UPDATE: Robbery Arrest – Lacey Township Police Department – Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Robbery Arrest – At 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, Detective Robert Surtees arrested 18-year-old Alex Marsh of Hollywood Drive in Forked River for the armed robbery committed on Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Country Farm store in the Eric Plaza on Lacey Road in Forked River. The arrest was made by Detective Surtees without resistance at the Marsh residence on Hollywood Drive in Forked River. Alex Marsh was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with Robbery (1st degree), Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose (3rd degree), and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (4th degree). Bail was set by J.S.C. Francis Hodgson at $250,000 with no 10% option. Alex Marsh will be transferred to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail following further forensic processing.

  • Robbery (Business)  – On Monday, March 31, 2014, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the Country Farms store, located at 336 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a robbery. The investigation revealed that a male subject entered the store and confronted the employee with a knife and demanded money. The employee did not provide the money and the suspect soon fled on foot toward Briggs Avenue North in Forked River. The suspect is described as being a white male, in his late teens to early twenties, approximately 5 foot 8, with a stocky build and dark hair. There were no reported injuries. Both the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit and Criminalistics Investigation Unit responded to the scene to assist. As of the time of this release the investigation is on-going.   • Warrant (Arrest) – On Monday, March 31, 2014, at 4:42 p.m., Officer Michael Hein met with 28-year-old Jessica Perez of Tappan Street in Forked River in regard to a motor vehicle incident which occurred earlier. While Officer Hein was investigating the motor vehicle incident, Jessica Perez was found to have an outstanding warrant issued from the Aberdeen Township Municipal Court in the amount of $114. Jessica Perez was arrested on the warrant. She posted full bail and was released.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, March 31, 2014, at 2:28 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a male, juvenile shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male juvenile from Forked River for shoplifting merchandise valued at $508.56. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. The juvenile male was charged on a juvenile complaint with shoplifting and released to the custody of his parent.

  • Criminal Mischief to a Vehicle – On Monday, March 31, 2014, at 12:48 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1600 block of Beverly Road in Forked River for criminal mischief to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 and 7:00 a.m. on March 31, 2014, an unknown person or persons spray-painted the word “Elite” on his vehicle in black spray-paint while it was parked in the driveway of his residence. The cost to remove the paint is estimated at $500.

  • Criminal Mischief to a Residence –  On Monday, March 31, 2014, at 11:09 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1600 block of Joffre Road in Forked River for criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, and 10:45 a.m. on March 31, 2014, an unknown person or persons spray-painted the words “Elite Squad HAA!!!” on the side of his garage in black spray-paint. The cost to remove the paint is estimated at $250.

  • Criminal Mischief to a Vehicle – On Monday, March 31, 2014, at 10:59 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to Municipal Lane in Forked River for criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between Saturday, March 29, 2014, and Monday, March 31, 2014, an unknown person or persons dented the passenger side door of his 2000 International Truck while it was parked in the parking lot. The damage is estimated at $200.

  • DUI with Accident and Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 2:27 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor for a traffic accident with injuries. Upon arrival, officers determined it was a one vehicle accident involving four (4) occupants. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Darren J. MacGillivray Jr. of Forrest Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Stop. The vehicle’s passengers, identified as 20-year-old Thomas A. Prosser of Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor; 18-year-old Gregory J. Fenton of Dugout Drive in Lanoka Harbor; and 18-year-old Miranda L. Holsten of I street in Seaside Park, NJ, were all later charged on a Special Complaint and Summons with Underage Consumption of Alcohol. As a result of the crash, one of the passengers sustained minor injuries and was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment by Lanoka Harbor EMS. The vehicle Darren MacGillivray Jr. was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Fireworks (Formal Charge) – On Friday, March 28, 2014, at 9:33 p.m., Officer Charles May observed fireworks coming from the area of Weehawkin Avenue and Tappan Street in Forked River. Officer May investigated and determined that the fireworks were coming from a residence located on the 700 block of Tappan Street. Officer May met with the homeowner identified as 35-year-old Dean A. MacGillivray, Jr., who was ultimately charged on a Special Complaint and Summons with Possession of Fireworks.

