Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 10:50 p.m., Officers Dimitri Tsarnas and Adam Ewart responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for two adult female shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Kiana Bass of Mermaid Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $99. In addition, 22-year-old Nicole A. Cholish of Mermaid Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $116. They were both transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with Shoplifting.

Criminal Mischief – On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 5:44 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas responded to the east side of Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015, an unknown person or persons shattered the back window on his vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. The cost to replace the rear window is valued at $250.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 12:25 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Slota and Jason Lee responded to the 500 block of Elwood Street in Forked River for an unrelated ambulance call. While at the house, officers learned that one of the residents, identified as Brenna Hasse, had an outstanding Beachwood Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Brenna Hasse was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was released after posting bail.

Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 8:38 a.m., Officer Jason Lee was on patrol in the area of TD Bank, 106 Route 9 North in Forked River, when he observed the accused, 29-year-old Dillon J. Dittonhofer of Williams Street in Forked River. Officer Lee was aware that Dillon Dittonhofer had several outstanding warrants. Dillon Dittonhofer was placed under arrest. The warrants included:
1) Brick Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750.00.
2) Ocean County Sheriff’s Office No Bail Warrant for Violation of Probation.
3) Ocean County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $5000.00.
4) Ocean County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $5000.00.
5) Seaside Heights Municipal Court in the amount of $483.00.
6) Barnegat Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00.
7) Barnegat Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00.
8) Stafford Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00.
Dillon Dittonhofer was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. -
Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Sunday, July 12, 2015, at 5:41 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins was checking Hebrew Park, located at 324 Cedar Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, when he located damage. Sometime during the morning of July 11, 2015, and 5:40 a.m. on July 12, 2015, an unknown person or persons ripped shingles off the front bathroom and threw toilet paper around. The damage is estimated at $500.

Theft – On Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 6:50 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, she was shopping inside the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, when her wallet was stolen. The victim stated that she believed an unknown person or persons stole her wallet from her purse while she was in the produce area. A short time later her wallet was located and turned in to the customer service desk, however, $150.00 had been removed. The incident is under investigation.

Theft – On Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 4:32 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 700 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The victim reported that he rents a room within the residence and within the prior three weeks, $300. 00 in cash was stolen from within.

DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 1:23 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Chelsea Street near Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 43-year-old Rachel S. Samoles of Stony Point Drive in Forked River, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Rachel Samoles was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane and Speeding. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI (Arrest) and Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 12:09 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive and Elwood Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 51-year-old John Tasco of Whitcomb Road in Forked River, for DUI. In addition, he had a Raritan Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,304 for his arrest. John Tasco was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Driving While Suspended. In addition he posted full bail on the warrant. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Warrant Arrests – On Friday, July 10, 2015, at 10:03 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol in the area of Froghollow Road and Horner Lane in Forked River, when he observed two subjects that had warrants for their arrests. Subject number one (1) was identified as 32-year-old Candice Gianettino of Frog Hollow Road in Forked River. She had an outstanding Lakewood Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $750. The second subject, identified as 34-year-old Matthew Jurich of Ocean Heights Avenue in Egg Harbor, NJ, had an outstanding Stafford Township Warrant in the amount of $500. They were both arrested, transported to police headquarters, and processed. Candice Gianettino was turned over to the custody of the Lakewood Township Police Department and Matthew Jurich was turned over to the custody of the Stafford Township Police Department.

Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Friday, July 10, 2015, at 8:11 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson was on patrol when he observed damage at the Ash Road Park, located at 501 Ash Road in Lanoka Harbor. Sometime during the day an unknown person or persons purposely broke the spinning tic-tac-toe board causing approximately $500 in damage.

Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief – On Friday, July 10, 2015, at 12:12 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the 800 block of East Hickory Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that sometime between 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 and 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015, an unknown person or persons damaged the front screen door to the residence to gain entry inside. The victim reported that entry was gained and items within valued at approximately $20 were stolen. The damage to the door is estimated at $150. The incident is under investigation.

