DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 1:51 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to Wawa, 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, in reference to a report of an intoxicated driver parked at the gas pumps. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old Christopher B. Molla of Anchor Avenue in Manahawkin, NJ, for DUI. Christopher Molla was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Exhibit Insurance card. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 12:41 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Lacey Road near Arlington Avenue in the Barnegat Pines section of the Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old Marcela Diemer of Williams Street in Forked River, NJ, for DUI. Marcela Diemer was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, May 2, 2016, at 7:33 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Lake Barnegat Drive near Deerhead Lake Drive in the North Barnegat Pines section of Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old James C. Murphy of Forked River, NJ on an outstanding South Toms River Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $350. James Murphy was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 10:44 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey and Martin Julian were on patrol in the area of Stephanie Court in the Forked River Beach section of Forked River when they observed an individual whom they were aware had an outstanding arrest warrant. The suspect, 28-year-old Glenn A. Jones of Stephanie Court in Forked River, NJ, was placed under arrest on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Glenn Jones was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department.

Auto Theft – On Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 6:57 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to 1254 Lakeside Drive South in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle owner reported that between 8:00 p.m. on April 29, 2016 and 6:55 a.m. on April 30, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole her green, 2007, Hyundai Sante Fe. The vehicle was parked in the front of the residence and was unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle is valued at $1,000. The incident is under investigation.

Theft – On Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 1:12 p.m. Officer Scott Anderson responded to a Holmes Avenue North residence for a report of theft. The homeowner reported that between 10:00 a.m. on April 22, 2016 and 6:00 p.m. on April 26, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole a bicycle from in front of his residence. The bicycle is described as a boy’s, silver, blue, and black, 21-speed, Schwinn Mountain bike valued at $179.

Shoplifting and Trespassing (Arrest) – On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 4:01 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Walmart, 560 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. The Loss Prevention employee reported that he observed a female remove a car air freshener and an auto marker from the displays and place them in a shopping cart. The female placed her coat over the merchandise and then proceeded to push the shopping cart out of the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old Christina M. Manion of Silver Court in Bayville, NJ for shoplifting. Christina Manion was also found to be trespassing, as she had been previously given notice that she was no longer allowed at that store as a result of a prior incident. Christina Manion was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting and Defiant Trespass.

Theft – On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 1:12 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson responded to a residence on Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a theft. The contractor reported that he is in the process of elevating the residence and between April 23, 2016 and April 26, 2016 an unknown person or persons and cut and removed copper piping from underneath the residence. Approximately 100 feet of various size copper tubing was removed with a value of $300. The damage to the residence as a result is estimated at $1,000.

Shoplifting & Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 1:10 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Walmart, 560 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. The Loss Prevention employee reported that he observed a male subject remove two fishing reels from their displays and conceal them down the front of his pants. The subject then reportedly attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Nicholas P. Hernandez of Beach Lane in Manahawkin, NJ for shoplifting. Nicholas Hernandez was also found to be in possession of Marijuana, a glass smoking pipe, and empty wax folds. Nicholas Hernandez was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