  • Theft by Deception (Arrest) – On Friday, March 28, 2014, at 9:24 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. An investigation revealed that earlier in the day 29-year-old Sara M. Stephens of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor entered the store and removed merchandise and placed it into her shopping cart. Sara Stephens then went to the Customer Service Counter and returned the same merchandise valued at $65. Sara Stephens received a store gift card for the return and left the store. Officer Ewart completed his investigation and responded to the residence of Sara Stephens. Sara Stephens was arrested for theft and transported to police headquarters. She was processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for Theft by Deception.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, March 28, 2014, at 3:28 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to 629 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a traffic accident. Investigation at the scene revealed that one of the drivers, identified as 32-year-old Brittany Bryant of Beverly Beach Road in Brick, NJ, had an outstanding warrant from the Brick Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Brittany Bryant was arrested on the warrant and transported to police headquarters. She was processed and released after posting bail.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, March 28, 2014, at 9:06 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Devon Street near Newark Avenue in Forked River. Officer Anthony Sarno responded to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Michael C. Micliz of Spruce Street in Forked River on an outstanding warrant issued by the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the amount of $240. In addition, the passenger, identified as 24-year-old Janelle Whitfield of Tolerance Court in Toms River, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $50,000 with no 10 percent option. They were both transported to police headquarters. Michael Micliz was processed and released after posting bail. Janelle Whitfield was later turned over to the custody of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department.

  • Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 5:08 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue responded to the 1200 block of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River for a burglary. The complainant reported that between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on March 27, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered her residence and stole jewelry valued at $200 along with a 32 inch LG flat screen television valued at $500. There were no signs of forced entry and the incident is under investigation.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 2:38 p.m., Lieutenant Christopher Kenny, Sergeant Paul Sullivan Jr., and Officer Robert Flynn responded to Auto-Zone, located at 319 Route 9 North in Forked River for a male shoplifter who fled from the store in a vehicle after pushing an employee. A description of the accused along with a description of the vehicle and registration were provided. The vehicle’s registration identified a residence located on the 1300 block of Wickford Lane in Lanoka Harbor. Lt. Kenny and Sgt. Sullivan responded to Auto-Zone while Officer Flynn responded to the residence and located the vehicle. Officer Flynn met with the accused, identified as 35-year-old David Krempa of Wickford Lane in Lanoka Harbor. He was arrested, processed, charged with shoplifting, and released. The incident is under continuing investigation and additional criminal charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 11:01 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South near Station Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 20-year-old Nikki L. Buck of Coral Lane in Manahawkin, NJ, for DUI. Nikki Buck was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Exhibit a Valid Insurance Card. The vehicle Nikki Buck was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Criminal Mischief (Boat) – On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 6:20 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the Lanoka Harbor Marina located at 888 Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor for damage to a boat. The complainant reported that within the prior two week period, an unknown person or persons damaged a window screen and custom blinds on the boat while it was dry-docked at the marina. The complainant reported that there did not appear to be anything missing from the boat. Approximately $300 in damage was caused to a window screen and custom-made blinds. The incident is under investigation.

  • Theft from a Boat – On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 9:20 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the Lanoka Harbor Marina, located at 888 Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor, for a theft. The complainant reported that he received information that on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at approximately 7 p.m., two subjects, possibly juveniles, were observed on his boat that was dry-docked at the marina. The complainant reported that he responded to the marina to check his boat and discovered that four (4) “Ugly Stick” fishing poles valued at $150 each, along with a pair of Binoculars valued at $100 were stolen from the boat. The total theft is estimated at $700. The incident is under investigation.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson conducted a traffic stop on Alpine Street near Newark Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 25-year-old John R. Knoeller Jr., on an outstanding warrant issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the amount of $145. John Knoeller Jr., was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.

