- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 8:00 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Joseph Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim stated that sometime between August 30, 2013 and September 9, 2013, an unknown person entered the residence and stole approximately $5,000.00 dollars in jewelry and cash.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 9:40 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 700 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between the evening of Monday, September 9, 2013 and 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, an unknown person(s) broke the passenger-side window of their vehicle that was parked in the street. The damage is estimated at $500.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10:09 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 800 block of Oxgoose Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim reported that sometime between June 18, 2013 and September 10, 2013, an unknown person or persons forced entry into the residence and removed all of the copper inside valued at approximately $25,000.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10:43 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 700 block of Eagleswood Avenue in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., and Monday, September 9, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., an unknown person(s) broke the driver’s-side mirror to his vehicle that was parked in the street directly in front of the residence. Damage is estimated at $50.
- Trespassing (Formal Complaints) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 4:13 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota was patrolling the JCP&L powerlines at 5001 Lacey Road in Forked River when he observed a vehicle with several subjects standing near it. Investigation at the scene determined that all subjects were trespassing. They were identified as 20-year-old Joseph Appolonia of Chelsea Street in Forked River; 29-year-old Jason Russo of Royal Court in Middletown; 25-year-old Nicole Sweeney of Jasmine Court in Mays Landing, NJ; and 24-year-old Jeffrey Lentz, Jr. of Pershing Avenue in Forked River. Each was issued a summons for Defiant Trespassing. They were released at the scene.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 7:32 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the 900 block of Center Street in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, an unknown person or persons broke the driver-side mirror on his vehicle that was parked in the street in front of the residence. Damage is estimated at $25.
- Theft (Business) – On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 8:42 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the Forked River House Plaza at 121 Route 9 South in Forked River for a theft. The complainant stated that just prior to contacting this agency, he observed a white van parked with two Hispanic male subjects in the rear of the building near the dumpsters. The van left prior to police arrival. The complainant stated upon checking the area, he observed that the suspects stole cooking oil from a cooking oil bin that was outside. A representative of the cooking oil company responded and determined that $383.50 worth of cooking oil was stolen. In addition, $89.50 worth of damage was done to the cooking oil bin when the suspects forced it open.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 8:55 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Oxford Road in Lanoka Harbor for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, an unknown person or persons damaged the driver-side mirror on two separate vehicles that were parked in the street in front of the residence. Damage is estimated at $500 each to replace each mirror.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 9:57 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson received a report of a theft that occurred on the 1800 block of Ravine Drive in Forked River. The victim reported that sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle and stole approximately $55 worth of compact discs and cash.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, an unknown person or persons damaged the driver-side mirror of a vehicle that was parked in the street in front of the residence. Damage is estimated at $400.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 5:16 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to headquarters in reference to a theft that occurred on the 300 block of Predmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. The victim reported that sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole a bag containing personal items and prescription medications; the value of the items was reported as $376.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 8:30 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the 1200 block of Tamarack Road in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 8:00 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, an unknown person “sliced” the right rear tire on her vehicle while it was parked at a business located on the 100 block of Route 9 South in Forked River. The damage is estimated at $200 to replace the tire.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 4:50 p.m., Special Officer Jesse Urban responded to the 600 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013, an unknown person or persons sliced the tires of three (3) separate vehicles that were parked at the residence. Damage is estimated at $659 to replace the three tires.
- Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Thursday, September 12, 2013, at approximately 5:32 p.m., Special Officer Jesse Urban conducted a traffic stop on Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Frederick Creutz, of Pine Forest Lane in Forked River for Possession of Marijuana. F. Creutz was transported to headquarters, processed, and released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana. He was also issued a traffic summons for littering from a motor vehicle.
- DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, September 13, 2013, at 1:15 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 43-year-old Dawn Milkosky of Berkeley Avenue in Beachwood for DUI. She was transported to headquarters, processed, and released on traffic summonses including DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle Dawn Milkosky was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting and Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, September 13, 2013, at 1:04 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue responded to Kohl’s department store at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River for two shoplifters in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 48-year-old Ralph Woodcock of Maple Tree in Manahawkin and 47-year-old Kelly Leonard of Wells Mills Road in Waretown for shoplifting offenses. They were both transported to police headquarters. Kelly Leonard was processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting merchandise valued at $249. Ralph Woodcock was processed and charged on a complaint warrant with shoplifting merchandise valued at $249. Bail for this offense was set at $1,500. He was also found to have two (2) outstanding warrants for his arrest including a warrant from Beachwood in the amount of $500 and a warrant from Little Egg Harbor for $500. Ralph Woodcock was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of his bail.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Friday, September 13, 2013, at 2:56 p.m., Special Officer Travis Horton responded to the 300 block of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim reported that sometime between the morning and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013, an 18-30 inch 18 carat gold necklace with an “Infinity” charm was stolen from the top of the dresser in her bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry. Total theft is $520.
- Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, September 13, 2013, at 5:30 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller responded to Station Drive in Forked River for a speeding complaint. During Special Officer Moller’s investigation, he responded to a Mill Street address to speak with the resident in regard to the traffic complaint. While investigating the incident, Special Officer Moller was advised that an occupant of the residence, identified as 27-year-old Anthony Fuschino of South Indian Valley Court in Little Egg Harbor had an outstanding Lacey Township Warrant for $500. Anthony Fuschino was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. He was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
- Theft – On Friday, September 13, 2013, at 9:16 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 1200 block of Maui Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that sometime between Monday, September 9, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. and Friday, September 13, 2013, at 9:10 p.m., an unknown person or persons stole his white, 2009, Suzuki 750 Motorcycle (NJ Registration U1ER6) that was parked in the driveway. The victim stated that he believed the motorcycle was not driven away because there were drag marks. A neighbor advised that she recalled seeing a flatbed tow truck in the area, possibly on the evening of Tuesday, September 10, 2103, and someone walking around the residence with a flashlight. The motorcycle is valued at $7,000.
- Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, September 13, 2013, at 9:31 p.m., Officer Joseph Soto conducted a traffic stop on Nautilus Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 15-year-old male passenger from Forked River for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was charged on a juvenile complaint and released. Additional charges are pending.
- Assault & Hindering an Investigation (Arrests) – On Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 12:32 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to an East Lacey Road address in reference to an unconscious male. The 26-year-old victim did not regain consciousness at the scene and was flown to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center. The investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted while in the residence. As a result of the investigation, 26-year-old Luis Jenis of Lakehurst Road in Toms River was arrested and charged with Assault and Hindering Apprehension. In addition, 39-year-old Marino Carpinteiro-Estevez of East Lacey Road in Forked River was charged with Hindering Apprehension. They were both charged on complaint summonses and released. Detective Robert Surtees and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation.
- Warrant (Arrest) – On Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 11:57 a.m., Officers Peter Donahue and John Simonson responded to a Cedar Drive, Lanoka Harbor residence, and arrested 51- year-old Rocco Selig of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Child Support Warrant for $27,921.84. Rocco Selig was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
- Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol and making Property Available for Underage Consumption (Arrests) – On Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 9:41 p.m., Officer Kym Gudgeon along with Special Officers Travis Horton and Russell Moller, responded to the 500 block of Cedarwood Drive in Forked River for a loud party complaint. Investigation at the scene led to a 14-year-old female from Forked River being taken into custody for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. She was later released at the scene to her father. She was charged on a juvenile complaint with the offense. In addition, a second 16-years-old, juvenile female from Forked River was taken into custody for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. She was charged on a juvenile complaint and was released to her mother at the scene. The homeowner, identified as 46-year-old Jon Gaffney, Cedarwood Drive in Forked River was charged on a summons for Making Property Available for the Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages. Jon Gaffney was released at the scene.
- DUI with Accident (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 1:59 a.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the area of 504 Route 9 North near the entrance to Walmart for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 20-year-old Eleison McHugh of Rabbit Court in Whiting, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to headquarters and processed. Eleison McHugh was later released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Underage DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle Eleison McHugh was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 6:24 p.m., Officers John Simonson and Keith Pearce responded to a business located on the 400 block of Route 9 North for an intoxicated male. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Alan Scola of Enterprise Drive in Forked River for DUI. He was transported to headquarters and processed. He was later released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. Alan Scola was also charged with having a minor in his vehicle while operating a vehicle under the influence. The vehicle Alan Scola was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 8:39 p.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the 300 block of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim reported that sometime around Wednesday, August 28, 2013, she observed that her coin collection along with various pieces of jewelry was missing. She initially assumed she misplaced the items in the residence. The victim later learned that her neighbors had been the victims of a burglary and upon checking her residence further, she now believes her home was burglarized as well. The stolen property was valued at approximately $20,000. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 8:46 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller responded to the 700 block of Cambridge Road, Lanoka Harbor, for criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 10: a.m. on September 15, 2013, an unknown person or persons damaged his vehicle’s driver-side mirror. The damage is estimated at $350.
- Warrant (Arrest) – On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 10:40 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson conducted a traffic stop on Arlington Avenue in Forked River. The driver, 40-year-old James W. Carmer of Waretown was arrested on an outstanding Ocean Township (Waretown) warrant in the amount of $250. James W. Carmer was transported to headquarters and turned over to the Ocean Township Police Department.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 11:20 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 600 block of Chelsea Street in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours of Sunday, September 15th into Monday, September 16, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered his unsecured vehicle and stole loose change.
- Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 8:21 p.m., Officers Andrew Slota and Robert Duffy responded to the Wawa at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifting suspect. The accused, 39-year-old Richard Stockum of Hemlock Drive in Lanoka Harbor was arrested for concealing a low value item of on his person. He was transported to headquarters, processed, and later released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting. He was also issued a separate traffic summons for driving with a suspended driver’s license.