Drug Possession (Arrest) and Criminal Mischief – On Friday, July 10, 2015, at 9:17 a.m., Officer Brian Holt and Daniel Ricciardella responded to the area of Locust Drive and Maple Road in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant stated that he observed an adult male damaging a motor vehicle parked on Laurel Boulevard. Upon arrival Officers located the male and identified him as 43-year-old John Locilento of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. An investigation at the scene led to his arrest for causing damage to a vehicle estimated at $400. In addition, John Locilento was found to be in possession of Alprazolam without a prescription. John Locilento was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with Criminal Mischief and Possession of CDS.

Theft and Criminal Mischief – On Friday, July 10, 2015, at 7:18 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the Verizon Building located at 510 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The complainant reported that between May 7, 2015, and July 10, 2015, an unknown person or persons stolen copper cables from the cell towers valued at approximately $1,300. The damage is estimated at $1,000.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 2:02 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling the 700 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor when he observed a suspicious vehicle. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the vehicle’s occupant, identified as 57-year-old Gregory Guarino of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River, on an outstanding Washington Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,000. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Gregory Guarino posted bail and was released.

Possession and Distribution of Heroin (Arrests) – On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 8, 2015, Lacey detectives witnessed a suspected drug transaction between the drivers of two vehicles in the parking lot of Home Depot. As the vehicles departed the lot they were both detained. As the investigation continued, the driver of one vehicle, 33-year-old Eric Lenovich of Nantucket Court in Toms River, was found in possession of 50 folds containing Heroin. Further investigation following Lenovich’s arrest led to subsequent searches of both the second vehicle and a local hotel room from where it had originally departed. The search of the room yielded 100 folds containing Heroin that were consistent with those seized from Lenovich. The driver of the second vehicle, 31-year-old Jennie Feliciano of 229 Route 9 in Forked River, was determined to be the registered occupant of the hotel room and was placed under arrest. Lenovich was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possessing Heroin in a Motor Vehicle. Jennie Feliciano was charged with Possessing Heroin and Distribution of Heroin.

Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 10:35 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling the area of Cedar Lake Point and Taylor Lane in Forked River when he observed the accused Dale Fleig. Officer Sarno was aware that Dale Fleig had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $318 for his arrest. Officer Sarno placed him under arrest and transported him to police headquarters. Dale Fleig was processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 12:48 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for an adult male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Richard S. Hinman, 3rd, of Timberland Road in Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting. In addition, he was found to have two (2) warrants for his arrest. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the East Brunswick Municipal Court in the amount of $378, and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Helmetta Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Richard S. Hinman, 3rd., was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

Theft – On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 4:21 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the 600 block of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 4:00 p.m. on July 7, 2015, and 4:00 p.m. on July 8, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole his orange Premium bicycle from the side yard of the residence. The bicycle, valued at $200, was not locked at the time of theft.

Criminal Mischief – On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 12:56 a.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to the 1200 block of Taurus Court in Forked River for criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between July 4, 2015, and July 8, 2015, an unknown person or persons shattered the tempered window on the rear sliding glass door. Entry was not gained. The damage is estimated at $1,000.

DUI with Accident (Arrest) – On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 3:52 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to JRs Liquors, located at 1000 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a motor vehicle accident. It was reported that a driver was attempting to flee the scene. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 55-year-old Robert Davie of Lake Barnegat Drive South in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summons for DUI, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Motor Vehicle Accident (Fatal) – Sergeant Robert Flynn, Officer Jeffrey Slota, and Officer Jason Lee responded to Route 539 for a report of a fatal motor vehicle accident involving an additional victim with a significant head injury. Barnegat Township Police Department officers and emergency service personnel were on scene prior to the arrival of Lacey Township personnel. Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by 76-year-old Joseph Matthews of Robbinsville crossed the center line and was struck head on by a Borough of Surf City garbage truck operated by 28-year-old Brian Miller of Manahawkin. According to witnesses, an unknown aggressive driver was attempting to pass several vehicles, including the victim, and may be responsible for the resultant crash. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. Nancy Matthews, the wife of Joseph Matthews, was flown to Jersey Shore Trauma Center with head injuries. Officer Michael Verwey and Officer Adam Ewart of the Lacey Township Police Department Accident Response Team responded to the scene to work with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Criminal Investigation Unit in the follow-up investigation. Berkeley Township Hazmat responded due to a diesel fuel spill from a ruptured fuel tank on the garbage truck.

