lacey Township Municipal Complex parking lot. The damage is estimated at $1,000.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 9:28 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue was on a directed drug enforcement assignment on Constitution Drive in Forked River in reference to citizen complaints of drug activity in the area. While monitoring activity in the area, Officer Donahue observed a red Jeep Cherokee pass through the stop sign located at the intersection of Independence Drive and Constitution Drive without stopping. The vehicle then stopped at a Constitution Drive residence briefly. Officer Donahue stopped the vehicle and investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 57-year-old Salvatore Abruzzo of 513 Ocean Gate Avenue in Ocean Gate for possession of CDS. Salvatore Abruzzo was found to have Marijuana in his possession as well as another prescription pill bottle containing different types of pills. Salvatore Abruzzo was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of CDS (prescription pills) and possession of Marijuana.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, February 23rd, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue and Officer Scott Keefe responded to the area of Conifer Drive and Greenwood Lane in Forked River in reference to a person using Heroin inside a parked motor vehicle. The caller provided the vehicle registration and vehicle description. The vehicle was described as a black, 2009, Hyundai Santa Fe. As the officers were responding to the area, the caller reported that the vehicle had left the area. The responding officers observed the vehicle at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Route 9 in Forked River. The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection. Upon approaching the side window of the vehicle and speaking with the driver, 26-year-old Justin L. Lilore of 7 Ermine Court in Whiting, Officer Donahue observed a hypodermic syringe and wax folds in the center console cup holder. Two of the wax folds were empty and two contained Heroin. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Justin Lilore. Justin Lilore was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed, charged, and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $10,000 bail after being charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.

UPDATE (Burglary Arrest) – Pan Asia Restaurant, Lakeside Plaza in Forked River – Friday, February 28, 2014

01 - Neighborhood Crime Alert

UPDATE: Burglary (Arrest) – On the morning of February 18, 2014, officers responded to the Pan Asia Restaurant at the Lakeside Plaza, 416 South Main Street in Forked River for a report of an attempted burglary. Upon opening his business, the owner of the Pan Asia Restaurant discovered extensive damage to the rear door of the business and to the interior of an attached mechanical room. It appeared that the damage occurred during the overnight hours. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 51-year-old John Santo of 41 Frederick Drive in Bayville, NJ. John Santo was charged with Burglary as well as $1,800 worth of Criminal Mischief.  John Santo was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

UPDATE (False Report) – Neighborhood Crime Alert – Hollywood Boulevard, Forked River – Friday, February 28, 2014

01 - Neighborhood Crime Alert

UPDATE (False Burglary Report) – On February 14, 2014, officers responded to a Hollywood Boulevard residence in Forked River in reference to a report of a residential burglary. A 17-year-old resident reportedly arrived home during the evening and reported that he observed an unknown male suspect running from the residence. Upon the arrival of the officers, they discovered a large flat screen television missing and a smaller television, originally in a bedroom, placed in the hallway. The juvenile provided a description of the suspect and a “get-away” vehicle. During the investigation, detectives located the stolen television at a second-hand merchandise dealer. The television had been sold on the same day as the burglary but prior to the reported time of the entry. Further investigation revealed that the matter was a false report.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, February 23, 2014, at 12:09 a.m., Officer Robert Duffy and Officer Andrew Slota were assigned to a special drug enforcement detail when they encountered a vehicle at the Cedar Creek Railroad Trestle. The vehicle was occupied by three juvenile females and three adult males. Upon speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the officers detected the odor of Marijuana and observed Marijuana in plain view on the center console of the vehicle. After further investigation, 20-year-old Justian Morales of 503 Knollwood Court in Lanoka Harbor was arrested. Justian Morales was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of Marijuana, and released on a summons pending a court date. The juveniles were released to their parents at the scene.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Sunday, February 23, 2014, at 9:25 a.m., Officer Tsarnas responded to the 1600 block of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River in reference to a theft. The caller reported that an unknown person or persons entered her 2004, Ford Escort and stole a cell phone and wristlet containing $65 in cash, a N.J. driver’s license, and a TD Bank card. She reported that on February 23, 2014, she parked the vehicle at approximately 9:10 p.m. and when she returned to her vehicle approximately 15 minutes later she noticed that the two items were stolen. The vehicle was unlocked and the items that were stolen were on the passenger side seat. The total value of the theft is estimated at $342.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11:40 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas and Officer Michael Verwey were assigned to a directed drug enforcement patrol when they observed a drug transaction between the occupants of two vehicles on Maple Road near Laurel Boulevard. Officer Tsarnas and Officer Verwey followed one of the vehicles into the parking lot of Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 25-year-old Melinda Goetchius of 46 Staysail Court in Bayville, NJ, for possession of CDS (Crack Cocaine). Melinda Goetchius was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released on Criminal Summons pending a future court date. Melinda Goetchius was charged with possession of CDS (Crack Cocaine), possession of Marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Melinda Goetchius was also issued a summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11:46 a.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to the 300 block of Nautilus Boulevard in reference to someone aggressively banging on the door of a residence. The suspect left prior to the arrival of officers, but the caller provided the name of the suspect and the description of the vehicle he was driving. The caller informed officers that the suspect was on his way to 7-11, 403 Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor, to conduct a drug transaction. The suspect vehicle was stopped by officers on Route 9 near Liberty Way in Lanoka Harbor. The driver was identified as 57-year-old Salvatore Abruzzo Jr. of 513 Ocean Gate Avenue in Ocean Gate, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the discovery of Marijuana. Salvatore Abruzzo, Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Police Headquarters. Salvatore Abruzzo, Jr. was charged with possession of Marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Salvatore Abruzzo Jr. was processed and released on a summons pending a court date.

