- Residential Burglary – On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 4:02 p.m., Officer Keefe responded to the 500 block of Chelsea Street for a report of a burglary. The homeowner reported that between 7:15 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on February 6, 2018, an unknown person(s) entered the rear door of her residence, which was locked at the time; force was needed to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect stole assorted jewelry, a television, movie tickets, gift cards, and a Coach purse. The value of the stolen items is estimated at approximately $2000. This incident remains under investigating.
- Theft of Gas – On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 9:25 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to the Wawa on Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft of gas. The female driver of the vehicle informed the gas attendant that she was not able to pay and left. A vehicle registration was obtained and attempts to locate the registered have been made. The Gasoline was valued at $7.00.
- Theft – On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 2:44 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 500 block of Brentwood Road, Forked River, for a theft from a residence. The homeowner reported that she arrived home after taking her husband to a doctor appointment to find several pieces of jewelry missing. The theft was reported to have taken place between January 2, 2018 and February 6, 2018. The estimated amount of the jewelry is $2350.00. No forced entry was found. This incident remains under investigation.
- DUI/Warrants- On Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11:54 p.m., Officers Lee, Watkins, and Holt responded to the Applebee’s, 404 Route 9 S, Forked River, for a disorderly male subject in the parking lot of the restaurant. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32 year-old Shane J. Henry, of Park Place Manchester, NJ, for DUI. Several outstanding traffic warrants from numerous jurisdictions were located in the amount of $4046.00. Shane K. Henry was arrested, processed, and transported to Ocean County Jail after failing to pay the outstanding traffic warrants. He was charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breathe testing, and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Warrant Arrest – On Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11:39 p.m., Officer Elton Copes conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Route 9. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Kristian L. Wilson of Surf Avenue, Beachwood, NJ, for an outstanding warrant out of Berkeley Township Municipal Court for $350.00. Kristian L. Wilson was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kristian L. Wilson was issued motor vehicle summonses for Unregistered Vehicle and Failure to Observe Traffic Signals. He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, February 4, 2018, 12:56 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a motor vehicle stop for failure to maintain lane on Lacey Road and Harrison Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 31-year-old Bryan I. Mancheno of Curtis Place in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. Bryan I. Mancheno was transported to police headquarters, processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Fraud – On Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:28 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant stated that approximately three weeks ago, he communicated with a woman on Facebook and they planned on meeting each other. The woman asked if he could wire $1200 to her to pay an outstanding bill and to buy airline tickets so they could meet. After the transaction was completed the woman deleted him from her Facebook and has not responded back to him.
- Theft – On Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 12:23 p.m., Officers Andrew Slota and Scott Anderson responded to the Walmart on Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of theft. Investigation at the scene led to 22-year-old Alexus M. Porter of Atlantic City Boulevard, Bayville, NJ, being charged with the theft of $100.00 cash. Alexus M. Porter received a non-indictable summons for Theft and was released.
- DUI Arrest with Motor Vehicle Accident – On Friday, February 2, 2018, at 5:32 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Scott Anderson responded to the intersection of Lakeside Drive North and Deerhead Lake Drive for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Nicholas B. Cicerello of Deguise Street, Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. Nicholas Cicerello was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Failure to Stop, Reckless, and Headlights Required. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting – On Friday, February 2, 2018, at 2:38 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Scott Anderson responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led o the arrest of 55-year-old Catherine L. Catananzi of Chipmunk Court, Whiting, NJ, for shoplifting $420.54 of various items. Catherine L. Catananzi was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after being charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting.