Warrant Arrest and Drug Possession – On Monday, July 6, 2015, at 9:07 p.m., Officer Charles May and Officer Adam Ewart observed 26-year-old Thomas J. Giberson 2nd in the parking lot of Surf Taco, 44 Manchester Avenue in Forked River. The officers were aware that the Thomas Giberson, 2nd of Bowline Drive in Barnegat, NJ had an outstanding no bail Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant for violation of parole. Thomas J. Giberson 2nd was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Thomas Giberson 2nd was found to be in possession of four wax folds of Heroin and was charged with Possession of Heroin before being turned over to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, July 6, 2015, at 10:06 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter in custody. The loss prevention employee reported that the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Ashlie L. Davis of Tiller Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, concealed $156.45 worth of merchandise in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Ashlie Davis for shoplifting. Ashlie Davis also had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the amount of $2,000 and an outstanding Beachwood Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Davis was charged on a criminal warrant with Shoplifting and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

Theft – On Monday, July 6, 2015, at 3:30 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to a Taylor Lane residence in Forked River for a report of theft. The resident reported that on July 5, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered his car and stole a prescription pill bottle containing approximately 64 Oxycontin pills. The value of the stolen merchandise is estimated at $50.

DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, July 6, 2015, at 5:08 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to McDonald’s, located at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an impaired female. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Gabriella Terrill of Nantucket Road in Forked River, for DUI. She was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI and Reckless Driving.

DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, July 6, 2015, at 4:32 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the area of Beach Boulevard in Forked River in reference to a motor vehicle that struck landscaping pilings and then fled the scene. Witnesses reported that the suspect vehicle pulled into the driveway of a Tamiami Road residence in Forked River. Officer Schaffer located the vehicle and driver at that residence. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 41-year-old Shana Cronan of Tamiami Road in Forked River, for DUI. Shana Cronan was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident.

Motor Vehicle Accident (Fatal) – On Sunday, July 5th, 2015, at approximately 3:25 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota began a response to a disturbance call along the front fence of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station which was called in by power plant security. Officer Andrew Slota was traveling east on Lacey Road approaching the intersection of Deerhead Lake Drive when a pedestrian, 25-year-old Neil Van de Putte of Toms River, NJ, entered the roadway to cross Lacey Road from the south side over to the north side. Officer Andrew Slota attempted to make an evasive maneuver prior to striking Neil Van de Putte which resulted in the patrol vehicle striking a utility pole. Neil Van de Putte was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Konomos from Newark Beth Israel at 3:47 a.m., and Officer Slota was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment of the injuries sustained in the collision. Due to the Lacey Township police officer being involved in the accident, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes/Fatal Accident Investigation Unit was joined by Toms River Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI in investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Lacey Township detectives and officers are not involved in the continuing investigation; therefore, all media releases related to the accident will be handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

MVA (Medical Emergency – Death) – On Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 8:43 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota, Officer Scott Anderson, and Sergeant Ronald Buxton responded to Lake Barnegat Drive North near the intersection of Lacey Road for a report of a driver that had passed out behind the wheel and drove off the roadway. Upon arrival, the officers observed that the driver was unconscious and had driven up the curb near the “Heads or Nails” salon. Officers determined that the driver, identified as 82-year-old man from Manahawkin, NJ, had suffered a medical episode and was not breathing. Officers performed CPR and with the assistance of Lacey Township Emergency Medical Services. The patient was transported to Community Medical Center, but later passed away while in the hospital.

