• Drug Possession (Formal Charge) – On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 9:26 a.m., Officers Darrell Nick and Anthony Sarno responded to the Lacey Township High School in regard to a student who was found to be in possession of illegal drugs. The student, identified as a 15-year-old female from Forked River, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was turned over to the custody of her parent and school. She was later charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending.
• Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 11:04 a.m., Officers responded to the 700 block of Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The complainant stated that between October 19, 2013 and October 26, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered his residence and stole property valued at approximately $2,400. The property consisted of, but was not limited to: a laptop computer, a bicycle, a camera, and various tools. There were no signs of forced entry.
• Theft – On Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at 2:38 p.m., a Lacey Township High School student reported that between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, an unknown person stole his iPhone 4S, valued at $300, from his gym locker at the Lacey Township High School. The phone was later located on the roadway on Beach Boulevard in Forked River.
• DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, November 8, 2013, at 12:39 a.m., Officer Julie Barcalow conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Harrison Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 51-year-old Janice Henderson of Manasquan, NJ for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Janice Henderson was later released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
• Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Friday, November 8, 2013, at 7:21 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Parker Avenue in Forked River for a report of a theft. The complainant reported that between 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 and 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole her GPS, Nintendo 3DS, two mobile DVD players and loose change with a total value of $590.
• Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Friday, November 8, 2013, at 11:58 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Pine Street in Forked River for a theft. The complainant reported that between 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 and 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet and various documents with a total value of $24.
• Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Friday, November 8, 2013, at 5:22 p.m., Officers responded to Thomas Lane in Forked River for a report of Criminal Mischief. The complainant reported that some time during the overnight hours of Friday, November 8, 2013, an unknown person drove their vehicle on his front lawn damaging the lawn and bushes. Damage is estimated at under $500.
• Warrants (Arrest) – On Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 12:52 p.m., Officer John Simonson conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive North and Brentwood Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 34-year-old Robert M. Sitler of Forked River on four (4) outstanding warrants. Two of the warrants were issued by Lacey Township; one was for $500 and the second was for $300. The third warrant was issued by Brick Township for $500, and the last warrant was issued by Beachwood for $500. Robert Sitler was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail in the amount of $1800. In addition, he was issued traffic summonses for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, failure to inspect, unregistered vehicle, and uninsured vehicle.
• Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2:19 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the 1700 block of Parkside Drive in Forked River for a theft. The complainant reported that some time during the overnight hours of Saturday, November 9, 2013, an unknown person or persons smashed the rear window of his vehicle and stole his wallet. The total theft is estimated at $80, and the damage to the vehicle is estimated at $150.
• Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 3:30 a.m., Sergeant Paul Sullivan, Jr. was patrolling the Sea Breeze Development when he located a damaged residence on the 100 block of Arborridge Drive, Forked River. The damage consisted of a smashed front picture window valued at $800. A “porta-potty” nearby was also knocked over.
• Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 10:23 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy located four (4) damaged mirrors inside the bathrooms at Hebrew Park. Damage is estimated at $100.
• Warrants (Arrest) – On Monday, November 11, 2013, at 12:52 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Slota and Anthony Sarno responded to the 600 block of Fairview Lane in Forked River to serve warrants. Officers met with 27-year-old Michael R. Clancy of Forked River and placed him under arrest on two Robbinsville, NJ, warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued in the amount of $250 and warrant number two (2) was issued in the amount of $500. Michael Clancy was transported to police headquarters and was later turned over to the custody of Robbinsville Police.
• Theft – On Monday, November 11, 2013, at 2:51 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 500 block of Wynnewood Drive in Forked River for a theft. The complainant reported that between 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, and 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, an unknown person or persons stole the bumper off of the front of her vehicle; a white, 2002, Volkswagen Beetle, while it was parked at 15 Manchester Avenue in Forked River. The estimated value of the bumper is $1000.
