  • Shoplifting and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 1:47 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of Shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed a female subject remove two bottles of perfume from the shelf and then enter the restroom. Upon exiting the restroom, she reportedly walked towards the exit and put the empty boxes on a shelf and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 26-year-old Kelle Robinson of Mystic Port Place in Toms River, NJ for Shoplifting. Kelle Robinson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with shoplifting $35 worth of merchandise. Kelle Robinson was also found to be in possession of marijuana, 2 Suboxone pills, and 1 Xanax without a prescription. Kelle Robinson was charged with Possession of Marijuana as well as Possession of Suboxone and Xanax.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, April 18, 2016, Officer Adam Ewart charged 51-year-old Peter Zimmerman of Old York Road in Raritan, NJ for shoplifting in reference to an incident that occurred on April 9, 2016 at Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. On April 9, 2016, at 5:25 p.m., the loss prevention employee reported that a white male was observed cutting the spider wire anti-theft device off of a 32” Vizio television. Upon cutting the anti-theft device the alarm sounded and the suspect fled the store in a Toyota Prius, leaving the television behind. The vehicle registration came back to a business out of Kenilworth, NJ. Investigation led to the identification of Peter Zimmerman who subsequently responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters after being notified of the charges. Peter Zimmerman was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 5:17 p.m., Officer Frederick Scott Anderson conducted a motor vehicle stop on Kearny Avenue near Center Street in the Barnegat Pines section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 39-year-old William J. Hoefsloot of Parkside Drive in Forked River, NJ on an outstanding Freehold Township Municipal Court Warrant in the amount of $1,000. William Hoefsloot was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and also charged with Driving While Suspended. William Hoefsloot was released after posting bail on the warrant.

  • Theft – On Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 4:55 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to a Hillwood Road residence in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River for a report of theft. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of April 16, 2016 into April 17, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole some clothing items, an FM transmitter, an IPhone charger, and assorted change. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the theft. The total value of the theft was $35.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 8:15 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Retro Fitness, 410 Route 9 South in Forked River, NJ, for a report of Criminal Mischief. A store employee reported that between 6:00 p.m. on April 15, 2016 and 8:00 a.m. on April 17, 2016, an unknown person or persons broke two exterior wall mounted flood lights and spray painted the word “AIR” on the wall. The total damage is estimated at $250.

  • Warrant Arrest & Hit & Run – On Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 12:44 a.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the 900 block of Beach Boulevard in the Forked River Beach section of the township for a report of a hit & run motor vehicle collision. The caller reported that a vehicle struck two cars as it backed out of a driveway. While on patrol, Officer Charles May stopped a vehicle on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South for Failure to Maintain Lane. Investigation at scene led officers to determine that the driver Officer May had stopped was responsible for hit & run collisions. The driver, 34-year-old Casey Galosic of Palisades Avenue from Cliffside Park, NJ, was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant out of Union City Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Casey Galosic was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an accident. Casey Galosic was released on his own recognizance (ROR’d) at the direction of the Union City Municipal Court Clerk.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 6:10 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to a Fox Hollow Drive residence in Lanoka Harbor in reference to a complaint of aggressive driving that had reportedly occurred. The caller reported that the driver was all over the road and went through several controlled intersections without stopping. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 52-year-old Peter Daprato of Foxhollow Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ for DUI. Peter Daprato was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI.

  • Shoplifting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Arrest) – On Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 5:46 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to Wawa, 444 Route 9 South in the Forked River section of the Township, for a report of shoplifting. The store employee reported that a female stole left the store without paying for merchandise valued at $5.57. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Crystal Clancy of Holmes Avenue in Forked River, NJ for Shoplifting and possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Crystal Clancy was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

