Theft– On Friday, August 23, 2019, at 1:58 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to 603 Clairmore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The complainant reported that during overnight hours someone attempted to enter his vehicle. He reported that he then went back into his residence and observed a Canon camera, several lenses and other equipment to be missing from his bedroom. Officers returned to the residence on Sunday, August 25th after the proceeds were discovered at a second-hand store in Pleasantville, NJ. The roommate of the victim, Craig Powers, 34, was arrested for the theft and several outstanding warrants from various jurisdictions. Powers was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility without bail.
Warrant Arrest- On Friday, August 23, 2019 at 4:46 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Andrew Slota served an arrest warrant for Stafford Township. William Conroy, 52, was arrested and turned over to Stafford Police without incident.
DWI- On Sunday, August 25, 2019, at 12:45 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop for speeding on Route 9 near Station Drive. During the stop, the driver, Lazaro Caseiro, was arrested for DWI. Caseiro was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding.
DWI- On Sunday, August 25, 2019, at 6:45 a.m., Officer Michael Hein located a male subject asleep in his vehicle. During the investigation, Nicholas Gardner, 26, was determined to be under the influence. Gardner was arrested and issued summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving.
Arrest- On Monday, August 26, 2019, at 5:38 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop for a suspended driver. It was discovered that the driver, Robert Hill, 57, had an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued by the Toms River Municipal Court with a bail amount of $350.00. R. Hill was arrested and later released after the bail was satisfied. Hill was also issued a summons for Driving While Suspended.
DWI with Accident- On Monday, August 26, 2019, at 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Bay Way for the report of a two car motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, one of the drivers, Kenneth Vanness, 65, was found to be intoxicated. Vanness was arrested and issued summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving.
DWI/Warrant Arrest– On Monday, August 26, 2019, at 10:38 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 for speeding. During the stop, the driver, Richard Drezek, 44, was found to be under the influence. In addition, an outstanding $500 warrant issued by the South Toms River Municipal Court was discovered. Drezek was arrested and charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Samples, and Reckless Driving. Drezek was released on his own recognizance after the bail was satisfied.
Warrant Arrest- On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at 9:27 p.m., officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Briar Road and Cedar Avenue. The driver, 29-year-old Richard Forlenza, had multiple warrants for his arrest as well as a suspended driver’s license. Forlenza was arrested and lodged at the Ocean County Correctional Facility without bail.
