Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – September 21st through September 29th, 2016

  • Drug Arrest – On Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 10:10 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and Anthony Sarno responded to the Home Towne Market parking lot located at 725 Route 9 South in Forked River for a report of a male slumped over the steering wheel inside a vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 29-year-old Devin Piekkola of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Devin Piekkola was released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of CDS (Suboxone), possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 3:54 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Zachary T. Conway of Seabright Road in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $19.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Zachary Conway was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 1006 Tampa Road in Forked River. The search warrant was sought during an ongoing drug investigation specifically targeting the distribution of heroin from the home. During the search, detectives located 494 bags containing heroin. The target of the investigation, 30-year-old Stephen Carrington, Jr., was charged with Possession of Heroin and Intent to Distribute Heroin.  His live-in girlfriend, 26-year-old Julie Patterson was charged with Possession of Heroin.  Stephen Carrington, Jr., was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $250,000 bail while Julie Patterson was released on her own recognizance pending a Court appearance. Lacey Police Detectives were assisted with the entry by the Ocean County SWAT Team. The initial search of the residence was conducted by K-9 units from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the Stafford Township Police Department. The street value of the heroin is estimated at $4,000.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 6:27 p.m., Officers George Resetar and Charles May responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old John C. Wiegartner of Pershing Avenue in Carteret, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $159.90. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. John C. Wiegartner was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 4:52 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to police headquarters to take a theft report. The victim reported that between 4:00 p.m., on September 20, 2016, and 7:00 a.m., on September 21st, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the 300 block of Lawrence Drive in Lanoka Harbor, and stole a Lenovo Chrome Book valued at $200.
  • Shoplifting and Resisting Arrest On Monday, September 26, 2016, at 12:20 p.m., Officers Michael Hein and Martin Julian responded to the Walmart, located 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of  55-year-old Janet Syers of Center Street in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $224. When Officer Julian initially attempted to place her under arrest, Janet Syers refused to comply with his commands and physically resisted. With the assistance of Officer Hein, Janet Syers was taken into custody without further incident. Janet Syers was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting and Resisting Arrest.
  • Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Crash and False Police ReportOn Monday, September 26, 2016, at 12:15 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the area of Route 9 and Sunrise Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash. The victim reported that he was traveling south on Route 9 in the area of McDonald’s, located at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, when his vehicle was struck on the rear passenger side by a black Mazda 3 with tinted windows, as it exited the McDonald’s parking lot. The victim reported that the suspect vehicle fled the scene of the crash and headed south on Route 9. Approximately two and a half hours later, Officers Scott Anderson and Michael Baldasari responded to the 1000 block of Anchor Way in Forked River, for a report of theft. The caller, 45-year-old Lisa Baker, of Anchor Way in Forked River, reported that someone had recently stolen the front license plate off her 2005 black Mazda 3. Upon further investigation, the missing license plate was located at the scene of the hit and run motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier. An investigation determined that Lisa M. Baker was involved in the hit and run motor vehicle crash and had made a false police report when she reported that her front license plate was stolen. Lisa Baker responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged on a complaint summons with False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities. In addition, Lisa Baker was issued traffic summonses for Failure to Yield Right of Way, Failure to Report an Accident, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Tinted Windows.
  • Shoplifting ArrestOn Monday, September 26, 2016, at 11:11 a.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting. The store manager reported that she observed a male subject conceal merchandise under his clothing and leave the store without making payment. A description of the suspect and a direction of travel was provided. A short time later, Officer Julian located the suspect walking on Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kyle P. Pianetti of Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor, for Shoplifting merchandise valued at $1.19. Kyle Pianetti was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Shoplifting ArrestOn Monday, September 26, 2016, 10:56 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 64-year-old Danuta T. Dab of Foxmoor Lane in Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $48.97. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Danuta Dab was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Warrant ArrestOn Sunday, September 25, 2016, at 2:05 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Michael Baldasari were on patrol when they observed a suspect with an active warrant leaving the 7-11 convenience store, located at 403 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Christopher A. Foster of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500. Christopher Foster was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Christopher Foster was unable to post bail and was turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department.
  • Warrant Arrest On Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 12:41 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Ocean County Rail Trail directly behind 512 Route 9 in Forked River, for a report of suspicious persons. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Regina M. Moore of Circle Drive in Forked River on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $750. Regina Moore was transported to police headquarters and processed. Regina Moore was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
  • House FireOn Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 3:28 a.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 1100 block of Oahu Drive in the Forked River Beach section of Lacey Township for a report of a house fire. The homeowner reported that he had left his natural gas grill on since approximately 6:00 p.m. the prior evening and did not realize it until his smoke detectors activated. The Forked River Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze. The grill and an area of the deck were damaged as a result of the fire. The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the scene to assist.