  • Underage Drinking – On Friday, April 15, 2016, at 10:26 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey and Officer Martin Julian responded to a Forked River residence in reference to an unresponsive 15-year-old male. A neighbor called for assistance after being summoned by the older brother of the unresponsive male. Investigation at the scene indicated that the 15-year-old male was having a party while his parents were away for the evening. He reportedly consumed a combination of various intoxicants to the point of incapacitation. The juvenile was transported to Community Medical Center where he was treated and later released to his parents. The investigation is pending the identification of all the juveniles at the party and notification to their parents and guardians.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, April 15, 2016, at 9:57 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol when he stopped a vehicle in the area of Sinclair Avenue and Brown Street in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 29-year-old Jason S. Dunsmuir of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Jason Dunsmuir was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, April 15, 2016, at 4:36 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Wawa, 800 Lacey Road in the Forked River section of the township, for a report of shoplifting. The store manager reported that an ex-employee, 19-year-old Louis Dautorio of Center Street in Forked River, NJ ordered a sandwich from the deli and then left with the store with the sandwich without paying for it. Louis Dautorio had left the scene prior to the arrival of officers. Louis Dautorio turned himself in on April 16, 2016 and was charged with the theft.

  • Illegal Dumping – On Friday, April 15, 2016, at 3:11 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to Lake Road in the Bamber Lakes section of the township for a report of illegal dumping. Officer Tsarnas located approximately three dozen cans, which consisted of 5 gallon paint cans, cans of water sealers, and paint thinners dumped in the woods off of Lake Road. No suspect has been identified at this time. The cans were cleaned up by the Lacey Township Department of Public Works.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 3:26 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township, for a report of shoplifting. The asset protection employee reported that he observed two male subjects take merchandise from the store displays and put them in Walmart shopping bags. The juveniles then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. The subjects were identified as two 17-year-old Lacey Township residents. The juveniles were charged with Shoplifting and turned over to the custody of their parents.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 8:41 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick stopped a vehicle for expired registration on Holmes Avenue North and Lacey Road in the Cranberry Hill section of Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 23-year-old Christopher M. Pereira of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River, NJ on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $350. Christopher Pereira was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released upon posting bail. Christopher Pereira was also charged with Driving While Suspended, Unregistered Vehicle, and Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

  • Auto Theft – On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 5:52 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to a First Street residence in Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft. The victim reported that her sister, 28-year-old Cassie Winiavski of Charleston, SC, had stolen her vehicle. The victim reported that when she came home from work on the morning of April 13, 2016, the red, 1999, Dodge Durango was parked in front of the residence. Upon waking up she discovered that the vehicle had been stolen. Further investigation led to a warrant being issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court Clerk with bail set at $2,500. On April 15, 2016, Cassie Winiavski was arrested by Seaside Park Police Department and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility. The vehicle had been located and returned to the owner on Thursday, April 14, 2016.

  • Shoplifting – On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 10:43 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor Section of the township for a report of Shoplifting. The loss prevention employee observed a female shopper on a motorized shopping cart exit the store with a cart full of store merchandise that had not been purchased. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old Anita Dering of Raccoon Avenue in Whiting, NJ for Shoplifting.  Anita Dering was transported to Lacey Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 11:15 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to a Woodland Road residence in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that just prior to calling the police, an unknown person or persons threw a piece of brick paver through his living room “picture window.”  The damage to the window is estimated at $400.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, April 11, 2016 at 3:08 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to 517 Middle Branch Drive in the Forked River Beach section of the township to assist Seaside Heights Police Detectives in serving an arrest warrant on 27-year-old Patrick J. Bulmer of Middle Branch Drive in Forked River NJ. The arrest warrant was issued out of the Seaside Heights Municipal Court for 3rd degree Aggravated Assault in the amount of $25,000. Patrick J. Bulmer was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Seaside Heights Police Department.

  • Theft – On Monday, April 11, 2016, at 9:57 a.m., Officer Michael Hein Responded to a Lakeside Drive residence in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River for a report of theft. The victim reported that an unknown person or persons entered her white, 2011, Hyundai Santa Fe between 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016 and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016 and stole items. The victim reported that a Garmin Nuvi 2598 LMT HD GPS valued at $125 and approximately $10 in quarters were stolen. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the theft.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, April 10, 2016, at 6:47 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to Lanlac Drive near Hill Street in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township for a report of a vehicle that had just struck a tree. The driver, 28-year-old Charles N. Kirkland 3rd of Lopatcong Street in Belvidere, NJ, and passenger 49-year old Francis Faronea of Mizzen Avenue in Beachwood, NJ were uninjured. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Charles N. Kirkland 3rd for DUI. Charles N. Kirkland 3rd was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Francis Faronea was the registered owner of the vehicle and was subsequently charged with permitting another person who is under the influence to operate a vehicle owned by him. The vehicle was released to Francis Faronea at the scene.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 9:14 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township, for a report of shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed a female take various cosmetics from their displays and concealed them in her pocketbook. The female then reportedly purchased a Slim-Jim and attempted to leave the store with the concealed merchandise. The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old female. The total value of the shoplifted merchandise was $125.14. The juvenile was charged on a juvenile complaint with Shoplifting and was turned over to the custody of her father.