Unattended Death – On Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 6:40 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota and Officer Elton Copes responded to a Thropp Road address in reference to an unresponsive 57-year-old male. The man reportedly indicated to his friends earlier in the day that he was not feeling well and was later found unresponsive in bed. As per normal protocol for an unattended death, Detective Robert Surtees was summoned to the scene along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit and a representative from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Motor Vehicle Accident – On Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 5:39 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson and Officer Michael Hein responded to Mile Marker 19 on Route 539 in Lacey Township for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Preliminary investigation determined that 24-year-old Carlos Mercado of Paterson, NJ was traveling northbound on Route 539 in a Volkswagen Gulf when he attempted to pass several cars by entering into the southbound lane. As the driver was attempting to pass the other vehicles, he struck a Chevy Trailblazer vehicle head-on, which was traveling southbound on Route 539. The driver and front seat passenger, 26-year-old Yessenia Torres of Paterson, NJ were flown separately to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ as result of sustaining multiple internal injuries. A two-year-old child in the back of that vehicle was taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center as a precautionary measure. The driver, 46-year-old Vincent E. Mattina of Jackson, NJ, of the Chevy Trailblazer was uninjured. The front seat passenger of that vehicle, 54-year-old Jean Mattina of Jackson, NJ, and two 10-year-old passengers, who were seated in the rear seats, suffered minor injuries and were all transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Members of the Lacey Township Accident Response Team responded to the scene to investigate. The Manchester Township Police Department, Forked River Fire Department, Bamber Lakes Fire Department, Whiting Fire Department, and Barnegat Township Fire Department assisted at the scene. Lacey Township EMS, Lanoka Harbor EMS, Quality EMS, Monoc EMS, and the Monoc Paramedics provide medical care to the patients. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI also assisted.

DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 12:10 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle on Route 9 near Beach Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 40-year-old Lori Rinkowski of Ashwood Drive in Brick, NJ, for DUI. Lori Rinkowski was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.

Criminal Mischief – On Friday, July 3, 2015, at 2:07 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Brickwall Corporation, located at 2215 Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ, for a report of criminal mischief. An employee reported that an unknown person or persons damaged windows of the sand plant building on the Atlantic Gravel portion of the property. The damage is estimated at $3,000.

Motor Vehicle Accident – On Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 8:26 p.m., Officer John Simonson, Officer Julie Barcalow, and Sergeant Paul Sullivan responded to the area of Fairview Lane near the intersection of Jennifer Lane in the Forked River Beach section of the township in reference to a car versus utility pole motor vehicle crash. The force of the collision knocked two utility poles and the power lines to the ground causing significant disruption to electric and phone service in the area. The 17-year-old male driver lost control of the vehicle as he was traveling down Fairview Lane and struck a utility pole. The driver and his two passengers were not injured as a result of the collision.

Motor Vehicle Accident – On Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 8:26 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to Beach Plaza, 729 Route 9 South, Forked River, NJ, for a report of a one car motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers observed that a 2004 Lincoln Town Car had crashed into the front of the “Bark Avenue Pet Grooming” storefront window. The 71-year-old female driver was the only occupant and was not injured.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 1:20 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno observed 20-year-old George Theisz 3rd of Station Drive in Forked River, driving down Lane Place in the Forked River section of the township. Officer Sarno was aware that George Theisz 3rd had an active Ocean Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. George Theisz 3rd was placed under arrest, transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.

DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 7:36 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a vehicle speeding on Route 9 in the Forked River section of the township. Officer Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop the vehicle on Route 9 North near the intersection of Nautilus Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 47-year-old William P. Snyder of Cable Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, for DUI. William Snyder was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded by Jersey Shore Towing pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI (Arrest) – On Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 12:35 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins and Officer Michael Verwey responded to the area of Route 9 South in the Forked River Section of the township in reference to a complaint of and aggressive driver. Officer Michael Verwey located the vehicle and stopped the vehicle on Route 9 near the intersection of Lakeside Drive South. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 42-year-old Alan J. Nielson of Gable Circle, Manchester, NJ, for DUI. Alan Nielson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.

DUI (Arrest) – At 7:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Lacey Road for speeding. The driver, 47-year-old William P. Snyder of Cable Avenue in Beachwood was arrested for DUI. William P. Snyder was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Speeding, and Reckless Driving. The vehicle being operated by William P. Snyder was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, June 29, 2015, at 1:48 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop of a driver, identified as 34-year-old Amanda Malinowksi of Brentwood Place in Forked River, NJ, for outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lumberton Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Mount Laurel Township Municipal Court in the amount of $300. Amanda Malinowski was arrested, transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, and processed. Amanda Malinowski was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. She was also charged on a motor vehicle summons with driving while suspended.

Theft – On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 10:19 p.m., a resident of Devon Street in Forked River responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report that a laptop computer was stolen from her residence. The resident reported that between Sunday, June 21, 2015 and Wednesday, June 24, 2015, a gray Lenovo laptop computer was stolen from her residence. The value of her the computer is estimated at $500.

Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 3:45 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop of a driver, identified as 35-year-old Marisa Conklin of Lanoka Harbor. Marisa Conklin was charged on a motor vehicle summons with driving while suspended. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Margaret Vannell of Manchester, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding $250 Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant. Margaret Vannell was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail.

Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 12:31 a.m., a driver responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown person struck her vehicle with a rock as she was traveling down Western Boulevard. The driver advised Officer Elton Copes that the incident occurred as she was driving east on Western Boulevard near the Village Lutheran Church. The damage to the vehicle, estimated at $500, was located on the hood above the front passenger-side wheel.

Suspicious Incident – On Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 1:24 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1400 Block of Earie Way in Forked River for a report of window having been tampered with between Saturday, June 6, 2015 and Saturday, June 27, 2015. It could not be determined if the residence was entered and no items were reported missing.

Shoplifting – On Friday, June 26, 2015, at 6:55 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 N in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an employee in custody for shoplifting. Loss prevention employees had the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Michael T. Butler of Christopher Avenue in Trenton, NJ, detained in the loss prevention office. Loss prevention employees reported that Michael Butler entered the men’s bathroom with merchandise and removed the merchandise from its packaging then attempted to exit the store without paying for the merchandise. Michael Butler was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting $17.11 worth of merchandise.

Strong Arm Robbery – On Friday, June 26, 2015, at 8:48 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the Walmart for a report of a shoplifting incident involving an assault. It was reported that a Walmart Loss Prevention employee observed a white male, approximately 6′ 1″ tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair shoplifting merchandise. The employee reportedly approached the suspect as the suspect exited the store. The suspect then reportedly punched the loss prevention employee in the face and fled on foot. The male suspect was last observed running across Route 9 into the wooded area adjacent to the Spring Oak Assisted Living prior to police being notified. Officers responded to the area and conducted a search of the wooded area. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department responded with a K-9 and conducted a search as well with negative results. Prior to committing the physical assault, the suspect was believed to be in the process of shoplifting a $6 item. Due to the assault to facilitate his fleeing from the theft, this matter is being investigated as a robbery. Theft – On Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 6:45 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the Rite Aid, located at 101 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that while he was shopping in Rite-Aid between 6:15 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked, 2005, red Toyota Camry in the parking lot and stole his Black and Gray Vans wallet. The wallet contained approximately $8 in cash, a driver’s license, credit card and other miscellaneous cards. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $27.

Theft – On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 1:39 p.m., a man responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report the theft of his Disability Parking Placard. He reported that on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 some person or persons stole his disability parking placard that was hanging from the rearview mirror of his vehicle while his vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Walmart. He reported that he left the windows of his vehicle down while he was shopping inside Walmart and upon returning to his vehicle approximately twenty minutes later, he discovered that the parking placard had been stolen.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Monday, June 22, 2015, at 11:54 p.m., Officers John D. Simonson and Anthony Sarno responded to the 200 block of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious vehicle. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Joseph Bombardier, Jr. of Tuyahov Boulevard in Toms River for Possession of Marijuana. Joseph Bombardier, Jr. was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana.

Theft – On Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 7:23 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to police headquarters for a report of theft. The victim reported that between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on June 20, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole her Samsung Galaxy S6 cellular phone from the hostess stand at the Captain’s Inn, 304 East Lacey Road in Forked River, where she kept it while working. The cell phone is valued at approximately $800.

DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 6:34 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Adam Ewart conducted a traffic stop on Manchester Avenue near Veterans Way in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 32-year-old Frank Pulido, Jr. of Butler Boulevard in Bayville, NJ, for DUI. Frank Pulido, Jr. was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Animal Complaint (Formal Summons) – On Monday, June 22, 2015, at 7:48 a.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to the area of Vaughn Avenue and Tappan Street for a report of two loose pit bulls. Investigation at the scene determined that the dogs belonged to a resident on the 500 block of Devon Street in Forked River. The resident, identified as 28-year-old Matthew C. Clinton of Devon Street was issued a Special Complaint Summons for Dogs Running at Large.

Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 8:24 a.m., Officer Jason Lee was patrolling Hebrew Park, located at 324 Cedar Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, when he located damage to the bathrooms. During the overnight hours of Saturday, June 20, 2015 into June 21, 2015, an unknown person or persons scratched the mirrors inside both the men’s and women’s bathrooms located in the center of the park. The cost to replace the damaged mirrors is estimated at $75.

DUI and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 2:46 p.m., Officers John Cernek and Jason Lee responded to the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Bradley Gesser of Swordfish Road in Manahawkin, NJ, for DUI and Possession of Heroin. Bradley Gesser was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on criminal summonses with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes. Bradley Gesser was also issued traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle Bradley Gesser was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Theft from an Auto – On Friday, June 20, 2015, at 12:34 a.m., Officers Adam Ewart, Robert Duffy, and Charles May responded to Latitudes Restaurant, located at 361 East Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a theft from a vehicle which was parked in the parking lot. It was reported that Latitudes security personnel were detaining a suspect. Upon arrival, the officers met with security personnel along with the accused, identified as 33-year-old Barry K. Summers of Capstan Drive in Beachwood, NJ. An investigation at the scene led to Barry K. Summers’ arrest for the burglary and theft, specifically for entering a vehicle at the scene and stealing tools valued at approximately $300. Barry K. Summers was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal warrant with bail set in the amount of $15,000. Barry K. Summers was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 2:24 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Advanced Auto Parts, located at 218 Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Dina Pasquin of Forked River, on an outstanding Holmdel Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $240. Dina Pasquin was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.

Theft – On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 5:36 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between June 6, 2014 and June 15, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole two watches valued at a total of $700. There were no signs of forced entry and the incident is under investigation.

Drug Possession and Warrant (Arrest) – On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 11:30 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins was on patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked near Bud Mezera Park, located at 1400 Lakeside Drive South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 50-year-old Douglas Kern of Norwood Street in Forked River on two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $300 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Long Beach Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750. In addition, Douglas Kern was found to be in possession of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Douglas Kern was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal warrant with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Douglas Kern was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail on the warrants.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 4:34 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Dan Ricciardella responded to the 900 block of Elwood Street in Forked River to assist another agency. While at the residence, several pieces of drug paraphernalia, along with Marijuana were observed. As a result, 34-year-old Kevin Richmond of Elwood Street in Forked River was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kevin Richmond was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 26-year-old Nicholas Charles of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River, for DUI and Possession of a Heroin. Nicholas Charles was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Nicholas Charles was also charged on traffic summonses with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle Nicholas Charles was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Shoplifting and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 3:23 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Christopher Gardocki of Edgewood Drive in Toms River for shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $50. In addition, Christopher Gardocki was found to be unlawfully in possession of Suboxone. Christopher Gardocki was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with Shoplifting and Possession of a CDS.

Theft – On Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 7:57 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 500 block of Holmes Avenue in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between June 6, 2015 and June 9, 2015 a black Nikon Cool Pics LIOS digital camera valued at $150 was stolen from inside the residence. The name of a suspect was provided and the investigation is continuing.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Louis Dautorio of Center Street in Forked River for Shoplifting. Louis Dautorio was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting.

Criminal Mischief and Traffic Collision – On Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 9:47 p.m., Sergeant Robert Flynn, along with Officers Patrick Watkins and George Resetar, responded to the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Anchor Drive in Forked River for a road rage incident resulting in a motor vehicle crash. An investigation at the scene determined that just prior to the crash, Driver #2, identified as 77-year-old Dale Pierson of Forked River, believed he was being followed by the vehicle behind him, and as a result, reportedly conducted a U-turn on Sunrise Boulevard in an attempt to flee the other vehicle (Vehicle #1). The other vehicle was being driven by 27-year-old Nicholas Blaszka of Forked River who was on the phone with police headquarters reporting the driver of Vehicle #2 as an erratic driver. As Dale Pierson was in his U-turn, the vehicle being operated by Nicholas Blaszka stopped and had begun to back up, and while doing so, impacted the passenger side of Vehicle #2. After the crash, Dale Pierson reportedly exited his vehicle, approached Vehicle #1, and reportedly began punching the driver’s side door causing damage estimated at $200. The driver of Vehicle #1 stated that he was following Vehicle #2 because he was driving aggressively and nearly caused an accident. Nicholas Blaszka was issued a traffic summons for careless driving and Dale Pierson was issued traffic summonses for operating an unregistered vehicle and conducting an improper U-turn. In addition, Dale Pierson was charged on a special complaint-summons at the scene with Criminal Mischief for causing damage to the vehicle by punching it. A 72-year-old female passenger in Dale Pierson’s vehicle was transported by Lacey EMS to CMC as a result of chest pains.