  • Fraud – On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 1:37 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to Midnite Towing (Lacey Amoco), 341 Route 9 North in Forked River for a fraud report. The owner reported that prior to contacting this agency, an unknown male contacted the Midnite Towing phone line and identified himself as Tom Jenkins from JCP&L. The male subject advised that Midnite Towing was in default of $489.62 for payment owed for two months of electric service and if it was not paid immediately the service would be turned off. The caller advised the owner to go and get a Green Money-pack in the amount of $400 for immediate payment and provided a phone number to be contacted in order to pay the bill. A claim number was also provided. The owner looked into the incident and learned that his account was in good standing and the incident was a scam. Detective Robert Surtees is conducting the investigation.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 12:22 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Jennine P. Lizer of Predmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise in the amount of $50.14. The shoplifting incident occurred on March 21, 2014. The accused was an employee of Walmart and was confronted by Loss Prevention on March 25, 2014. Jennine Lizer was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.

Robbery – The Lacey Township Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery at the Country Farms store in the Eric Plaza (Lacey Road) which occurred on Monday, March 31, 2014, at approximately 5:15 p.m. The suspect reportedly produced a knife and demanded money. The suspect fled the store on foot after being denied the money. The photo depicts an image of the suspect while fleeing the store.   • Theft from a Motor Vehicle – On Monday, March 24, 2014, at 9:59 p.m., Officers Dimitri Tsarnas and Michael Verwey responded to the 1200 block of Ocean Street in Forked River for a theft from a parked car. The victim reported that she was contacted by her neighbor who observed a male subject go in her vehicle and remove property. The unknown male reportedly ran away with the property. The victim stated that after she was notified, she checked the vehicle and observed that several pieces of property were missing. The property consisted of but was not limited to a pink duffle bag, a digital camera, eyeglasses, and books with a total value of $310. The vehicle was left unlocked and was parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the theft. The description of the suspect was provided as a male, approximately 6 feet tall with shoulder length dark hair wearing dark clothing.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, March 24, 2014, at 11:47 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Clearwater Drive near Biscayne Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 30-year-old Heather M. Schmidt of Wyatt Court in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Due to her high level of intoxication, Heather Schmidt was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment. She received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, as well as Operating an Unregistered Vehicle. In addition, Heather Schmidt received a criminal summons for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Minor Passenger While DUI. The New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency was contacted due to the presence of an infant child in the vehicle.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 10:23 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota conducted a traffic stop on Deerhead Lake Drive near Elwood Street in Forked River. The driver, 26-year-old Joshua S. Preston of W. Princeton Avenue in Brick, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued from the Point Pleasant Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $250. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Joshua Preston was ultimately lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of the $250 bail.

  • Drug Possession (Arrests) – On Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 6:45 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe and Special Officer Travis Horton responded to the 400 block of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a report of CDS activity inside a parked motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle was located and found to contain three occupants. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of both 20-year-old Eric Moore of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River and 18-year-old Katherine Fagan of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor for Possession of CDS (Heroin), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle. In addition, 18-year-old Frank J. Losardo of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle. They were transported to police headquarters, processed, charged, and released.

  • Trespassing and Drug Possession (Arrests) – On Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 5:36 p.m., Officers Noah Schaffer and Michael Verwey were dispatched to the 800 block of Devon Street in Forked River for a possible burglary in progress. Officer Evan Androcy responded to assist. The caller reported seeing two unknown male subjects enter the rear of the residence. Upon arrival, two male juveniles were quickly located inside a shed in the back yard. The two males, identified as a 14-year-old juvenile male from Bayville, NJ, and a 13-year-old juvenile male from Forked River, were found to be smoking Marijuana inside the shed. The two juvenile males were arrested and transported to police headquarters. Each juvenile was processed and charged on juvenile complaints with delinquency related to Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Trespassing.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 12:54 a.m., Special Officer Travis Horton conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Earie Road and Whitcomb Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 39-year-old Justin Johnsen of Kenney Street in Forked River for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Justin Johnsen was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Signal. The vehicle Justin Johnsen was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s law.

  • Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Formal Charges) – On Friday, March 21, 2014, at 10:35 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe, Charles May, and Peter Donahue responded to the 500 block of Tappan Street in Forked River for a suspicious incident. The caller reported observing a juvenile female being carried into the residence by four people and was concerned for her safety. Investigation at the scene determined that the 15-year-old juvenile female was intoxicated as a result of consuming alcoholic beverages at another residence located on the 1200 block of Taylor Lane in Forked River. The 15-year-old female juvenile was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment of alcohol poisoning. She was later charged on a juvenile complaint for underage consumption of alcohol in a private residence. The incident is under investigation and further charges are pending.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, March 21, 2014, at 3:40 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Jeffrey Slota responded to Auto-Zone, 319 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a male shoplifter who left the store. A description was provided and the male was located in the area. The shoplifter was identified as 32-year-old Robert Beard of Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River. He was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $69.93 and transported to police headquarters. Robert Beard was processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.

  • Burglary and Theft (Residential Shed) – On Friday, March 21, 2014, at 2:26 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 1500 block of Bee Way in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between March 17, 2014, and March 20, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered his shed and stole a green 6 inch double wheel grinder valued at $50.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 9:44 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart conducted a traffic stop in the TD Bank parking lot located on the corner of Beach Boulevard and Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, John F. Rae of Puffin Court in Forked River, for DUI. John F. Rae was transported to police headquarters, processed, charged, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Improper Passing. The vehicle John Rae was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 9:12 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue and Special Officer Travis Horton observed an improperly parked vehicle containing two occupants on Dover Road near Good Luck Road in Forked River (Bamber Lake). Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of two occupants, 18-year-old Danica M. Heck of Poe Avenue in Forked River and a 17-year-old juvenile male from Toms River for Possession of Marijuana. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. Danica Heck was charged with Possession of Marijuana and released on a criminal summons. The juvenile was charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Marijuana and released to his parent.

  • Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Formal Charge) – On Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:31 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was dispatched to Laurel Boulevard near Basin Road in Lanoka Harbor for a female stumbling in the roadway. Upon arrival the female was located. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the female, identified as 20-year-old Sara M. McCanna of Beverly Road in Forked River, for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. Sara McCanna was issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for the violation and released.

  • Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief (Business) – On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 10:58 a.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to Ocean Trophies located at 825 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The complainant reported that near the end of January 2014 an unknown person or persons cut and stole approximately 50 feet of copper pipe from the basement. In addition, the MUA water meter was stolen. The total theft is valued at approximately $50 and the damage is estimated at $500. Detective Lieutenant Christopher Cornelius responded to process the scene and is continuing the investigation.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, March 17, 2014, at 11:53 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Vaughn Avenue near Baldwin Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old James N. Sheppard of Baldwin Street in Forked River for DUI. James Sheppard was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • DUI with Accident (Arrest) On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 5:31 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas was dispatched to the Captain’s Inn, 304 E. Lacey Road in Forked River, for a hit and run traffic accident involving two parked vehicles that were struck. A description of the vehicle fleeing the scene was provided. The suspect vehicle and driver were located a short time later. The investigation led to the arrest of 53-year-old William D. Kurtz of Hemlock Drive in Forked River for DUI. William Kurtz was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failing to Report an Accident.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 1:24 p.m., Officer Michael Eden conducted a traffic stop on Swains Bog Road in the Bamber Lake section of Lacey Township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Erik C. Moore of Lake Barnegat Drive South in Forked River for possession of Marijuana. Erik Moore was transported to police headquarters and processed, charged, and released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Driving While Suspended and for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