  • Theft – On Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 7:48 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the Forked River Presbyterian Church, 131 Route 9 North in the Forked River section of the Township, for a report of theft. The victim reported that an unknown person or person(s) entered an unlocked room in the basement of the church and stole an Apple Mac Book and an IPad. The theft occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, ,April 9, 2016. The stolen property is described as a 2008, aluminum, version 13” Apple Mac Book with charger valued at $1,250 and a black, Apple IPad 2 with red leather cover and charger valued at $500.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 5:25 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka harbor section of the township, for a report of Shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that a white male was observed cutting the spider wire anti-theft device off of a 32” Vizio television. Upon cutting the anti-theft device the alarm sounded and the suspect fled the store in a Toyota Prius, leaving the television behind. The vehicle registration comes back to a Kenilworth, NJ address. Officer Ewart is investigating and charges are pending the identification of the suspect.

  • Theft – On Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 10:44 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township, for a report of theft. The victim reported that immediately prior to contacting the police she was shopping inside Walmart and an unknown person or persons stole her wallet from her purse. The victim reported that she left her purse in the top of her shopping cart and believes it was stolen when she briefly left it unattended. The wallet contained various credit cards and identification cards as well as $250 in cash. The surveillance video was retrieved and reviewed with no conclusion as of the time of this release.

  • Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Formal Charges) – On Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 12:02 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas was patrolling Carusoville, located in the Bamber Lakes section of the Township, when he observed a small bonfire and group of people drinking alcoholic beverages. Investigation at the scene led to 20-year-old Brittany Stowman of Arbutus Avenue in Brick, NJ and 20-year-old Paul Vitale of  Michigan Avenue in Brick, NJ being issued summonses for Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages. Bamber Lakes Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

    Extra patrols had been added to the area after social media postings were located earlier in the week promoting Brick Township teens coming to the wooded areas of Lacey for parties featuring alcohol, etc. Brick authorities were notified earlier in the week and assisted Lacey PD in contacting the parents of the youths to reduce the likelihood of problems.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, April 8, 2016, at 1:20 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol when he came across a one car motor vehicle accident on Lakeside Drive near the intersection of Arient Road in Forked River. A vehicle with three occupants was traveling west on Lakeside Drive South when the driver, 22-year-old Ariela R. Reed of West Mohawk Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ swerved to the right causing the 2004, Xfinity G35 to leave the roadway and travel down an embankment towards the water of Lake Barnegat. A passenger, 25-year-old Alyssa M. Macidonia of Forked River, NJ received injuries and was treated by Lacey Township Emergency Medical Services. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Ariela Reed for DUI. Ariela Reed was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, April 8, 2016, at 1:22 a.m., Office Martin Julian and Officer Michael Verwey conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near East Haines Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old Laura Ramirez Sanchez of Normandie Drive in Forked River, NJ on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $250. Laura Ramirez Sanchez was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released on her own recognizance by the authority of the municipal court clerk. Laura Ramirez Sanchez was charged with Failure to Stop before Right on Red, Suspended Driver’s License, and Unlicensed Driver.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 11:29 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to a Driftwood Lane residence in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township to serve 23-year-old Salvatore A. Trusso of Driftwood Lane with a no-bail Jersey City Municipal Court warrant and a Sayreville Municipal Court Warrant in the amount of $389. Salvatore Trusso was located at the residence and placed under arrest. Salvatore Trusso was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Jersey City Police Department.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 2:15 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno stopped a motorist on Route 9 near Beach Boulevard. While speaking with the driver, 29-year-old Christopher Wisnowski of Spruce Circle South in Barnegat, NJ, he observed a brand new, Boost Mobile Cell Phone and packaging. Upon further investigation it was determined that the cell phone had been shoplifted from Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Christopher Wisnowski was charged with careless driving at the scene and after further investigation was later charged with Shoplifting a Boost Mobile Phone valued at $89.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 9:49 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe stopped a motor vehicle on Route 9 south near Lakeside Drive south in the Forked River section of the township Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 42-year-old Keith J. Brennan of Gower Road in Toms River, NJ, on two outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Child Support warrants in the amounts of $36,979.01 and $34,213.99. Keith J. Brennan was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • Burglary – On Tuesday, April, 5, 2016, at 6:09 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to a Twin River Drive residence in reference to a report of burglary. The homeowner reported that between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his residence and stole property from his bedroom. Entry was believed to have been made by removing the screen to the kitchen window. The stolen property is described as an IPod valued at $300 and approximately $460 in cash. A pair of sunglasses was retrieved from the scene and was submitted as evidence.

