- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, December 29, 2016, at 9:51 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to 540 Lacey Road for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 56-year-old passenger, James E. Grove of Letts Landing Road, Waretown, NJ, for an outstanding traffic warrant for 39:4-50 out of Ocean Township. Grove was transported to police headquarters and processed for the warrant with bail in the amount of $100.00. He was released after posting bail.
- Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 10:03 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Taylor Lane for a driver with a suspended license. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 47-year-old Ronald Johnson of Central Avenue, Waretown, NJ, for an outstanding traffic warrant for 39:4-56 out of Sayreville Borough. Johnson was transported to police headquarters and processed for the warrant with bail in the amount of $139.00. Ronald Johnson was released after posting bail. He also was issued a summons for Driving While Suspended.
- Theft- On Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 12:52 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 600 block of Wilbert Avenue for a report of a stolen credit card. The owner reported seeing two fraudulent charges on her credit card and reported this activity to have occurred on 12/27/2016 at 9:11 a.m. & 9:29 a.m. Investigation revealed a suspect and charges are pending.
- CDS Possession – On Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 7:24 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Clearwater Drive for failure to maintain lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 38-year-old Tracy L. Steins of Maple Street, Waretown, NJ, along with passenger, 42-year-old Gabrielle Vasquez-Valencia of Maple Street, Waretown, NJ for CDS possession. Steins and Vasquez-Valencia were transported to police headquarters and processed. Gabrielle Vasquez-Valencia was released on a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and Tracy L. Steins was released on a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams, along with motor vehicle summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane, Fictitious Plates, Driving While Suspended, Uninsured Motorist and CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
- Suspicious Incident – On Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 3:15 p.m., Officers Daniel Ricciardella and Brian Holt responded to 500 Route 9 North (Lanlac Building) for a report of theft of garbage from the back of the building. Caller stated that two white males, one wearing a grey hat and grey sweatshirt and the other wearing dark clothes and carrying a black backpack, removed a garbage bag from the garbage container in the back of the building. Officers were unable to locate any suspects matching the description at the scene. At this time, it is unknown what the garbage bag contained.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 7:11 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to an aggressive driver complaint heading east bound on Lacey Road, west of the parkway. Officer Sarno made contact with a vehicle matching the description and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near Arlington Avenue. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32-year-old Michelle M. Anstee, Mizzen Way, Waretown, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on motor vehicle summons for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to exhibit an Insurance Card. Michelle Anstee was also issued a criminal summons for DUI with a Minor Child in the Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary/Theft – On Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 7:06 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the Heritage Apartments, Newark Ave, reference a burglary and theft. The owner reported that someone entered her apartment and stole $100.00 from her purse that was located in the apartment. The owner believed she closed the door when she went to visit a friend in the building. No signs of forced entry were observed.
- DUI Arrest – On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 10:37 p.m., Officers Adam Bylsma and Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Haines Street near Manchester Avenue for failure to maintain lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 37-year-old Jennifer M. Delconte of Central Boulevard, Bayville, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after receiving traffic summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane, Reckless Driving and DUI. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) – On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 8:00 p.m., Officer Adam Bylsma took a report of Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) to a traffic sign on Clubhouse Drive. The sign was covered with brown paint. The damage was estimated at $50.00.
- Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) – On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 6:37 p.m., Officer Adam Bylsma took a report of Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) to a stop sign on Commodore Drive. The sign was covered with a black colored sticker. The sign was repaired by Lacey DPW. The damage was estimated at $100.00.