  • Theft – On Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 5:50 p.m., Officer Tsarnas responded to the 200 block of Boox Street in reference to a theft. The caller reported that during the overnight hours an unknown person or persons stole over $1,000 worth of copper piping from the rear yard of his residence.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 9:05 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1400 block of Jay Street in Forked River in reference to criminal mischief. The caller reported that during the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons keyed three of his vehicles which were parked in the driveway of the residence. The damage consisted of vulgar writing, symbols, and numerous deep scratches. The vehicles that were damaged included a 2007 Chevy Cobalt, a 2009 Volkswagen Bug, and a 2007 Honda Accord. The total damage is estimated at $2,000.

  • Dog Bite (Municipal Ordinance) – On Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 3:38 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to 4 Hollywood Boulevard South in Forked River in reference to an ambulance call. Andrea M. Costantini reported that she was walking on the Taylor Lane portion of the Ocean County walking/bicycle path with her 2-year-old son, when she was attacked by two dogs, described as black Labrador Retrievers. During the incident, Andrea Constantini was bitten on her wrist. The dogs were retrieved a short time later by a juvenile who brought the dogs to a residence which backs up to the walking/bicycle path. Andrea Constantini refused medical treatment. Investigation led to the identification of the owner of the dogs, 49-year-old David J. Hupke of Taylor Lane in Forked River. David Hupke was issued a township ordinance violation for unlicensed dogs. Animal control and the Ocean County Health Department were notified and are further investigating the matter.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 11:30 a.m., 25-year-old Jessica Bates of 609 Beach Boulevard in Forked River posted bail at police headquarters on a $1,028 Wall Township failure-to-appear warrant for possession of CDS. Jessica Bates posted full cash bail and is awaiting a new court date.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 8:55 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Route 9 and Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor for a traffic violation. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 25-year-old John R. Knoeller Jr. of 17 Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor on two outstanding traffic warrants – a $350 South Toms River Municipal Court warrant and a $500 Clark Township warrant. John Knoeller Jr. was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and then transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Attempted Burglary & Criminal Mischief (Business) – On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Officer Robert Flynn responded to Pan Asia Restaurant located at 416 Route 9 South in Forked River in reference to an attempted burglary. The owner reported that an unknown person or persons attempted to enter the business between 11:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 and 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. The owner reported that when he opened up the business he observed that the rear door locks had been damaged. Officer Flynn observed that the door knob and deadbolt to the door had been damaged and removed. A 5-gallon bucket filled with tools and a large pipe wrench were found lying on the ground near the door. Access to the business had not been gained. Access was also attempted through an unlocked utility room door. Nothing was reported stolen or missing.