  • Theft (Formal Charge) – On Tuesday, April, 5, 2016, at 6:08 p.m., Officer Martin Julian and Officer Michael Verwey responded to the Lacey Township Police Headquarters for a report of theft. The victim reported that someone stole her Apple IPhone 6s from her Lacey Township High School locker sometime during the school day. Investigation led to the recovery of the phone at a residence in Forked River section of Lacey Township. A 15-year-old female student was charged on a juvenile complaint with theft.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 05, 2016, at 1:50 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township, for a report of shoplifting. The Asset Protection Manager reported that he and his Asset Protection Associates observed a female place various items of merchandise inside of a canvas tote bag. The female then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old Jamie M. Turk of Brook Street in Woodbridge, NJ for shoplifting $160.38 worth of merchandise from Walmart. Jamie Turk was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Drug Distribution (Arrests) – On Thursday, April 1, 2016, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Detectives from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Southern Enforcement Unit located a white 2015, Dodge Journey that was allegedly transporting quantities of Heroin from the Trenton area into the Lacey Township. The vehicle was stopped and found to be occupied by the following Trenton residents: sister and brother, 24-year-old Ivory L. Lewis of 63 Brynmawr Avenue in Trenton, NJ and 23-year-old Tiemear Lewis of 844 Carteret Avenue in Trenton, NJ.  A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle located approximately 350 individual dosage units of heroin, along with a quantity of Marijuana.  Both Ivory Lewis and Tiemear Lewis were arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Ivory L. Lewis was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels, JSC set bail at $40,000, no ten percent. Tiemear Lewis was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels, JSC set bail at $40,000, no ten percent.  Both Ivory Lewis and Tiemear Lewis were subsequently transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Drug Distribution (Arrests) – On Thursday, March 31, 2016, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Detectives from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Southern Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, executed a no-knock search warrant at 710 Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ as a result of a week long investigation into the distribution of Heroin in the Lacey Township area. Police seized approximately 250 bags of Heroin, a quantity of Marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia from the residence and arrested 23-year-old Joseph Sinopoli and 21-year-old Casey Sinopoli, both from 710 Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, on various drug charges. They were subsequently transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Joseph Sinopoli was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute.  Mr. Joseph Sinopoli and Casey Sinopoli were charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute.

