Stolen Vehicle/Recovered– On Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 7:47 a.m., Officer Schaffer responded to the Cornerstone Apartments, 900 Gary Smith Way, for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer Schaffer met with the victim who reported prior to leaving for work, they noticed that their car was missing.  It was determined that the vehicle was stolen.    Later on April 1, 2022, at 12:30 a.m., this agency received a call from the New Jersey State Police, who reported the stolen vehicle was recovered in Carteret, NJ.  This investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Mischief- On Monday, April 1, 2022, at 3:03 p.m., Officer Hutman responded to Gille Park for a report of juveniles who were actively damaging the bathrooms in Gille Park.  Officer Hutman arrived on scene and was later able to identify one of the juveniles who was responsible.  The juvenile was taken into custody and later turned over to a guardian.  This investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Mischief- On Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 8:37 a.m., Officer Biel responded to Gille Park for a report of criminal mischief. Upon arrival Officer Biel met with the caller who indicated when he arrived at the fields, he observed damage to a lacrosse net and a soccer net.  The estimated damage to the nets are $160.  While on scene, Officer Biel also located graffiti on the wall of a bathroom.

Criminal Mischief– On Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 7:28 p.m. Officer Keefe conducted a park check of Gille Park.   Officer Keefe discovered that the light fixture in the men’s bathroom, located near the softball fields, had been broken. In addition, Officer Keefe located graffiti to various equipment.  The estimated cost to repair the damage is approximately $600.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, April 4, 2022, at 2:28 p.m., Officer Calhoun was patrolling the area of Parker Avenue and Lakeside Drive where he conducted a pedestrian stop. During the encounter it was determined that the individual, Amber Hauser, 20, of Brick Township, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of Brick Township. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was later released on her own recognizance.
