Fraud- On Friday, September 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht met with a Township resident who reported fraudulent bank activity. The victim reported that an unknown subject deposited a counterfeit check issued from her account into a New York bank. The check was issued in the amount of $8,754.
Shoplifting- On Friday, September 6, 2019, at 4:55 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Dona Carlo-Tanzola, 45, of Barnegat, NJ. Carlo-Tanzola was released on her own recognizance after being charged with Shoplifting. The theft was valued at $254.71.
Fraud- On Sunday, September 7, 2019, at 11:50 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer met with a Lanoka Harbor resident who reported that she was a victim of a fraudulent transaction. The resident reported that she purchased concert tickets with her debit card in April 2019. After never receiving the tickets, she contacted the venue who had no record of the transaction. The total for the tickets, $573, was deducted from the victim’s bank account on the day of the purchase.
Shoplifting- On Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 2:14 a.m., officers responded to Walmart after Loss Prevention reported that an adult female was driving from the lot after stealing items. Officers located the vehicle and identified the driver as 30 year-old Lisa Madden of Ocean Gate, NJ. Madden was ultimately arrested after it was determined that she stole items valued at $306.62. Madden was released pending a Court appearance after being charged with Shoplifting.
Warrant Arrest- On Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 10:30 p.m., 30 year-old Wesley Krempel voluntarily turned himself into police being aware of an outstanding warrant. Krempel was transported to the Ocean County Correction Facility in lieu of $15,210 bail.
Warrant Arrest- On Monday, September 9, 2019, at 1:45 p.m., Officer Michael Hein arrested Vanessa Bennette, 20, for an outstanding warrant issued by the Beach Haven Municipal Court. Bennette was released after satisfying $750 bail.
Shoplifting- On Monday, September 9, 2019, at 5:10 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari arrested Amanda Dozois for purposely under ringing a friend as she worked as a store employee at Walmart. Dozois was charged with Shoplifting after purposely avoiding to charge for several items valued at $70. She was released on her own recognizance pending a Court appearance.
Fraud- On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at 1:10 p.m., Officer Michael Hutman took a fraud report from a Forked River resident. The victim reported that she was contacted by a subject identifying himself as a representative of the Social Security Administration. The subject told the victim that her account was in the rears and convinced her to forward gift cards in the amount of $800.
