- Shoplifting – on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 3:16 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Joseph P. Sinopoli of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $13.99. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Joseph P. Sinopoli was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 1:27 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas responded to the 1900 block of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River for a theft. The complainant reported that between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on August 23, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his residence and stole a black LG Smart Phone valued at $100 from a dresser drawer in his bedroom. The incident remains under investigation.
- Shoplifting – On Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 11:52 a.m., Officer Charles May responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Michael B. Morgan of James Street in Toms River, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $197. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Michael B. Morgan was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 7:33 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 2400 block of Lake Drive in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that at approximately 12:00 a.m. on August 22, 2017, he witnessed a vehicle slow down in front of his residence and a passenger in the vehicle struck the mailbox with a baseball bat. The vehicle then left the area. The damage to the mailbox is estimated at $20. No description was provided.
- Warrant Arrest – On Monday, August 21, 2017, at 9:29 p.m., Officers Christopher Meyler and Anthony Sarno responded to the 2100 block of Hollywood Drive in Forked River, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old Robert J. Charlie of Serpentine Drive East in Bayville, NJ, on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court no-bail warrant. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Robert Charlie was turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department.
- DUI Arrest – On Monday, August 21, 2017, at 4:27 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive North near Steuben Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 34-year-old Robert D. Hergert of Ward Place in Florham Park, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Robert D. Hergert was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Drug Arrest – On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 11:18 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno observed an occupied suspicious vehicle parked in the west parking lot of Clune Park, located at 740 Sandyhook Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male juvenile from Forked River, for possession of CDS. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. The juvenile male was charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, he received traffic summonses for CDS in a Motor Vehicle and a Provisional Drivers License Violation. The juvenile male was turned over to the custody of his father.
- Shoplifting and Assault – On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 11:35 a.m., Officers Darrell Nick and Brian Holt responded to Lacey Marine, located at 308 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report a shoplifting. The store employee observed the suspect conceal $139.98 worth of store merchandise in his shorts and upon confronting the suspect the store employee was assaulted. The suspect then fled the scene in a pickup truck. A description was provided and a short time later Officer Daniel Ricciardella located the pickup truck on Davenports Landing in Forked River, and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Frank O. Pulido, Jr., of Wynnewood Road in Forked River, NJ for the Shoplifting and assault. Frank Pulido, Jr was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was charged on a criminal warrant with one count of Robbery, for utilizing force during a theft. In addition, Frank Pulido, Jr was issued traffic summonses for Driving with a Suspended License, Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop, Failure to Signal, and Failure to Change Address on his Driver’s License. Frank Pulido, Jr was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 1:38 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop on Adolphus Street near Briggs Avenue North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 36-year-old Jesus Morales-Lezama of Adolphus Street in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Jesus Morales-Lezama was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Unlicensed Driver, and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 9:52 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop on Beach Boulevard near Cape Cod Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Ryan A. Burlew of Oakwood Drive in Forked River, on an outstanding Colts Neck Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1000. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Ryan A. Burlew was released after posting bail. In addition, he received a traffic summons for Maintenance of Lamps.
- Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 9:29 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe responded to the 1900 block of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River for a disturbance. During the investigation, 40-year-old Nicole Norris of Deerhead Lake Drive was arrested on two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $750, and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $670. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. She was later turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department.
- Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 11:09 a.m., Officers Brian Holt and John D. Simonson responded to the 2300 block of Maple Road in Forked River. 51-year-old Todd Plessis was arrested on three outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Barnegat Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $150 and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Cherry Hill Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $306. Warrant number three (3) was also issued from the Cherry Hill Township Municipal Court and was in the bail amount of $267. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Todd Plessis was released ROR by both courts.
- DUI with Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Friday, August 18, 2017, at 6:39 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Brian Holt responded to the parking lot of Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a suspicious person. The caller reported that a male subject in silver Toyota Corolla was driving around the parking lot of Walmart and was screaming at customers. Upon arrival Officer Verwey observed the vehicle travel behind Walmart and crash into the building. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 51-year-old Aidan Hogan of White Oak Lane in Old Bridge, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Aidan Hogan was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Improper Backing, and Failure to Stop for an Emergency Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
