DUI/Simple Assault/Resisting Arrest (Arrest) – On Monday, May 23, 2016, at 10:16 a.m. Officer John Simonson responded to Lacey Liquors, 349 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of an intoxicated male who parked his vehicle on the grass median of the parking lot. As officers were responding, the intoxicated male was reported to have become aggressive towards a concerned citizen, eventually biting the citizen on the arm. When Officer Simonson arrived on the scene, the suspect, 26-year-old Patrick Anthony Craig of Prince Drive in Coplay, Pennsylvania, fled from Officer Simonson, after being advised he was under arrest. Officer Simonson was able to catch the suspect and take him into physical custody. Patrick Anthony Craig was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters and processed. Patrick Anthony Craig was charged with Resisting Arrest, Simple Assault, DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. Bail was set at $25,000 on the criminal charges. Patrick Anthony Craig was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, May 23, 2016, at 8:21 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Manchester Avenue and Lacey Road. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 43-year-old Frank Fellanto Jr. of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River, NJ, on an outstanding South Toms River Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $350. Frank Fellanto was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released ROR under the authority of the South Toms River Municipal Court Clerk.

Theft – On Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 5:27 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to a Wellesley Road residence in the Oakfield section of Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft. The victim reported that between May 12, 2016 and May 21, 2016 some person or persons stole a Redmax gas-powered backpack blower valued at $525.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 12:39 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 South in the area of Lakeside Drive South. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Robert A. Britton of Briar Mills Lane in Brick, NJ on a Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $730 and two outstanding Neptune Township Municipal Court Warrants totaling $800. Robert Britton was transported to Lacey Township Police Department where he was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police.

Warrant Arrest & Possession of Heroin – On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 9:29 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol in the area of Bay Way in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township when he conducted a motor vehicle stop on Clairmore Avenue near the intersection of Seagull Avenue. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kristalyn Steadman of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, NJ on an outstanding Mercer County Sheriff’s Department no-bail warrant and two Manchester Township Municipal Court warrants in the amounts of $500 and $250. Kristalyn Steadman was also found to be in possession of Heroin, a hypodermic syringe, and drug paraphernalia. Kristalyn Steadman was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bail was set at $2,500. Kristalyn Steadman was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 5:54 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the area of Drexel Road and Cambridge Road in the Oakfield section of Lanoka Harbor for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the occupants, Officer Sarno observed a bag of Marijuana. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Timothy Odom of Drexel Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ for possession of Marijuana. Timothy Odom was transported to the Lacey Township Police Department where he was processed and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Criminal Mischief – On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 6:51 a.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to a Lakeside Drive North residence in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The homeowner reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, an unknown person or persons damaged his mailbox. Investigation at the scene indicated that a vehicle left the roadway and entered the front yard of property prior to colliding with the mailbox. The damage to the mailbox is estimated at $150.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 3:03 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that a female finished shopping in the store and brought the merchandise she selected to a self-checkout register. The loss prevention employee reported that the female failed to scan multiple items and put them in a shopping bag. The female then reportedly attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 44-year-old Maryam Afsharym of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, NJ for Shoplifting. Maryam Afsharym was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with shoplifting $38.64 worth of store merchandise.
