- Theft – On Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 3:56 p.m., Officer Brian Holt took a report of a theft of prescription medication from a residential mailbox on Kenney Street in Forked River. The victim reported that the medication was delivered to his mailbox sometime on Saturday July 9, 2016. According to the U.S. Postal Service the mail had been delivered sometime between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday July 9, 2016. The medication was valued at $100.00.
- Aggressive Driver Complaint – On Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 11:19 p.m., Officers Martin Julian and Frederick Anderson responded to a report of an aggressive driver at the Walmart located at 580 Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. The victim reported while in the Walmart parking lot, a black Hyundai Santa Fe pulled behind his vehicle and threw a soda cup at his vehicle. When he exited his vehicle to write down the suspect vehicle’s license plate number, the black Hyundai Santa Fe pulled forward almost striking him. The victim stated the vehicle’s driver appeared to be an adult male, no further description. The vehicle was last seen making a right turn heading west on Haines Street. No damage was caused to the victim’s vehicle.
- CDS Possession and Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, July 15, 2016, at 3:25 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Alpine Street and Harrison Avenue in Forked River. During the motor vehicle stop Officer Dalziel observed a single wax fold of heroin behind the front passenger seat. The driver, 23-year-old David Rivera of Broad Street in Toms River, NJ, grabbed the wax fold and ingested it. David Rivera was subsequently charged with Destruction of Evidence, Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and was released on a Criminal Summons. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Driving with a Suspended License and CDS in a Motor Vehicle. Furthermore, David Rivera had an active Stafford Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1000 for his arrest. He was processed on the warrant and released.
- Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, July 15, 2016, at 3:41 p.m., Officers Noah Schaffer and Martin Julian responded to the Wawa located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River for a reported shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 29-year-old Regina M. Moore of Circle Drive in Forked River for shoplifting merchandise valued at $3.87. In addition, she was charged with a prior shoplifting incident which occurred on July 10, 2016, where she shoplifted merchandise and left the store prior to police arrival. Regina Moore was transported to police headquarters and processed for both shoplifting incidents. She was released after receiving two criminal summonses for shoplifting.
- Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer (Arrest) – On Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 11:45 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near the Garden State Parkway. The driver of the vehicle was issued a written warning for the traffic violation and released. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver had provided false information to Officer Anderson. The driver was identified as 52-year-old Michael LeCompte of Bennetts Mills Road in Jackson, NJ. At the time of the motor vehicle stop, he provided Officer Anderson with a New Jersey driver’s license with his brother’s information. Michael LeCompte was charged with Exhibiting a False Driver’s License, Hindering Apprehension, and Operating a Motor Vehicle During a License Suspension. His bail was set in the amount of $20,000. In addition, Michael LeCompte was charged with motor vehicle summonses including Driving while Suspended, Improper Turn and Unclear Plates. He was arrested and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Burglary (Auto) – On Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 11:35 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 200 block of Oak Lane in Forked River for a report of an unknown person rummaging through the homeowner’s vehicle parked in his driveway. The complainant confronted the subject and chased him away. The subject was described as a white male in his 40’s, 5’ 10”, 220 lbs., wearing a white T-shirt with cut off sleeves and blue jean shorts. The complainant chased the subject west down Sunrise Boulevard in the area of White Castle on Route 9 where he lost sight of him. In addition, a vehicle at a neighboring home was also entered. There was nothing taken from either vehicle and the incident is under investigation.
- Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Sunday, July 17, 2016, at 8:25 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the Forked River (2nd lake) beach for a report of Criminal Mischief to one of the lifeguard stands. Approximately eight feet of the stand’s rear leg had been broken after being pushed over on its side. The damage is believed to have occurred between 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2016. The damage is estimated at $100.
- Warrant (Arrest) – On Monday, July 18, 2016, at 12:16 a.m., Officer Elton Copes conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle parked at the Home Town Market located at 725 Route 9 South in Forked River. Officer Copes learned that the driver had an outstanding warrant. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Maryann S. Garcia of Forth Street in Barnegat, NJ, on a Tuckerton Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $392. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Maryann Garcia was processed and released after being ROR’d on the warrant by the Tuckerton Municipal Court. In addition, Officer Copes issued her a traffic summons for Driving with a Suspended License.
- DUI (Arrest) – On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 3:00 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Nautilus Boulevard near the intersection of Raleigh Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver identified as 34-year-old Donald Capolupo of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River for DUI. Donald Capolupo was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

