Eluding (Arrest) – On Friday, December 11, 2015, at 3:06 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the area of Station Drive near Davis Avenue in the Forked River Pines section of the township for a report of an all-terrain vehicle that was driving down the roadway at a high rate of speed. While responding to the area, Officer Jason Lee observed the vehicle traveling west on Lakeside Drive South near Olds Street. Officer Lee activated the lights of his emergency vehicle and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Lakeside Drive South. As Officer Jason Lee exited his patrol vehicle, the suspect fled the scene traveling down Lakeside Drive South at a high rate of speed. Officer Jason Lee followed the suspect vehicle but stopped a short distance later when he determined that the driver had no intent to stop for the police vehicle with emergency lights and sirens activated. Officer Jason Lee stopped the pursuit so as to reduce the potential risk to the public that was being caused by the reckless driving of the suspect. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Thomas R. Luce 3rd of 211 John Street in Forked River, NJ for Eluding. Bail was set at $50,000. Thomas R. Luce 3rd was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. The vehicle was impounded as evidence of the offense.

DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 7:03 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the area of McDonalds, located at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of an intoxicated driver who just left McDonalds in a red Toyota Camry. A short while later, a resident from the 1000 block of Pensacola Road in the Forked River Beach section of the Township reported that a red Toyota Camry had just crashed into his garbage cans and mailbox and fled the scene. A witness followed the vehicle to a residence on Aquarius Court in the Forked River Beach section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old Anthony O. Baisi of Ewart Road in Forked River, NJ. Anthony Baisi was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, December 15, 2015, at 2:19 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the Walmart, located 590 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of shoplifting. Loss prevention officers reported that a male subject attempted to leave the store without paying for a Linksys wireless AC mini USB adapter valued at $59.97. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 19-year-old Carlos Llanos-Llaque of Whitcomb Road in Forked River, NJ, for shoplifting. Carlos Llanos-Llaque was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged with Shoplifting.

Warrant Arrest – On December 12, 2015, at 3:23 p.m. Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the area of Station Drive in the Forked River Pines area of the township for a report of a suspicious male. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old Mark J. Walicke of Nantucket Road in Forked River, NJ on an outstanding Bordentown Township Municipal Court traffic warrant in the amount of $1,164. Mark Walicke was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released by the Bordentown Township Municipal Court Clerk on his own recognizance (ROR).

Warrant Arrest – On Friday, December 11, 2015, at 8:33 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the Lacey Inn, located at 229 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of an intoxicated male who was reportedly harassing tenants in another room. The caller reported that 50-year-old Gregory Platt of Room #23 of the Lacey Inn had been banging on the door to her room for approximately 40 minutes and then grabbed her arm when she finally opened the door. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Gregory Platt on a Milltown Boro Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. Gregory Platt was transported to Lacey Township Police headquarters where he was processed and then released by the Milltown Boro Municipal Court Clerk on his own recognizance (ROR).

Theft – On Friday, December 11, 2015, at 1:44 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to Walmart, 580 Rt. 9 N in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of theft. The victim reported that while she was shopping in the store someone stole her wallet from inside her purse. The victim stated that she left her purse on the child seat portion of the shopping cart as she shopped. She believes that while she was in the pet aisle she was purposely distracted by a female subject while the male went into her purse and stole her wallet. The wallet was described as a black Coach brand valued at $100. The contents of the stolen wallet included $800 in cash and various credit cards. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored Chevrolet Trailblazer and the matter is actively being investigated.

Warrant Arrest – On December 11, 2015, at 9:58 a.m., Officer Jason Lee was on patrol when he observed Ashley Frank sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle traveling near the intersection of Lakeside Drive South and Route 9 in the Forked River Section of the township. Officer Lee was aware of an active arrest warrant for Ashley Frank’s arrest and conducted a traffic stop of the motor vehicle. Ashley Frank was placed under arrest on the outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no-bail warrant. Ashley Frank was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and then turned over to the custody of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, December 11, 2015, at 3:37 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey was on patrol when he stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 9 near Taylor Lane in the Forked River section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 37-year-old Michael Ippolitto of Pasadena Drive in Forked River, NJ for DUI. Michael Ippolitto was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he refused to provide breath samples. Michael Ippolitto was processed and charged with DUI, Failure to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, December 10, 2015, at 8:37 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was assisting Officer Anthony Sarno during a traffic stop in front of a residence on Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that an occupant of the residence, 57-year-old Michael A. Araneo had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court traffic warrant in the amount $1,000. Michael Araneo was placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail utilizing a bail bondsman.

Warrant and Possession of Paraphernalia (Arrest) – On Thursday, December 10, 2015, at 8:16 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol in the area of Hazelton Avenue when he observed a vehicle with a suspended registration traveling on east on Hazelton Avenue in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Caitlyn Sheeran of Walnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $233. Caitlyn Sheeran was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail. Caitlyn Sheeran was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for having an empty wax fold of Heroin in her possession. She was also charged with Driving while Suspended.

Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 10:43 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was investigating a concern in the parking lot of the Wawa located at 800 Lacey Road in the Forked River section of the township when he identified the existence of an outstanding warrant for 31-year-old Deborah L. Applegate of Oceanic Drive in Toms River, NJ issued out of the Wall Township Municipal Court in the amount of $300. Deborah Applegate was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 1:37 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy and Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the Kohls store, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, NJ, for a report of shoplifting. A loss prevention employee informed Officer Androcy that two male subjects were in the store and one hid two speakers under his coat after removing the security sensors. The suspect carrying the concealed items exited the store and fled back into the store upon seeing Officer Androcy. Officer Androcy chased the suspect and apprehended him in the store. The shoplifted property was retrieved after the suspect had discarded it as he fled from Officer Androcy. The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Michael S. Rogala of 1916 Route 35 in Wall, NJ. The second suspect was arrested a short while later after he attempted to leave the store. He was identified as 53-year-old Robert Migliore of 167 Denton Lane in Jackson, NJ. The suspects were turned over to the Lacey Township Detective Bureau for questioning in several other incidents of shoplifting throughout Ocean and Monmouth counties. Michael Rogala was processed and charged with Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest by Flight, and Possession of Suboxone without a Valid Prescription. Bail was set at $10,000. Robert Migliore was charged with Shoplifting with his bail set at $2,500. Both suspects were transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. Robert Migliore’s vehicle was impounded as a part of the investigation.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 3:24 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed a male subject conceal two bottles of 80w-90 Valvoline gear oil in a backpack and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. The suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile male, was taken into custody and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. The juvenile was processed ant turned over to the custody of his mother. The juvenile was charged on a Juvenile Complaint with Shoplifting.

Theft – On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 9:45 a.m. Officer Jesse Dalziel was on patrol when he was stopped by a resident on the 100 block of Seabright Road in the Forked River Beach section of the township who wanted to report a theft. The victim reported that between 10:00 p.m. on December 7, 2015 and 4:00 a.m. on December 8, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole a Star Shower Laser Light and an extension cord from the front yard of the residence. The total value of the stolen property was $59.99.