  • Aggravated Assault (Arrest) – On Sunday, April 3, 2016, at 7:08 p.m., Officer Elton Copes and Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Rail Trail near the Wawa at Taylor Lane in Forked River, NJ, for a report of an assault that had just occurred. The victim reported that he had been assaulted by 55-year-old Theodore Riker of Parker Street in Forked River. The victim reported that Theodore Riker struck him with the bat several times. Lacey Township EMS treated the victim and transported him to Community Medical Center. The Lacey Township Police Department Detective Bureau responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Theodore Riker was charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose. Judge Damian Murray set bail on a criminal arrest warrant at $75,000. Theodore Riker was unable to be located then later turned himself in at police headquarters on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Bail was posted through a bondsman.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, April 4, 2016, at 2:20 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a motor vehicle stop and determined that the driver, 27-year-old Gianna Hankins of Lexington Boulevard in Barnegat, NJ, had a suspended driver’s license. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 40-year-old Brenda Piacentino of Chapel Street in Waretown, NJ, on three outstanding child support warrants out of Ocean County for a total of $28,789.   • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, April 4, 2016, at 9:18 a.m., Officer Michael Hein conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near Briggs Avenue in the Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 42-year-old Steven T. Nych of Leeward Drive in Forked River NJ on a Manchester Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $250 and an outstanding Lavalette Boro Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $200. Steven Nych was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • MVA & DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, April 4, 2016, at 2:03 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to the area of Route 9 near Murray Grove Lane in Lanoka Harbor in reference to a report of a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned causing the driver to become entrapped in the vehicle. The driver, 38-year-old Nicole Quiros of Beachwood, NJ, was transported to Community Medical Center, where she was treated for her injuries. Nicole Quiros was arrested for DUI. Nicole Quiros was issued summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain a Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Shoplifting & Warrant (Arrest) – On Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 6:08 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Auto Zone, 319 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of shoplifting. The store employee reported that he observed a male subject acting suspiciously in the store and then enter the ladies room. The subject then reportedly exited the store with items in his front sweatshirt pocket. The empty packaging from merchandise was immediately located in the bathroom and the police department was notified. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Carmine Sperrazza of 11th Avenue in Belmar, NJ, for shoplifting and on an outstanding Wall Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $693. Carmine Sperrazza was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting a 400 watt Duralast Brand power inverter valued at $49 and a one thousand watt power inverter valued at $99. Carmine Sperrazza was also charged with DUI.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 9:04 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the area of Western Boulevard near the Cedar Creek Bridge in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township for several reports of an erratic driver. The vehicle was then reported to be stopped with a flat tire. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Addam Corson of Lakewood Avenue in Bayville, NJ, for DUI. Addam Corson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Exhibit Drivers License. The 16-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was turned over to the custody of her father.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 1:16 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a vehicle traveling North on Route 9 that failed to maintain its lane of travel. Officer Keefe stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of Rite-Aid, 101 Route 9 South in Forked River, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Joseph Stuppi of Predmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ for DUI. Joseph Stuppi was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.

  • Trespassing – On Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 5:59 p.m., Sergeant Samuel Della Sala observed several individuals trespassing at Lacey Materials, located on West Lacey Road in the Forked River section of the township. Upon further investigation it was determined that the individuals got their vehicle stuck in the mud while trespassing. Three adults: 22-year-old Vincent G. Belluardo of Pelican Drive in Bayville, NJ; 21-year-old Connor J. Bott of Harbor Inn Road in Bayville, NJ; and 21-year-old Marissa E. Rainey of Bullard Avenue in Forked River, NJ, were charged and issued summonses at the scene for Defiant Trespassing. Vincent G. Belluardo also had an outstanding Atlantic City Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Vincent Belluardo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance by the authority of the Atlantic City Municipal Court Clerk.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 11:31 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the area of West Lacey Road for a report of an aggressive driver. Officer Watkins located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Lacey Road near Spaulding Avenue. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Francis X. Dibrienza 4th on an outstanding South Toms River Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Francis X. Dibrienza was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance by the authority of the South Tomes River Municipal Court Clerk.

  • Drug Distribution (Arrests) – At approximately 6:30 pm on March 28, 2016, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Group (Southern Enforcement Unit) and the Lacey Township Police Department located a 2005, Ford Taurus, identified as allegedly being utilized to transport quantities of heroin into Lacey Township, which was occupied by 57-year-old Michael A. Araneo, 23-year-old Michael A. Araneo II, and 35-year-old Nicholas M. Picone. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Bay Way and Maple Road in the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey Township.  A search of the suspect vehicle located approximately 550 individual dosage units of Heroin along with a quantity of Cocaine.  Police also seized approximately $1,200 dollars in cash. All three subjects were subsequently arrested and transported to the Lacey Township Police Department. Michael A. Araneo, 57, of 826 Hazelton Ave, Lanoka Harbor, NJ, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute and Resisting Arrest. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels, JSC set bail at $75,000. Mr. Araneo was subsequently housed in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. Michael A. Araneo II, 23, of 826 Hazelton Ave, Lanoka Harbor, NJ, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Cocaine. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels, JSC set bail at $50,000.  Mr. Araneo II was subsequently housed in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. Nicholas M. Picone, 35, of 1503 Whitcomb Road, Forked River, NJ, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Cocaine. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels, JSC set bail at $50,000. Mr. Picone II was subsequently housed in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

