- Burglary and Theft (Multiple Residences) – Beginning on Sunday, February 5, 2017, Lacey Police responded to a string of residential burglaries in the Bay Way neighborhood of Lanoka Harbor, including but not limited to the 700 block of Sinclair Avenue, the 400 block of Sinclair Avenue, the 300 block of Sinclair Avenue, the 400 block of Barramore Avenue, and Chestnut Drive. Lacey Police Detectives processed each scene and reviewed numerous video surveillance systems to identify a suspect thought to be connected with each burglary. On Thursday, February 9, 2017, Lacey Police Detectives conducted surveillance at the home of the suspect, identified as 30 year-old Michael L. Dautorio of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. During the surveillance, Michael Dautorio entered a vehicle and was followed from his residence to a Toms River neighborhood where he exited. While Lacey Police Detectives continued surveillance, Michael Dautorio was observed running from a home wearing latex gloves and a ski mask. Michael Dautorio was captured by Lacey Police Detectives Keith Pearce, Brian Flynn, and Kymberly Gudgeon prior to reentering the same vehicle. During his detainment, Michael Dautorio was found in possession of a shoulder bag containing various tools, flashlights, and gloves. Additionally, an amount of cash was recovered from him. Detectives confirmed with a local homeowner that Michael Dautorio had entered her home and stole cash. The Toms River Township Police Department responded and arrested Michael Dautorio. He was charged with the Burglary and Theft in Toms River and ultimately lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. He is being held on a no-bail warrant. Lacey Police Detectives obtained search warrants for Michael Dautorio’s Drew Avenue residence in Lanoka Harbor, along with his two vehicles. During the search warrant execution, property linking Michael Dautorio to several of the Lanoka Harbor burglaries were recovered. Additional property believed to be connected with other burglaries in Toms River and Lakewood Townships were recovered. Criminal charges are being prepared for six additional burglaries. At the time of these incidents, Michael Dautorio was already out on bail for charges stemming from residential burglaries in Berkeley Township, NJ. The investigation included assistance from the Toms River and Berkeley Township Police Detective Bureaus, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit.
- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 12:30 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling the parking lot of Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, when he observed the accused, identified as 44-year-old Lorraine Schuster, of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, exiting the store. Officer Sarno learned she had an outstanding Allentown Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $750 for her arrest. Officer Sarno arrested and transported Lorraine Schuster to police headquarters. She was processed and released.
- Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 9:00 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Michael Baldasari responded to the 700 block of Stephanie Court in Forked River for an unrelated dispute. While at the residence it was discovered that the accused, 44-year-old Anthony Contey of Stephanie Court in Forked River, had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1866. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Anthony Contey was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 7:50 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Kearney Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a passenger, identified as 20-year-old Louis V. Dautorio 4th, of Center Street in Forked River, on three outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $250 and warrant number two (2) was also issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court for another $250. Warrant number three (3) was issued by the Bedminster Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Louis V. Dautorio 4th was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was ultimately lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in Default of bail.
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 5:19 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Clearwater Drive and Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, identified as 22-year-old Tyshon L. Jackson, of Alden Drive in Toms River, NJ, had a suspended driver’s license and two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Jackson Township Municipal Court in the amount of $150 bail and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Lavallette Municipal Court in the amount of $191 bail. Tyshon L. Jackson was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released after posting bail. In addition, Tyshon L. Jackson received traffic summonses for Speeding, Expired Registration and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.
- DUI with Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Monday, February 6, 2017, at 8:57 p.m., Officers Martin Julian, Andrew Slota and Patrick Watkins responded to the area of Argos Farm, located at 1250 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 30-year-old Michael Dautorio of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. Michael Dautorio was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Failure to Exhibit Valid Registration, Failure to Exhibit Valid Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Sunday, February 5, 2017, at 5:32 p.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel and Evan Androcy responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Crystal M. Algor of Saratoga Lake Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $41.42. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Crystal M. Algor was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Drug and Underage Consumption of Alcohol Arrests – On Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:36 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lacey Road and Manchester Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the three passengers in the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Arlington A. Spencer of Center Street, in Lakewood, NJ, for Possession of CDS, 20-year-old Tyesha S. Conover-Hart of Main Street in Toms River, NJ, for Underage Consumption of Alcohol, and 20-year-old Tori M. Britton of Woodlake Manor in Lakewood, NJ, for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. Arlington A. Spencer was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of 50 Grams or Less of Marijuana. Tyesha S. Conover-Hart was released after receiving a criminal summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. In addition, Tyesha received a traffic summons for Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. Tori M. Britton was released after receiving a criminal summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. In addition, she received a traffic summons for Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Shawna M. Cephas of Center Street in Lakewood, NJ received traffic summonses for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Improper Right turn on Red.
- Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:55 a.m., Officer Charles May responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Brandon T. Weaver of Enterprise Drive in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $31.16. In addition, further investigation revealed that he had an outstanding warrant issued from the Manchester Township Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Brandon T. Weaver was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged on a criminal warrant for Shoplifting and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- DUI Arrest – On Friday, February 3, 2017, at 11:18 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Baldwin Street and Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 54-year-old Joseph D. Appello, Jr., of Crestwood Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Joseph D. Appello, Jr., was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests, Reckless Driving, Improper Use of High and Low Headlight Beams, Speeding and Unsafe Lane Change. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Drug Arrest – On Friday, February 3, 2017, at 9:46 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lacey Road and Caldwell Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 29-year-old Nichole M. Nacca, of Brentwood Place in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Nichole M. Nacca was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, she received traffic summonses for Speeding and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
- Burglary Arrest (Auto) – On Friday, February 3, 2017, at 12:22 a.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Anthony Sarno responded to the residence of a 15-year-old male juvenile from Forked River, whose guardian reported that he was coming home with property not belonging to him. Investigation at the scene revealed that the juvenile male had burglarized several vehicles in the neighborhood in the past week. The juvenile male was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and charged on Juvenile Complaints with Burglary and Theft. He was released to his guardian pending an appearance.
- Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 5:19 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the 17-year-old male driver from Forked River, for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. The driver was released after being charged on Juvenile complaints with Possession of Marijuana More than 50 Grams and Distribution of Marijuana. In addition he received traffic summonses for Speeding, Window Tint and CDS in a Motor Vehicle. He was released to the custody of his mother.