- Motor Vehicle Crash – On Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 9:27 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the intersection of Station Drive and Cherokee Trail in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River, NJ, for a report of an injured male lying in the roadway. Upon arrival officers met with the patient, 18-year-old Robert DeSantis of Hardwood Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, who appeared to be disoriented as a result of a head injury. Investigation at the scene determined Robert DeSantis intentionally jumped out of a convertible vehicle, while it was moving. The vehicle was being operated by a 17-year-old female from Forked River. Lacey Township EMS responded to the scene. Robert DeSantis was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center as a result of his injuries. Members of the Lacey Township Police Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 4:39 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel was on patrol when he observed 23-year-old Jacob Barney of Spruce Street in Forked River, NJ, walking in the area of Route 9 and Hollywood Boulevard South in Forked River. Officer Dalziel was aware that Jacob Barney had outstanding warrants for his arrest, including an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no-bail warrant, an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department non-support warrant in the amount of $4480.00, and a Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500.00. Officer Dalziel confirmed the warrants and placed Jacob Barney under arrest. Jacob Barney was also found to be in possession of Heroin, Hypodermic Syringes, Suboxone, and Drug Paraphernalia. Jacob Barney was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, Possession of Suboxone, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with bail set in the amount of $20,000.00 with no 10 percent option. Jacob Barney was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Motor Vehicle Crash– On Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 8:20 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to Lacey Road near the Garden State Parkway in Forked River, NJ for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. A vehicle operated by 55-year-old Theodore J. Diebold of Route 9 in Forked River, NJ, was traveling eastbound on Lacey Road when he crossed over into the westbound lane striking another vehicle, with four occupants, that was traveling westbound on Lacey Road. The vehicle with four occupants overturned and then ran off the roadway, coming to rest in the woods. The vehicle driven by Theodore Diebold continued traveling eastbound and collided with another vehicle, with two occupants, that was traveling westbound. All of the occupants were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The Lacey Township Police Traffic Safety Unit, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
- DUI Arrest – On Friday, July 8, 2016, at 6:06 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1000 block of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident. The caller reported that a vehicle backed up into the mailbox located at a residence on the 1000 block of Bowsprit Point and then continued to back up on top of a wood railroad tie retaining wall. The vehicle then became lodged on top of the retaining wall and was unable to be moved. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 60-year-old Marie D. Alfieri of Tuscarora Avenue in Barnegat, NJ for Driving Under the Influence. Marie Alfieri was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed. She was relased after receiving traffic summonses for Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Theft from Auto – On Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 700 block of Chesapeake Drive in Forked River, NJ, for a report of theft. The victims reported that between 10:30 p.m. on July 6, 2016 and 12:15 a.m. on July 7, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered their unlocked 2015 Mercedes and stole approximately $5.00 in change. The victim also reported that an unknown person or persons entered their 2013 Monterey boat, which was docked behind their residence, and rummaged through it. Nothing is believed to have been stolen from the boat. The total theft is valued at $5.00. The incident is under investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 6:17 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the area of Route 9 and Beach Boulevard, in Forked River, NJ, for a report of a male subject walking in and out of traffic. Officer Michael Hein located the subject in the parking lot of TD Bank, 717 Route 9 in Forked River, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old Robert J. Kovac, of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $350.00. Robert Kovac was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters and processed. He was turned over to the custody of the Ocean Township Police Department.
- Motor Vehicle Crash (Bicyclist) – On Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 9:11 p.m., officers from the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Clearwater Drive in Forked River, NJ, for a report of a struck bicyclist. Investigation at the scene indicated that a bicyclist, operated by a 15-year-old male, was traveling on the southbound shoulder of Route 9, when he turned into the southbound lane of Route 9 and was struck by a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck that was driven by 34-year-old Jeffrey Smith of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River, NJ. The 15-year-old victim was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center as a result of his injuries. The Lacey Township Police Traffic Safety Unit, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
- Motor Vehicle Crash, DUI, and Possession of CDS – On Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 10:33 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to West Lacey Road, near the border of Manchester Township, NJ, for a report of a motor vehicle accident. The caller reported that a vehicle had run off of the road and into the woods. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 30-year-old Christopher M. Graham of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for Driving Under the Influence. Open containers of alcohol were observed inside the vehicle. Christopher Graham was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Christopher Graham was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Driving under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Uninsured, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. In addition, Christopher Graham was charged with Possession of Marijuana in an Amount of 50 grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.
- Shoplifting – On Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 9:30 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of a male shoplifter. The Walmart Asset Protection employee reported that he observed a male subject remove a Jabra mini Bluetooth Headset from its display and place the item in his pants pocket. The subject then went to the cashier and purchased other items, but failed to pay for the concealed item. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old Cristobal Guerro-Ortega of Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $34.98. Cristobal Guerro-Ortega was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters and processed. He was charged with shoplifting and released.