  • DUI, Drug, and Warrant (Arrest) – On Monday, March 28, 2016, at 12:33 a.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Andrew Slota responded to the parking lot of Applebee’s, located at 404 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a male subject slumped over the steering wheel in a vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 33-year-old Brian Davidson of Main Street in New Haven, Vermont, for DUI. In addition, he was found to be in possession of Marijuana and Xanax. Furthermore, two outstanding warrants were issued for Brian Davidson’s arrest. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Elmwood Park Municipal Court in the amount of $500, and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Hackensack Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Bail was set in the amount of $2,500 for possessing Marijuana and Possession of CDS (Xanax). He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail. In addition he was issued traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 27, 2016, at 9:42 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to 606 Beach Boulevard in the Forked River Beach section of Forked River in reference to a dispute. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 26-year-old Kyle Conroy of 606 Beach Boulevard in Forked River, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Warrant in the amount of $5,000 and on an outstanding Brick Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Kyle Conroy was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

  • Trespassing and Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 27, 2016, at 3:25 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Slota and Adam Ewart responded to Lacey Materials, located at 5001 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, officers located three individuals trespassing. The individuals were identified as: 21-year-old Christopher J. Crincoli of Skimmer Court in Forked River; 25-year-old Kevin L. Snell, Jr. of Lakeview Drive South in Toms River; and 31-year-old Joseph I. Crincoli, Jr. of 19th Avenue in Brick, NJ. Christopher Crincoli and Kevin Snell were charged with Trespassing on a summons and released at the scene. Joseph J. Crincoli was found to have an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Joseph Crincoli was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting full bail. In addition, he received a summons for Trespassing.

  • Shoplifting and Warrant (Arrest) – On Sunday, March 27, 2016, at 2:47 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jeffrey Slota responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Nicholas Ramos of Shell Way in Lavallette, NJ for shoplifting merchandise valued at $29.99. In addition, a Berkeley Township Municipal Court no-bail warrant was located for his arrest. Nicholas Ramos was transported to police headquarters and processed. Bail was set at $1,000 for the offense of Shoplifting. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the $1,000 bail and the no-bail warrant.

  • Traffic Crash – On Saturday, March 26, 2016, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Officers George Resetar, John McKee, and Robert Duffy responded to a motor vehicle crash off West Lacey Road on the Lacey Materials private property. The crash involved a single vehicle with four occupants. A 2003, Chevrolet, 2500 pick-up truck was traveling on a packed dirt road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the travelled portion of the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and struck several trees before coming to rest on its passenger side, trapping one of the occupants. The vehicle was operated by 19-year-old Michael Fox-Ricci of Route 9 South in Forked River, NJ. Michael Fox-Ricci and two passengers, identified as 21-year-old Tyler Hayes of Arlington Avenue in Forked River, NJ, and 19-year-old Thomas Boyd of Admiral Road in Forked River, NJ, were all transported to Community Medical Center. The front-seat passenger, 20-year old John Giberson of Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River, NJ, was extricated by the Forked River Fire Company and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ via helicopter. He is currently in critical but stable condition with various injuries. The crash is being investigated by Officer Adam Ewart and Sergeant Robert Flynn of the Lacey Township Police Department FAST Team. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office FAST team, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI unit, Forked River Fire Department, Lacey Township First Aid Squad, and MONOC Paramedics also responded to the scene. Charges have not yet been filed and the investigation is continuing.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, March 25, 2016, at 11:53 p.m., Officer Elton Copes conducted a motor vehicle stop on East Lacey Road and Route 9 in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 36-year-old Elizabeth Duncan of Snipe Road in Forked River, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Elizabeth Duncan was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and impeding the Flow of Traffic. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, March 25, 2016, at 3:26 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 800 block of Deguise Street in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on March 24, 2016, and 10:00 a.m. on March 25, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in his driveway and stole two laptop computers valued at a total of $350. One of the computers was a Chromebook provided to the victim by Lacey Township High School and the other was a Lenovo which belonged to the victim’s friend.

