  • Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 3:40 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Applebee’s located at 404 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Krystena Runkle, of Bowline Street in Beachwood, NJ, for Possession of CDS. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Krystena Runkle was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of 50 Grams or Less of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, she received traffic summonses for Driving with a Suspended License, Suspended Registration,  CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Exhibit Documents. The vehicle she was operating was impounded.
  • Drug Arrest – On Sunday, November 6, 2016, at 10:20 p.m., Special Officer Robert Campolei was on patrol when he observed an occupied vehicle parked in the parking lot of Deerhead Lake. Upon speaking with the driver, 19-year-old Sean M. Flynn of Spray Drive in Beachwood, NJ, Special Officer Campolei detected an odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Sean Flynn and a 17-year-old male passenger from Forked River, for Possession of CDS. They were both transported to Police Headquarters and processed.  Sean M. Flynn was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The juvenile was charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was turned over to the custody of his parents.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, November 6, 2016, at 3:35 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Lane Place in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 25-year-old David A. Higgins of Fairchild Avenue in Morris Plains, NJ, on a Galloway Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $350. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. David A. Higgins was released after posting bail. In addition, he was issued traffic summonses for Speeding and Driving with a Suspended License.
  • Aggravated Assault on Police – On Friday, November 04, 2016, at 2:07 a.m., Sergeant Ronald Buxton and Officers Robert Duffy and George Resetar responded to a residence located on the 400 block of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor to assist a female who reported that she was trapped underneath a dresser. Upon arrival officers met with the caller, 54-year-old Colleen Marie of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, at the front door of the residence. Colleen Marie was irate and creating a disturbance in regard to a prior police response.  When Officers attempted to speak with her, she became even more aggressive and began breaking items within the residence. During the incident Colleen Marie became physical with the officers and began to kick, punch, and bite them. Officers were eventually able to bring Colleen Marie under control and placed her under arrest for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer.  Colleen Marie was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer with bail was set in the amount of $40,000. With the assistance of a bail bondsman, Colleen Marie posted bail.
  • Shoplifting – On Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a Shoplifting that occurred earlier in the morning. The store manager reported that a white male had shoplifted merchandise consisting of two boxes of Wawa brand K-cups coffee valued at $18.98, a breakfast Sizzli valued at $2.79, and two packs of Life Saver mints valued $9. The total theft is valued at $30.77. The incident was captured on video surveillance and is under investigation.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 6:37 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 200 block of Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor, for a theft report.  The victim reported that between 7:00 p.m. on November 2, 2016 and 6:00 a.m. on November 3, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his 2006 Ford F-350 and stole several items including an Excalibur Micro Cross bow, a fanny pack containing New Jersey and Pennsylvania hunting licenses, a first aid kit, a buck knife, and two New Jersey bow hunting permits valued at $1,370. The victim reported that he locked the vehicle, however no signs of forced entry could be located. The incident is under investigation.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 7:52 a.m. Officer Darrell Nick responded to Pheasant Run Court for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 9:00 p.m. on November 1, 2016 and 7:30 a.m. on November 2, 2016, an unknown person or persons damaged his girlfriend’s vehicle by putting two large scratch marks down the driver’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the roadway in front of the residence during the time of the incident. The damage is estimated at $500.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 12:40 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North and Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Gregory Giacini, Jr., of Independence Drive in Forked River, on an outstanding Ocean Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $89. Gregory Giacini was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters  and processed. He was released after posting bail.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 8:44 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 36-year-old Allison E. Connors of Ocean Gate, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean Gate Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500 and a Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500. Allison Connors was transported to Police Headquarters and processed.  She was turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department. In addition, Allison Connors received a traffic summons for Driving with a Suspended License.
  • Shoplifting On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 4:02 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the area of Bayberry Drive and Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of two shoplifters who had just fled from Walmart, 580 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, after committing the thefts.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 15-year-old male from Lanoka Harbor, and a 14-year-old female from Forked River for shoplifting. The loss prevention employee from Walmart reported that he observed the female conceal women’s cosmetics in her purse and the male juvenile conceal a men’s sweater, an American Horror Story DVD, and Nautica cologne. The juveniles then fled the store on foot without paying for the items. The juveniles were transported to Police Headquarters and processed. They were both charged on Juvenile Complaints with Shoplifting merchandise valued at $124. They were both released to their parents.