Fraud Alert (Phone Scam) – On Friday, July 1, 2016, the Lacey Township Police Department took a fraud report from an elderly resident of Lacey Township. The resident reported that she was contacted by a male subject with a foreign accent who convinced her that he was a friend of her son-in-law, and that he was attempting to bail her son-in-law out of jail. The male subject convinced the elderly resident to purchase $12,000 worth of iTunes gift cards over the course of two days from various stores. The victim then provided the suspect with the gift card numbers as a result of the suspect telling her he was going to barter a deal to get her son-in-law out of jail. The Lacey Township Police Department encourages any resident to contact our agency if they suspect they are being victimized by a person attempting to commit a fraud.

Fireworks (Formal Charge) – On Sunday, July 3, 2016, at 9:38 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the area of Woodlawn Drive in Forked River, for a complaint of fireworks being ignited. Investigation at the scene led to the issuance of a complaint summons to 35-year-old Mariusz Bulc of West Cypress Road in Toms River, NJ. Mariusz Bulc was charged with the New Jersey State statute prohibiting fireworks.

Fireworks (Formal Charge) – On Sunday, July 3, 2016, at 3:04 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to 1119 Skiff Way Drive in Forked River for a report of fireworks being ignited. Investigation at the scene led to the issuance of a complaint summons to 41-year-old Dennis Deevy of Old Bridge, NJ. Dennis Deevy was charged with the New Jersey State statute prohibiting fireworks.

Fireworks – On Monday, July 4, 2016, at 9:05 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol when in the area of Chestnut Drive and Maple Road when he observed fireworks being ignited. Investigation at the scene led to the issuance of a complaint summons to the resident. 52-year-old Scott Corcoran of Chestnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Scott Corcoran was charged with the New Jersey State statute prohibiting fireworks.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, July 4, 2016, at 3:15 p.m., Sergeant Della Sala was on patrol when he observed a male subject walking in the area of Briar Road and Hemlock Drive in Lanoka Harbor. Sergeant Della was aware that the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Glenn A. Jones Jr. of Stephanie Court in Forked River on an outstanding Ocean Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500. Glenn Jones was transported to Lacey Township Police Department where he was processed and turned over to the custody of the Ocean Township Police Department.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Monday, July 4, 2016, at 1:13 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2003 Ford Taurus on Route 9 near the intersection of First Street in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 20-year-old Joseph Lipari of Wave Drive in Forked River, NJ, for possession of Marijuana. Joseph Lipari was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Joseph Lipari was also issued summonses for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Expired Registration.