  • Trespassing (Formal Charge) – On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 1:29 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy stopped 19-year-old John P. Rutigliano of Riviera Drive in Forked River for trespassing in Lacey Materials at 5001 W. Lacey Road in Forked River. John Rutigliano was issued a summons for trespassing and released at the scene pending a court appearance.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at 12:32 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Parker Avenue near Lakeside Drive South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 41-year-old Kenneth L. Wimbush of Foxhollow Drive in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. Kenneth Wimbush was transported to police headquarters, processed, then released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle Kenneth Wimbush was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Trespassing and Littering (Formal Charges) – On Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11:49 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy was patrolling Caruso Lane at the end of Swains Bog Road in the Bamber Lake section of Lacey Township when he observed two suspicious vehicles. Special Officer Travis Horton responded to assist. The officers conducted an investigation at the scene, and as a result, 20-year-old Ashley N. Jaspan of Mesa Verde Lane in Howell, NJ, was issued a summons for Trespassing, and 23-year-old Matthew Patetta of Mesa Verde Lane in Howell, NJ, was issued a summons for Trespassing as well as Littering. Matthew Patetta also received a traffic summons for Driving While Suspended. In addition, 22-year-old Niko Carrano of Pt. Monmouth Road in Keansburg, NJ, and 22-year-old Mitchell R. Braikovich, Jr. of Avenue A in Bayonne, NJ, were also each issued a summons for Trespassing.

  • Drug Possession (Arrests) – On Friday, March 14, 2014, at 11:57 p.m., Special Officer Travis Horton conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of E. Hickory Drive and DeGuise Street in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 19-year-old Abdelkari K. Kandil of Boox Street in Lanoka Harbor, and the passenger, 18-year-old James E. Whitley of Horner Lane in Forked River, for Possession of Marijuana. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. Abdelkari Kandil was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also issued traffic summonses for Operating an Unregistered Vehicle and for Possessing CDS in a Motor Vehicle. James Whitley was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

  • Theft – On Friday, March 14, 2014, at 6:44 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the 1200 block of Cypress Place in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant stated that between 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, and 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole six (6) decorative solar lights from the front yard. The theft is estimated at $100.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 9:56 p.m., Officers Peter Donahue and Adam Ewart responded to the 1500 block of Sommerell Avenue in Forked River for a suspicious vehicle. Lieutenant Christopher Cornelius also responded. Upon arrival, the vehicle was located. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Tyler E. Gorda of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River for Possession of Marijuana. A 16-year-old, juvenile, male, passenger from Forked River was taken into custody as well. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. Tyler Gorda was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana.

  • Theft – On Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 9:52 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the 1200 block of Taylor Lane in Forked River for a theft. The complainant reported that between the evening hours of March 12, 2014, and the morning hours of March 13, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole six (6) solar lights from her front yard. The total theft is estimated at $52.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 4:25 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the McDonald’s Restaurant at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 38-year-old Holly Dingus of Weehawkin Avenue in Forked River, on two (2) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Lakewood Township Municipal Court and was in the amount of $750. Holly Dingus was transported to police headquarters and processed. Holly Dingus was released after posting full bail on both warrants. She was issued a traffic summons for driving while suspended.

  • Theft – On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 9:56 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 1200 block of Edgemere Avenue in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant stated that between 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, and 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, an unknown person or persons removed the medium size “Haier” window air conditioner unit from the window located on the north side of the kitchen. The theft is estimated at $150.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 7:58 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue conducted a traffic stop on Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 30-year-old Kevin J. Kennedy of Compass Road in Forked River, for Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kevin Kennedy was released after receiving a criminal summons for the above violations.

  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 8:46 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 1700 block of Longwood Drive in Forked River for criminal mischief. The complainant stated that between 5:30 p.m. on March 10, 2014, and 8:30 a.m. on March 11, 2014, an unknown person or persons keyed the driver’s side of their vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The damage is estimated at $3,000.
