DUI (Arrest) – At 7:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Lacey Road for speeding. The driver, 47-year-old William P. Snyder of Cable Avenue in Beachwood was arrested for DUI. William P. Snyder was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Speeding, and Reckless Driving. The vehicle being operated by William P. Snyder was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, June 29, 2015, at 1:48 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop of a driver, identified as 34-year-old Amanda Malinowksi of Brentwood Place in Forked River, NJ, for outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lumberton Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Mount Laurel Township Municipal Court in the amount of $300. Amanda Malinowski was arrested, transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, and processed. Amanda Malinowski was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. She was also charged on a motor vehicle summons with driving while suspended.

Theft – On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 10:19 p.m., a resident of Devon Street in Forked River responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report that a laptop computer was stolen from her residence. The resident reported that between Sunday, June 21, 2015 and Wednesday, June 24, 2015, a gray Lenovo laptop computer was stolen from her residence. The value of her the computer is estimated at $500.

Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 3:45 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop of a driver, identified as 35-year-old Marisa Conklin of Lanoka Harbor. Marisa Conklin was charged on a motor vehicle summons with driving while suspended. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Margaret Vannell of Manchester, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding $250 Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant. Margaret Vannell was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail.

Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 12:31 a.m., a driver responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown person struck her vehicle with a rock as she was traveling down Western Boulevard. The driver advised Officer Elton Copes that the incident occurred as she was driving east on Western Boulevard near the Village Lutheran Church. The damage to the vehicle, estimated at $500, was located on the hood above the front passenger-side wheel.

Suspicious Incident – On Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 1:24 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1400 Block of Earie Way in Forked River for a report of window having been tampered with between Saturday, June 6, 2015 and Saturday, June 27, 2015. It could not be determined if the residence was entered and no items were reported missing.

Shoplifting – On Friday, June 26, 2015, at 6:55 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 N in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an employee in custody for shoplifting. Loss prevention employees had the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Michael T. Butler of Christopher Avenue in Trenton, NJ, detained in the loss prevention office. Loss prevention employees reported that Michael Butler entered the men’s bathroom with merchandise and removed the merchandise from its packaging then attempted to exit the store without paying for the merchandise. Michael Butler was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting $17.11 worth of merchandise.

Strong Arm Robbery – On Friday, June 26, 2015, at 8:48 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the Walmart for a report of a shoplifting incident involving an assault. It was reported that a Walmart Loss Prevention employee observed a white male, approximately 6′ 1″ tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair shoplifting merchandise. The employee reportedly approached the suspect as the suspect exited the store. The suspect then reportedly punched the loss prevention employee in the face and fled on foot. The male suspect was last observed running across Route 9 into the wooded area adjacent to the Spring Oak Assisted Living prior to police being notified. Officers responded to the area and conducted a search of the wooded area. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department responded with a K-9 and conducted a search as well with negative results. Prior to committing the physical assault, the suspect was believed to be in the process of shoplifting a $6 item. Due to the assault to facilitate his fleeing from the theft, this matter is being investigated as a robbery. Theft – On Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 6:45 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the Rite Aid, located at 101 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that while he was shopping in Rite-Aid between 6:15 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked, 2005, red Toyota Camry in the parking lot and stole his Black and Gray Vans wallet. The wallet contained approximately $8 in cash, a driver’s license, credit card and other miscellaneous cards. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $27.

Theft – On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 1:39 p.m., a man responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report the theft of his Disability Parking Placard. He reported that on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 some person or persons stole his disability parking placard that was hanging from the rearview mirror of his vehicle while his vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Walmart. He reported that he left the windows of his vehicle down while he was shopping inside Walmart and upon returning to his vehicle approximately twenty minutes later, he discovered that the parking placard had been stolen.