Burglary – On Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 10:52 a.m., officers responded to a Brentwood Road residence in the Cranberry Hill section of Forked River for a report of burglary. The resident reported that between 3:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight. On July 4, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her residence and stole her property. The property included two bottles of prescription medication and money. No signs of forced entry could be located. It is alleged that the home was entered through an unlocked rear door. The total value of the theft is estimated at $175.

DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, July 3, 2016, at 9:08 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Honda Accord on Lake Barnegat Drive North near Stueben Avenue as a result of the driver speeding. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 20-year-old Tiffany Estremera of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Tiffany Estremera was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, July 1, 2016, at 6:36 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 north in Lanoka Harbor for a report of shoplifting. The Asset Protection employee reported that he observed a female subject go inside Walmart and put several items of merchandise into a shopping cart. The subject then reportedly entered the bicycle aisle and put all of the items into white plastic Walmart bags that she had in her possession. The subject then attempted to leave the store without paying for the $344 worth of merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Rachel A. Jackson of Spruce Street in Beachwood, NJ for shoplifting. Rachel A. Jackson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

Theft – On Friday, July 1, 2016, at 10:44 a.m., Officer Jessie Dalziel responded to Sunflower’s Florist, 615 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of theft. The owner of the business reported that between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on June 30, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole a flower arrangement she had dropped off outside of Layton’s Funeral Home, 250 Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ, on in preparation for an upcoming service. The stolen property is valued at $150.

Possession of Heroin and Drug Paraphernalia (Arrest) – On Friday, July 1, 2016, at 3:56 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Wawa, 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a suspicious person. An employee reported that a male subject was visibly intoxicated and was stumbling out in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Daniel Dabal of Forked River, NJ as a result of possessing wax folds of Heroin. Daniel Dabal also had hypodermic syringes in his possession. Daniel Dabal was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Theft – On Friday, July 1, 2016, at 10:18 a.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to Tony’s General Merchandise, 1015 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of theft. The manager reported that between June 30, 2016 and July 1, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole 15 small American flags that were on display on the grounds outside the business. The total value of the stolen property is $15.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 9:16 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. The Asset Protection employee reported that he observed a female subject conceal merchandise in her purse as she was shopping inside the store. The subject then proceeded to cashier and purchased a small amount of items. The subject then attempted to leave the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 55-year-old Diane E. Cholish of Mermaid Ave in Beachwood, NJ for shoplifting $45.39 worth of merchandise. Diane Cholish was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

Animal Complaint – On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at 1:32 p.m., Officer Michael Eden and Officer Martin Julian responded to a Twin River Drive residence in Forked River for a report of a strong odor emanating from the residence. The residence also had a large amount of flies congregating on the windows. The officers attributed the odor a large amount of cats residing within the residence. Animal control responded to the scene and removed approximately 20 cats from the residence. The SPCA was notified and will be following up with the investigation.

Heroin Distribution (Arrest) – On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 22, 2016, Lacey detectives conducted a traffic stop on Western Boulevard. The stop was conducted as part of the completion of an ongoing Heroin distribution investigation. During the stop, the driver, 33 year-old Brian Cleary of 536 Devon Street in Forked River, provided detectives with false information. During a subsequent search, 435 bags containing Heroin were located in the engine compartment of Cleary’s vehicle. Brian Cleary was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility after being charged with Possession of Heroin, Distribution of Heroin, and Intent to Distribute within 1000’ of the Mill Pond Elementary School. His bail was set at $90,000 by Ocean County Superior Court Judge Melanie Appleby. A K-9 Unit assisted from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the search.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, June 27, 2016, at 1:48 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno observed a vehicle speeding on Cedar Avenue in the area of Hebrew Park in Lanoka Harbor. Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Spruce Road near the intersection of Chestnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Nicholas B. Cicerello of 830 Deguise Street in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $750 and an outstanding Wall Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $519. Nicholas Cicerello was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after a family member posted his bail. Nicholas Cicerello was also charged with Speeding and Driving while Suspended.

