Theft- On Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 4:20 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Second Lake Beach for a reported theft. The victim reported that while at the beach, an unknown actor(s) stole personal belongings from inside his vehicle. Included in the theft was various credit cards and an amount of cash.
Shoplifting- On Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 10:47 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to Walmart for a shoplifting. During the investigation Officer McKee determined that the suspect, Jennifer Sinopoli, 46, attempted to leave to the store without paying for merchandise valued at $79. Sinopoli was placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting. She was released pending a Court appearance.
DWI – On Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 9:33 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Charlie Brown’s for careless driving. During the course of the stop it was determined that the driver, 32-year-old Daniel Calvillo of Beachwood, was operating the vehicle under the influence. Daniel was arrested for DWI and transported to headquarters. Calvillo was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Careless Driving.
Fraud- On Monday, September 2, 2019, at 10:49 a.m., Officer Randy Plis met with a Township resident that reported identity theft. The caller stated that unknown actor(s) opened fraudulent credit cards in his name. The cards were used to make purchases including a computer valued at $2,344.
DWI- On Monday, September 2, 2019, at 11:22 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop in a commercial parking lot on Route 9. During the stop, Officer Keefe conducted a field sobriety test on the driver, Lori Kirk, 44. Kirk was ultimately arrested for DWI and transported to headquarters. Kirk was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Unregistered Vehicle.
Theft- On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., the owner a Route 9 cell phone tower reported that two natural gas generators were stolen from inside a secured area. The actor(s) reportedly gained access and disconnected the units valued at $25,000 each. The matter is being investigated by the detective bureau.
Attempted Theft- On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at 4:55 p.m., Officer Michael Hutman responded to the Lacey Business Park in reference to criminal mischief. A business owner reported that one of his vehicle’s developed an exhaust leak and he took it for repairs. The mechanic contacted the owner reporting that someone had attempted to cut the catalytic converter from the vehicle. The damage is estimated at $200.
DWI– On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 7:18 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Michael Baldasari responded to the parking lot of Retro Fitness for a report of an impaired driver. During the course of the investigation, the driver, 31-year-old Elizabeth Jones of Asbury Park, was arrested for DWI. Jones was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Open Container.