  • Animal Complaint – On Friday, March 25, 2016, at 8:18 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer and Officer Michael Eden responded to Joffre Road in Forked River in reference to dogs that had attacked the neighbor’s cat. The victim reported that her neighbors’ dogs jumped a fence and entered her yard where they attacked her 11-year-old cat “Bow Tie.” The dogs, a 2-year-old brown pit-bull mix named “Bo” and a 1-year-old, white and brown pit bull named “Zoe” belong to residents on Joffre Road in Forked River, NJ. The cat died while en route to the Veterinarian’s office. The township Animal Control Officer, Michael San Juan, responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation. The dogs were ordered to be quarantined at the residence. Jillian K. Basista and Thaddeus J. Byckiewicz were each charged with township ordinances for Dog Running at Large and for Failing to License Dog.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 5:20 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Ocean First Bank located at 900 Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 34-year-old Donald M. Defeo of Baltusrol Drive in Mays Landing, NJ, on an outstanding Mays Landing Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Donald Defeo was released after posting full bail.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 4:14 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Dimitri Tsarnas responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 50-year-old Lillian Dunsmuir of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise valued at $50. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 2:36 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella and Officer Brian Holt responded to the Lacey Township Municipal Court in regard to a wanted person. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 45-year-old Michael Gray of Halsey Avenue in Bayville, NJ, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $2,500. Michael Gray was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 10:13 a.m., Officers Patrick Watkins responded to Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River, in regard to a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier in the day. The store manager reported that an adult female, later identified as 48-year-old Carolyn Therrien of Devon Street in Forked River, allegedly shoplifted merchandise valued at $15.06. Officers Patrick Watkins and Scott Keefe responded to the Devon Street residence and met with the accused Carolyn Therrien. She was placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to police headquarters. Carolyn Therrien was processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.