Traffic Collision – On Sunday, June 14, 2015, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick and Special Officer Edgar Lenkauskas responded to Route 539 near mile marker 18 for a motor vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle being operated by 21-year-old Joseph Krauchick of Barnegat, NJ, was traveling south on Route 539 when he crossed over into the northbound lane and sideswiped a vehicle (vehicle 2) being operated by 50-year-old Lynda Lacampo of Oxford, NJ. Crash Investigator Sergeant Robert Flynn, along with the Bamber Lakes Fire Department, Lacey Township EMS, and Monoc paramedics responded to assist. Joseph Krauchick suffered a head injury and was flown by medivac to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, for treatment. Joseph Krauchick received traffic summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane and Failure to Wear Seatbelt. Lynda Lacampo was not reported to be injured in the collision.

Underage Possession of Alcohol – On Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 12:54 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Shodda Street in Forked River for a traffic violation. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, identified as 18-year-old Colin Rhoades of Hill Street in Lanoka Harbor, for Underage Possession of Alcohol. He was issued a special complaint and summons charging him with the offense and was released at the scene. The driver was not charged.

Theft from an Auto – On Friday, June 12, 2015, at 11:12 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to a Haines Street East residence in regard to a theft. The complainant reported that between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her handicapped placard.

Brush Fire – On Thursday, June 11, 2015, at 11:55 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota was on patrol in the Bamber Lakes section of Lacey Township when he was advised of a brush fire on Swains Bog Road. Officer Slota arrived on scene and located the small brush fire. The Bamber Lakes and Forked River Fire Departments, along with the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service, arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze. There were no reported injuries and the fire was ruled accidental.

Theft from an Auto – On Thursday, June 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 400 block of Barnacle Road in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole $5 in change, a Garmin GPS, and a bottle of Oxycodone pills. The total theft is estimated at $200.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 55-year-old Hugh Cogan of Pine Beach, NJ, on an outstanding Eatontown Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $150. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Hugh Cogan was released after posting bail.

Theft – On Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 12:28 p.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 1200 block of Gemini Court in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole two orange traffic cones that had been placed at the front of his driveway. The cones are valued at $50.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 10:53 p.m., Officers John D. Simonson and Patrick Watkins responded to a Circle Drive residence in Forked River for a theft report. During the course of the theft investigation, Officers Simonson and Watkins responded to a residence on Leguene Avenue in Forked River. While at the residence, the officers believed that drug use was in progress at the residence. An investigation was conducted at the scene which resulted in the location of a Marijuana smoking device. The discovery led to a 15-year-old female from Forked River and a 16-year-old female from Tuckerton, NJ, being taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both juvenile females were charged on juvenile complaints and released to the custody of their parents.

The complainant reported that between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., an unknown person or persons keyed her vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot. Damage is estimated at $500.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 43-year-old Mia C. Morella of Waretown, NJ, on an outstanding Sayreville Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $170. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Mia Morella was released after posting bail. In addition, she received a traffic summons for driving with a suspended license.

Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 3:22 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to a residence on the 1200 block of Leguene Avenue in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered the garage of the residence and slashed the tires of two bicycles and damaged a Polaroid Tablet (computer). The damage to the items is estimated at $230. The Lacey Township Detective Bureau responded. There were no signs of forced entry.

Warrant Arrest and Possession of Syringe – On Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 2:06 p.m., Detective Sam Della Sala was in the area of Clairmore Avenue and Meadowlark Drive in Lanoka Harbor when he observed the accused, 24-year-old Daniel Dabal, Jr., walking in the area. Detective Della Sala learned that Daniel Dabal had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500, and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Port Republic Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Daniel Dabal was arrested on the warrants and a search incident to the arrest resulted in three hypodermic syringes being located in his possession. Daniel Dabal was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail on the outstanding warrants.