Trespassing (Multiple Formal Charges) – On Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 11:58 p.m., officers responded to the property of the Brickwall Corporation, 2215 Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ, regarding trespassing and forest fire concerns. Officers located a large group who had a bonfire burning in the Pinelands. The group was trespassing on private property and posing a danger with the fire in what has been classified as very dangerous dry conditions in the Pinelands. The following individuals were charged with Trespassing: 21-year-old Richard S. Breech of Evergreen Lane in Levittown, PA; 20-year-old Ryan M. Liszewski of Woodside Avenue in Levittown, PA; 18-year-old Kazandra M. Barletti of Stephen Avenue in Croydon, PA; 21-year-old Rachel M. Iatarola of Grandview Avenue in Feasterville-Trevose, PA; 19-year-old David J. Widmann of Peevy Road in East Greenville, PA; 23-year-old Jeffery Wunder of Farmview Drive in Newtown, PA; 18-year-old Maleana E. Rosado Quiles of Mill Drive in Levittown, PA; 19-year-old Caitlin M. Iaquinto of Ivy Hill Road in Levittown, PA; 18-year-old Payton S. Barbour of Edgewood Lane in Levittown, PA; 20-year-old Matthew D. Hager of Bristol Oxford Valley in Levittown, PA; 20-year-old Cristina M. Mondello of Jefferson Drive in Brick, NJ; 20-year-old David A. Amato of Eventide Lane in Levittown, PA; 19-year-old Hunter A. Anderson of Doone Road in Fairless Hills, PA; 21-year-old Mary C. Guillenramirez of Lincoln Court in Brick, NJ; 26-year-old William J. Bianco of Whitcomb Road in Forked River, NJ; and 18-year-old Allan Grunger of Carnavon Avenue in Bristol, PA. Jeffery Wunder was also charged with a Municipal Ordinance for Open Burning.

Theft (Arrest) – On Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 9:33 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the Wawa, 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of theft. The store manager reported that a store employee had stolen money on four different occasions over the prior two weeks. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Gerard A. Bornemann of Shrike Court in Lanoka Harbor, NJ for allegedly stealing $2,451.51. Gerard Bornemann was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Theft.

DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, June 25, 2016, at 12:44 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle on Arlington Avenue near Lacey Road in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Taylor J. Savage of Canterbury Drive in Forked River, NJ, for DUI. Taylor Savage was transported to Lacey Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Signal Turn. The vehicle he was operating was impounded as per John’s Law.

DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, June 24, 2016, at 9:36 p.m., Special Officer Edgar Lenkauskas observed a vehicle speeding on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South. Special Officer Lenkauskas conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Route 9 South near Bay Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the to the arrest of the driver, 73-year-old David Hartman Sr. of 363 Route 9 in Waretown, NJ, for DUI. David Hartman was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 2:54 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to McDonalds, 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The manager of McDonald’s reported that a vehicle with four occupants had been parked in the parking lot for approximately three hours and some of the occupants appeared to be under the influence. The subjects also refused to leave after being requested to do so by an employee of McDonalds. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Krysta D. Badgett of 206 North Main Street in Forked River, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no bail warrant. Krysta Badgett was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Attempted Burglary & Criminal Mischief – On Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 4:12 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to a Forrest Avenue residence in Lanoka Harbor for a report of an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported that between 1:00 p.m. on June 21, 2016 and 4:00 p.m. on June 22, 2016, an unknown person or persons attempted to pry open the front door of his residence. Pry marks and splintered wood were observed by the front doorknob. No entry was gained into the residence and the damage was estimated at $50.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 3:57 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report Shoplifting. The Loss Prevention Associate reported that he observed a male subject put store merchandise into a shopping cart and then proceed to exit the store through an employee only entrance located in the garden center of the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Lawrence W. Mann of Grant Avenue in Pine Beach, NJ for Shoplifting. Lawrence Mann was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting. The stolen merchandise included five video games, a Star Wars Blu-ray video disc, a CD stereo system, and a bag of potting soil with a total value of $303.24.

DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, June 20, 2016, at 12:06 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle on Route 9 near the intersection of First Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 48-year-old Paul M. McClung of Jacqueline Court in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Paul McClung was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI with MVA (Arrest) – On Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 9:00 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the parking lot of Family Dollar, 776 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene indicated that a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck had run over a curb and struck a tree. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver, 52-year-old Raymond Ramos of Trenton Avenue North in Bayville, NJ, for DUI. Raymond Ramos was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 2:41 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Latitudes, 361 East Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a subject with an active warrant. The Lacey Township Police Department received a report that 31-year-old Dylan S. Samul of Western Boulevard in Bayville, NJ, had an outstanding arrest warrant and was currently at Latitudes. Dylan Samul was located by Officer Nick and placed under arrest on a No Bail Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant. Dylan Samul was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 10:04 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Department received a report of a possible intoxicated driver who exited the Garden State Parkway and was heading east on Lacey Road. Sergeant Samuel Della Sala located the vehicle on Lacey Road near the intersection of Deerhead Lake Drive and observed it failing to maintain its lane of travel. Sgt. Della Sala conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Lacey Road near the intersection of Lane Place. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 66-year-old Nancy Pokrywa of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River, NJ for DUI. Nancy Pokrywa was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and then charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Observe Traffic Signal, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Jennifer McCann was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Careless Driving. Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, June 17, 2016, at 5:44 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the area of Bullard Avenue and Olds Street in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River for a report a suspicious vehicle. The caller reported that a gray Acura Integra with three occupants had been parked in the area for a significant amount of time. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Aleshia M. Casper of Puerto Vallarta Street in Toms River, NJ for possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Aleshia Casper was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Underage DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, July 17, 2016, at 1:39 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol when he observed a vehicle speeding as it traveled South on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South. Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Lakeside Drive South near Parker Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 18-year-old Lawrence J. Harmon 3rd of Stuyvesant Street in Forked River, NJ, for DUI. The vehicle was occupied by two other adults and a 17-year-old juvenile. Lawrence Harmon 3rd was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Underage Driving under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Driving under the Influence with a minor in the vehicle, and Possession of Alcoholic Beverage by Persons Underage. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Theft from a Vehicle – On Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 3:44 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to a Tampa Road residence for a report of a theft. The victim reported that between 1:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on June 16, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her parked vehicle and stole approximately $9 of assorted loose change from the center console of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of her residence at the time of the incident. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 12:28 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel was on patrol in the area of Musket Drive and Lake Barnegat Drive in the Lanoka Harbor when he conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle as a result of the registered owner having an outstanding warrant. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 35-year-old Amanda L. Malinowski of 405 Brentwood Place in Forked River, NJ on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $300. Amanda Malinowski was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 1:50 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel was on patrol in the area of Route 9 and First Street in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township, when he stopped a vehicle as a result of the registered owner having an outstanding warrant. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 54-year-old Peter T. Jordan of West Point Pleasant Avenue in Ocean Gate, NJ, on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the bail amount of $5,000. Peter Jordan was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

Theft – On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 12:51 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters in reference to a theft report. The victim reported that between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole his backpack from the Mill Pond Basketball Court, 5000 Parker Avenue in Forked River, NJ. The backpack is described as a black drawstring bag with a NY Giants Football Team insignia valued at $20. The backpack contained a red hooded sweatshirt valued at $20 and a black Lenovo Chromebook valued at $150.