  • Eluding (Arrests) – On Monday, March 21, 2016, at 5:41 p.m., Officer Brian Holt conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Wawa, 800 West Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 34-year-old Jennifer Whalen of 44 Bellflower Court in Toms River. As Officer Holt was conducting his investigation, Jennifer Whalen drove away and fled the scene. As the suspect vehicle was turning onto Lacey Road from the parking lot of Wawa, the front seat passenger, 30-year-old Brittany Bodzak of Lane Place in Forked River, NJ, jumped out of the moving vehicle. Officer Holt followed the suspect vehicle with his lights and sirens activated, but the driver refused to stop and ran a red light at the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue, before getting onto the Garden State Parkway northbound. Officer Holt chose not to pursue the vehicle and notifications were made to the surrounding law enforcement agencies. An outstanding Ocean County Sherriff’s Department arrest warrant in the amount of $5,000 was located for Jennifer Whalen.The Toms River Township Police Department was notified and later located Jennifer Whalen at her residence. Jennifer Whalen was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with 2nd degree Eluding. Judge Damian Murray set bail at $50,000. Jennifer Whalen was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. The passenger, Brittany Bodzak, who had left the area after jumping out of the vehicle, later turned herself in and was placed under arrest on an outstanding no-bail Atlantic City Municipal Court warrant and a Manchester Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $250. Brittany Bodzak was turned over to the custody of the Atlantic City Police Department.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday March 21, 2016, at 1:19 p.m., Officer Watkins responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township for a report of Shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed a male subject walk around the store and place $123.38 worth of merchandise in a Walmart shopping bag. The subject then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Christopher M. Schumacher Jr. of Station Drive in Forked River, NJ for shoplifting and on an outstanding Barnegat Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Christopher Schumacher was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting. Judge Damian Murray set bail at $1,000. Christopher Schumacher was processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Sunday, March 20, 2016, at 1:07 a.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to a Walnut Drive residence in Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft. The victim reported that between 10:00 p.m. on March 19, 2016 and 1:00 a.m. on March 20, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole approximately $3,200 in various professional hair stylist tools. The theft reportedly included three pairs of scissors, shears, a razor, and brushes. The items were stored in a navy blue Michael Kors bag and a black Victoria Secret wallet which were both stolen along with the other items. The vehicle was parked in the street in front of the residence at the time of the theft.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 5:53 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Swains Bog Road in the Bamber Lakes section of the township for a report of criminal mischief. The caller reported that a utility pole had been cut down and the transformer had broken open when it fell to the ground, spilling approximately 15 gallons of fluid onto the ground. Bamber Lakes Fire Department and Berkley Township Hazmat Team responded to the scene in regards to the spilled fluid. JCP&L responded to the scene to address the utility pole and wires. A clean up company for JCP&L responded to address the spilled fluid. The damage is estimated at $5,000.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 8:56 p.m., Sergeant Robert Flynn was on patrol as part of a Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund (DDEF) special detail when he stopped a vehicle on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South for Maintenance of Lamps. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Keith W. Hesterman Jr. of Forked River on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. Keith Hesterman was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 11:26 p.m., Officer Elton Copes and Sergeant Robert Flynn responded to Wawa, 701 Route 9 north in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of a male subject passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle. Officers responded and located the vehicle. The vehicle was running and the driver was passed out in the driver seat. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 46-year-old Douglas Laperry of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Douglas Laperry was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. Douglas Laperry was also found to have an outstanding Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $289 and an outstanding Wall Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $104. Douglas Laperry posted bail for the warrant. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 12:09 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas was working a Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund (DDEF) special detail when he stopped a vehicle on Lacey Road near the intersection of Shepard Avenue. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Melody Duah of Montgomery Street in Rahway, NJ, for DUI. Melody Duah was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Improper Turn, Open Container, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Possession of Marijuana (Arrest) – On Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:24 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey was working a Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund (DDEF) special detail when he stopped a vehicle on Route 9 near the intersection of Oak Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Cory D. Snyder-Festa of Tamarack Road in Forked River, NJ, for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Cory Snyder-Festa was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintenance of Lamps, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 8:35 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 9 near the intersection of Bay Way in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Jeffrey S. Row of Toms River on an outstanding Ocean Township Municipal Court Warrant in the amount of $90. Jeffrey Row was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 9:20 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a traffic stop on Western Boulevard near the intersection of Colgate Avenue of 52-year-old Lisa A. Deo of Ironside Drive in Whiting, NJ, for driving while suspended. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Lisa Deo on an outstanding Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $138. Lisa Deo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail. Lisa Deo was issued a summons for Driving While Suspended.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 4:16 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township, for a report of shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed a male subject remove 10 Samsung cell phone screen protectors from the store shelves and then hide them in the rear waistband of his pants. The subject then reportedly attempted to exit the store through the garden center without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old James C. DeCarlo of Spruce Street in Forked River, NJ, for Shoplifting. James DeCarlo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting the $99.60 worth of merchandise.

  • Possession of Heroin (Arrest) – On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 8:28 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Municipal Lane near Lacey Road of 21-year-old Melissa A. Szewczyk of 1440 Chester Avenue in Whiting, NJ, as a result of having two outstanding Lakewood Township Municipal Court warrants with a total bail amount of $2,850. Investigation at the scene led to the discovery of a hypodermic syringe and 31 heroin wax folds. Of the wax folds found in Melissa A. Szewczyk’s possession, 14 were empty and 17 contained small quantities of suspect Heroin. The rear seat passenger, 28-year-old Glenn Jones Jr. of 701 Stephanie Court in Forked River, NJ was found to be in possession of a full wax fold of Heroin and 8 empty wax folds of heroin. The front seat passenger, 23-year-old Crystal Clancy of 554 Holmes Avenue in Forked River, NJ, was found to be in possession of a green straw with burnt residue as well as 4 empty wax folds of heroin. All three suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Melissa Szewczyk was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Judge Damian Murray set her bail at $20,000. Melissa Szewczyk was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. Glenn Jones Jr. was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Crystal Clancy was charged with two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