  • Burglary and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest – On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 7:23 p.m., Officers Martin Julian and Jeffrey Slota responded to the 1200 block of Clearview Street in Forked River, for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival the responding officers discovered an open rear window. Officers entered the residence and located 23-year-old James C. DeCarlo of Spruce Street in Forked River inside the vacant residence. While inside the residence, James DeCarlo was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. James DeCarlo was released after receiving criminal summonses for Burglary, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.
  • Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 5:49 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to Bobwhite Court in Forked River, for a theft report. The victim reported that between Saturday evening, September 17, 2016, and Monday afternoon, September 19, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her residence and stole her wedding ring valued at $3100. There were no signs of forced entry and the incident is under investigation.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 2:57 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the Home Depot, located at 244 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of a male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 29-year-old Scott A. Montefusco, of Grand Central Parkway in Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $204.88. Scott Montefusco was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Forgery Arrest – On Monday, September 19, 2016, at 9:00 p.m., Detectives Keith Pearce and Kymberly Gudgeon arrested 30-year-old Matthew Clinton of Devon Street in Forked River, after completing a forgery investigation.  Matthew Clinton was charged with fraud for impersonating a former roommate and utilizing his (former roommate’s) personal information to access his bank accounts.  Approximately $2000. was taken from the roommate’s account. Matthew Clinton was processed at Lacey Township Police Headquarters and ultimately charged with three counts of Forgery. His bail was set in the amount of $50,000. Matthew Clinton was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
  • Shoplifting (Multiple) and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest – On Monday, September 19, 2016, at 2:58 p.m., Officers Scott Anderson and Michael Baldasari responded to the Staples, located at 300 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of a shoplifting that just occurred. The Staples store manager reported that a white male, in his early 20s, wearing a gray sweatshirt and carrying a black and gray duffel bag had concealed merchandise in an attempt to shoplift from the store. The store manager reported that when the suspect was confronted by store employees he fled on foot.  A short time later Officer Noah Schaffer located the suspect walking south on Route 9. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 29-year-old Scott A. Montefusco of Grand Central Parkway in Bayville, NJ, for Shoplifting merchandise valued at $43.49 from Staples. In addition,  Scott Montefusco was found to be in possession of stolen merchandise from additional businesses, including $175.00 in merchandise from Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, and $16.99 in merchandise from TJMaxx, located at 344 Route 9 North in Forked River.  Scott Montefusco was also found to be in possession of four (4) empty wax folds of Heroin and a hypodermic syringe. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Scott Montefusco was released after receiving criminal summonses for three counts of Shoplifting, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 16, 2016, at 9:39 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to police headquarters in reference to serving an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, 24-year-old Sean M. Cox, of Bullard Avenue in Forked River, was arrested on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $278. Sean Cox was processed and released after posting full bail.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 16, 2016, at 2:43 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to police headquarters to serve an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, 54-year-old Keith Boyce of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, was arrested on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the bail amount of $15,000. Keith Boyce was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 9:00 p.m., Officers Christopher Meyler and Michael Verwey responded to the 7-Eleven store parking lot, located at 403 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a male slumped over the steering wheel inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officers observed a white Hyundai Accent parked in the parking lot with a male subject sitting in the driver’s seat. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officers observed the male subject holding a rolled up one dollar bill containing blue powder residue and a small blue cylinder-shaped container, fount to contain 20 Methadone pills and 8 Alprazolam pills. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Daniel S. Falls of Tamarack Road in Forked River, for possession of CDS. In addition, Daniel Falls was found to be in possession of marijuana and a multi-colored glass smoking device, as well as Possessing a canister of First Defense MK-3 Oleoresin Capsicum Spray above the legal limit permitted by law. Daniel Falls was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of Alprazolam, Possession of Methadone Hydrochloride, Possession of Marijuana 50 grams or Less, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of the First Defense MK-3 OC Spray (over 0.75 oz). In addition, Daniel Falls received a traffic summons for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 7:16 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Julie Barcalow responded to Hillwood Road in Forked River for a police investigation. During the investigation, Lindsey M. Mann, of Hillwood Road in Forked River, was found to be in possession of CDS. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters.  Lindsey M. Mann was processed and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Crack Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Her bail for the drug offenses was set in the amount of $2500.00. Lindsey M. Mann was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in Default of bail.
  • Theft (Residence)– On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 6:36 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the 700 block of Oak Road in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a theft. The victim reported that on the afternoon of September 13, 2016,  he had discovered that $200. in cash was taken from his bedroom dresser. During the time of the theft the victim reported that a mattress company was at his residence making a delivery and believed one of the employees might be responsible.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 8:39 a.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and John D. Simonson, responded to the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River, to  serve two (2) arrest warrants. Upon arrival the officers met with 23-year-old Christopher M. Pereira of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River, and arrested him on two (2) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500. and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $400. Christopher Pereira was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 9:53 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to a residence located on the 100 block of Lakeside Drive East in Forked River for a public assist. While at the residence, Officer Keefe learned that one of the occupants, 29-year-old David P. Hynes, Jr., of Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River, had an outstanding Brick Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $152.00. David Hynes, Jr., was arrested on the warrant and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released ROR by the Brick Township Municipal Court.

Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 8:58 a.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and John D. Simonson responded to the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River to serve a warrant. Upon arrival the Officers met with 23-year-old Christopher M. Pereira of Lake Barnegat Drive and placed him under arrest for two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00, and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Toms River Municipal Court in the amount of $400.00. Christopher Pereira was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Warrant ArrestOn Monday, September 12, 2016, at 1:07 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the area of the Lacey Township Public Library, located at 10 East Lacey Road in Forked River, in reference to a suspicious person. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 59-year-old Linda Moody of Bucklew Avenue in Monroe, New Jersey, on an outstanding Franklin Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,500.00. Linda Moody was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was later turned over to the custody of the Franklin Township Police Department.

Shoplifting Arrest On Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 8:48 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a  shoplifting. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 57-year-old Richard C. Simone, Jr. of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $5.00. Richard C. Simone, Jr., was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.

Eluding Arrest – On Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 2:17 a.m., Officer Charles May was on patrol when he observed an older model Ford Explorer exit the Laurel Harbor Marina parking lot located on Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. The vehicle was operating in a reckless manner.  The vehicle traveled west on Laurel Boulevard and passed Officer May at a high rate of speed, who was traveling east on Laurel Boulevard.  Officer May turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle by activating the emergency lights and siren of his patrol vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for Officer May and continued driving on side streets, before coming to a complete stop on Bay Way near Maple Road in Lanoka Harbor. The driver, a 17-year-old juvenile male from Lanoka Harbor, was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and charged with Second Degree Eluding. In addition he was issued traffic summonses for Reckless Driving, Speeding, and multiple Stop Sign Violations.  He was released to the custody of a parent.  The vehicle he was operating was impounded.

Theft (Residence) – On Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 4:29 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 300 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River, for a report of  a theft. The victim reported that between 4:30 p.m. on September 8, 2016 and 4:15 p.m. on September 10, 2016,  an unknown person or persons stole a Ryobi power tool set from an unlocked deck box in his backyard. The tool set, included a screw gun, grinder, circular saw, and a storage bag. The total theft is estimated at $140.00.

Theft (Residence)– On Friday, September 9, 2016, at 4:48 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 300 block of Constitution Drive in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2016, and 7:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole a lawn ornament from her front yard. The lawn ornament is described as a Cherub cement angel approximately two feet in height with a base pedestal of approximately six inches in height. The lawn ornament is valued at $50.00

Theft (Business) – On Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 9:23 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The manager reported that a motorcyclist received $8.97 worth of gasoline and then left without paying for it. The suspect, described as a large white male with dark brown hair and wearing a jean jacket, was operating a red Harley Davidson motorcycle with a tear drop gas tank. The incident is under investigation.

TheftOn Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 4:09 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the 1900 block of Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The victim reported that between September 4, 2016 and September 8, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole an Island Beach State Park beach buggy pass from the front bumper of his  Jeep Grand Cherokee that was parked at the residence.

Forgery/Check Fraud Arrest On Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer completed an ongoing investigation into forged checks which resulted in the arrest of 49-year-old Kimberly K. Monath of East Hickory Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. The landlord of Kimberly Monath reported that he was provided with a rent check on August 22, 2016, which was later determined to be fraudulent by Wells Fargo Bank after he attempted to deposit the check. During the investigation, Officer Schaffer discovered that Wells Fargo Bank had also received a fraudulent fax by someone representing themselves as an employee of “Investors Bank” regarding rectifying the problem with the check. Upon further investigation it was determined that Kimberly Monath had sent the fax. Kimberly Monath responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. She was arrested, processed, and released after receiving a criminal summons for Forgery and Bad Checks.

