Fraud- On Friday, July 8, 2022, 2:39 p.m., Officer Nilon responded to police headquarters for a report of credit card fraud. The victim reported on June 1, 2022, someone purchased a yearly computer program subscription using his credit card. The value of the unauthorized purchase was $106.61.
Theft- On Friday, July 8, 2022, at 8:45 p.m., Officer Gant responded to police headquarters for a report of a theft. The victim reported their unsecured bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at the Lacey Township High School during the evening of July 8, 2022. The value of the bicycle was estimated at $100.00.
DWI- On Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 8:48 p.m., Officer Keefe responded to Wawa, 800 Lacey Road, for a report of a vehicle parked in front of the store, occupied by a male driver who was nodding out. Upon arrival, Officer Keefe observed the running vehicle and made contact with the driver, Matthew R. Leroy, 49, of Sussex Place, Forked River. Following an investigation at the scene, Matthew was placed under arrest and was transported to headquarters. At the conclusion of processing, Matthew was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving then released in accordance to John’s Law.
Fraud- On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 3:10 p.m., Officer Hutman responded to police headquarters for a report of a fraud. Officer Hutman met with the victim who reported on June 15, 2022, and June 16, 2022, an unknown actor(s) had operated an unknown vehicle bearing his expired New Jersey Temporary Registration. The victim reported he learned this after receiving toll violations in the mail, which indicated his temporary registration was attached to vehicle while traveling through toll plazas in North Jersey. The victim stated the temporary plates had been turned into the dealership on June 11, 2022.
DWI- On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 1:14 p.m., Officer Lee was flagged down by a subject who informed him of a possible intoxicated driver in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, 403 Route 9 North. Officer Lee made contact with the driver of the vehicle, William Culver, 65, of Normandie Driver, Forked River, who exhibited signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, William was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. William was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving and improper parking. William was released in accordance to John’s Law.