Lewdness and Warrant Arrest- On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 7:39 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Anthony Sarno responded to the 100 block of Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of  a Lewdness. Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of 22-year-old Joshua Dixon of  Route 9 South in Forked River for Lewdness.  During the investigation, it was also learned that Joshua Dixon had (2) two outstanding warrants, one (1) from the Point Pleasant Beach Municipal Court in the amount of $776.00 and one  (1) from the Beachwood Boro Municipal Court in the amount of $536.00.  Joshua Dixon was transported to police headquarters and processed.   He was charged with one count of Lewdness with bail set in the amount of $1500.00 with no 10 percent.  Joshua Dixon was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Drug Arrest – On Wednesday evening, September 7, 2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, led by Detective Lieutenant Christopher Cornelius, executed a residential search warrant on the 700 block of Eagleswood Place in Forked River, NJ. The warrant was sought during an ongoing narcotics investigation involving the residents of the home. During the search of the residence, Lacey detectives recovered 514 chemist folds containing heroin, and multiple medications without a valid prescription. The targets of the investigation, 29-year-old Anthony Cicerello, and his Fiancé, 26-year-old Melissa Loehnert, both of Eagleswood Place, were arrested. Anthony Cicerello was charged with Possession of Heroin and Intent to Distribute Heroin. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $250,000 bail.  Melissa Loehnert was charged with two counts of Possession of Heroin, Intent to Distribute Heroin, Distribution of Heroin, and Neglect of a Child.  She was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.  The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $5,000.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, September 5, 2016, at 10:01 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy conducted a traffic stop on Haines Street East near Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 50-year-old Ellen Tar of Bayberry Drive in Lanoka Harbor, on two (2) outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrants totaling $1250.00.  She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Ellen Tar posted bail and was released.

DUI Arrest On Monday, September 5, 2016, at 12:45 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey was dispatched to the area of Route 9 and Lacey Road in Forked River for a report of an intoxicated driver. A description of the vehicle was provided. While en route to the scene, Officer Verwey located the vehicle traveling on Route 9 near South Street in Lanoka Harbor and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 53-year-old Pamela A. Prusecki of Pheasant Drive in Bayville, NJ, for DUI.  She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Pamela A. Prusecki was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Drug Arrest On Friday, September 2, 2016, at 11:20 p.m., Officer Jesses Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Sunrise Boulevard and Willow Lane in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 33-year-old Thomas F. Tumminelli, Jr., of Brookdale Park Drive in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Thomas Tumminelli, Jr., was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less.

Warrant Arrest On Friday, September 2, 2016, at 9:22 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 and Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, 35-year-old Jesse D. Wirtz of Schooner Avenue in Barnegat, NJ, had a suspended driver’s license. In addition, two outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrants were located for his arrest.  Warrant number one (1) was issued in the amount of $750.00 and warrant number two (2) was issued in the amount of $150.00.  Jesse Wirtz was placed under arrest for the warrants and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was released after posting bail.  In addition, Jesse Wirtz received traffic summonses for Careless Driving and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

Drug Arrest On Friday, September 2, 2016, at 1:46 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Haines Street and Oak Hill Court in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, a 17-year-old juvenile male from Forked River, for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. The juvenile was charged with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less on a juvenile complaint and released to his parent. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Speeding and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

Motor Vehicle Accident with Injury On Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 11:20 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Robert Duffy responded to Pensacola Road in Forked River, for a report of a male who fell off of a moving vehicle. Upon the officers’ arrival, they discovered the 18-year-old victim lying in the street alert and conscious. The victim suffered a head injury, and as a result, was transported by helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.  An investigation led to the driver of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Scott V. Spina, Jr., of Essex Avenue in Bloomfield, NJ,  receiving several traffic summonses. The traffic summonses included, Reckless Driving, Riding on Parts Not Intended, Unregistered Vehicle, Failure to Exhibit Registration, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Fictitious License Plates.

Criminal Mischief  (Residence) On Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 3:33 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 800 block of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for a criminal mischief report. The investigation revealed that an unknown person or persons smashed the rear sliding glass door to the residence between 3:00 p.m. on August 31, 2016, and 3:15 p.m. on September 1, 2016. It did not appear that the door was opened or that entry was made into the residence. The value of the single pane sliding door is $1,000.00.

DUI and Warrant Arrest– On Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 3:24 p.m., Officers Scott Anderson and Michael Baldasari responded to the 300 block of Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for an intoxicated male.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32-year-old Thomas Cobb of Atlantic City Boulevard in Bayville, NJ for DUI. In addition, two outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrants in the total amount of $9372.00 were located for his arrest.  Thomas Cobb was transported to the Barnegat Township Police Headquarters and processed for the DUI.  He was then released to the custody of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department on the warrants. In addition, Thomas Cobb received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Driving with  Suspended Driver’s License.

Burglary and Theft (Auto) On Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 11:14 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 2000 block of Brookdale Park Drive in Forked River, for a theft report.  The complainant stated that between the evening hours of August 29, 2016, and the morning hours of August 31, 2016,  a Garmin GPS unit, a cell phone charger, and brown sunglasses were stolen from the center console of his unlocked vehicle that was parked at the residence. The total value of the stolen items is $100.00. The incident is under investigation.

Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 9:37 p.m., Officers George Resetar and Charlie May responded to the 800 block of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor to serve an arrest warrant. Upon arrival the Officers met with 44-year-old Lorraine Schuster of Hazelton Avenue and arrested her on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued from the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $800.00. Lorraine Schuster was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

DUI Arrest– On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 1:20 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Harrison Avenue in Forked River.  Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of 20-year-old Anthony J. Amato of Cypress Street in Forked River for DUI.  He was transported to police headquarter and processed. Anthony J. Amato was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Unregistered Vehicle.  The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 6:19 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 100 block of Caldwell Avenue in Forked River for a report of a burglary.  The victim reported that between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on August 30, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her home and stole two (2) three-month old Siamese cats.  There were no signs of forced entry.

DUI and Obstructing the Administration of Law Arrest– On Monday, August 29, 2016, at 12:38 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Taylor Lane and Lakeside Drive South in Forked River.  Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of 26-year-old Nico Morgan of Saltspray Drive in Forked River for DUI and Obstructing the Administration of Law.  He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Nico Morgan was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, Following too Closely and Improper Passing.  In addition, he received a criminal summons for Obstructing the Administration of Law.  The vehicle Nico Morgan was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

CDS and DUI Arrest with Traffic Accident – On Monday, August 29, 2016 at 8:17 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 9 North near Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of one of the drivers, identified as 35-year-old Christopher Alvarez of Nixon Avenue in Bayville, NJ for DUI.  In addition, he was found to be in possession of CDS. Christopher Alvarez was transported to police headquarters and processed.  He was released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of CDS (Heroin), Possession of CDS (Heroin) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug, Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  In addition he received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Improper Use of a Cell Phone.  The vehicle Christopher Alvarez was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI Arrest– On Sunday, August 28, 2016, at 3:44 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the intersection of Lake Barnegat Drive North and Stuyvesant Street in Forked River, for a report of a male driver passed out behind the steering wheel of a vehicle.  Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of 26-year-old Robert W. Finch, Jr., of Trenton Ave North in Forked River for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Robert W. Finch Jr., was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving.  The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI with Accident Arrest– On Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 8:45 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the area of Lacey Liquors located at 349 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident (vehicle struck a tree in the parking lot). In addition, it was reported that the driver might be intoxicated. An investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of 53-year-old Dominic Lucci of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. Dominic Lucci was transported to police headquarters and processed.  He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Driving while Suspended, and Uninsured Vehicle.  The vehicle Dominic Lucci was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

DUI Arrest with Accident– On Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 4:47 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Daniel Ricciardella responded to a hit and run traffic accident in the area of Route 9 North and First Street in Lanoka Harbor.  A short time later the suspect vehicle was located near the intersection of East Haines Street and Cedarwood Drive in Lanoka Harbor. The driver, 26-year-old James P. Burns of Penn Place in Forked River, was arrested for DUI.  He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  James P. Burns was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Accident, and Failure to Report a Traffic Accident. The vehicle James P. Burns was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Theft- On Friday, August 26, 2016, at 3:27 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to the 600 block of Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River, for a report of a stolen bicycle.  The complainant stated that between 4:00 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. on August 26, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole his bicycle from the front yard of his residence.  The bicycle was described as a Fit Bike and is valued at $200.00.

Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Friday, August 26, 2016, at 1:12 p.m., Officers Scott Anderson and Michael Baldasari responded to the 600 block of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a theft.  The victim reported that between 12:30 a.m. and 1:10 a.m., on August 26, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his residence and stole $1800.00 in cash and his prescribed medication.  There were no signs of forced entry. The total theft is valued at $2000.00.

Shoplifting – On Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 4:10 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 41-year-old Brian R. Zartarian of Browning Avenue in Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $44.94. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Brian Zartarian was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.

Theft– On Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 8:10 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 900 block of Clifton Street in Forked River, for a report of a theft.  The victim reported that between 5:00 p.m. on August 24, 2016, and 6:00 a.m. on August 25, 2016, various tools were stolen from the bed of his pickup truck while it was parked in the driveway of his residence.  The tools were said to be in work bags and consisted of various 20 volt Dewalt drills and accessories. The tools were valued at $1,310.00.
