Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 6th, 2017 through January 11th, 2017
- Providing Alcohol to Underage Persons and Underage Possession of Alcohol – On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, Officer Dalziel was on patrol when he observed a suspicious incident involving two males and two vehicles in the 7-11 Store parking lot located on the corner of Route 9 and First Street in Forked River. Officer Dalziel ultimately conducted a traffic stop on one of the vehicles. An investigation determined that 24-year-old Michael A. Krasowski of Algonquin Trail in Forked River had just purchased alcoholic beverages and provided them to a 17-year-old male from Forked River. Michael A. Krasowski was issued a Special Form of Complaint for Making Alcohol Available to Underaged Persons and released at the scene. The 17-year-old male was issued a summons for speeding. In addition, the 17-year-old male from Forked River was later charged on a Juvenile Complaint with Underage Possession of Alcohol.
- Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 9:59 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Patrick Watkins responded to the 700 block of Meadow Lane in Forked River to serve an arrest warrant. Upon arrival the officers arrested 34-year-old Michael A. Madensky of Meadow Lane in Forked River, on an outstanding Hunterdon County warrant in the bail amount of $4081.25. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Michael A. Madensky was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Theft – On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 1200 block of Olds Street in Forked River, for a theft report. The victim stated that a short time prior to contacting this agency he entered a restaurant located at 13 Lacey Road in Forked River, leaving his wallet and cell phone on the bench out front. When the victim returned his wallet, containing $50.00 was missing. A female suspect was identified and the incident is under investigation.
- Drug Arrest – On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 11:39 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South near Station Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Mahz Zafar of Persimmon Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Mahz Zafar was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, he received traffic summonses for CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Maintain Lane.
- Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary and Criminal Mischief (Vehicle) – On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 5:00 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 400 block of Barnacle Road in Forked River in regard to an attempted burglary to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 10:00 p.m. on January 9, 2017, and 7:00 a.m. on January 10, 2017, an unknown person or persons attempted to force entry into his work vehicle by prying a door and doorlock. Entry was not gained, however, the cost to repair the damage to the vehicle is estimated at $500.00.
- Shoplifting – On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 2:05 p.m., Sergeant Robert Flynn and Officers Charles May and George Resetar responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Joseph J. Kelly of Mercer Drive in Toms River, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $300.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Joseph J. Kelly was charged on a complaint warrant with shoplifting and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- Trespassing – On Monday, January 9, 2017, at 11:08 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Christopher Meyler responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for an individual refusing to the leave the store. Upon arrival it was determined that the accused, identified as 40-year-old Russell Cox of Bear Island Drive in Barnegat, NJ was trespassing as a result of being informed during a prior incident that he was not allowed in the store. As a result Russell Cox was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released after receiving a complaint summons for trespassing.
- Municipal Ordinance Violation – On Monday, January 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson, Martin Julian, and Evan Androcy, responded to the 100 block of Greenwood Lane in Forked River, for a report of a possible burglary in progress. A description of the potential suspect was provided. Upon arrival officers located 34-year-old Nicholas Kutassy of Merrimac Road in Forked River, who advised them that he was going to each residence in the area to solicit business. Nicholas Kutassy was issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons charging him with Soliciting without a Permit. He was released from the scene pending a court date. The on-scene investigation revealed that a burglary did not occur.
- Theft – On Monday, January 9, 2017, at 12:36 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Exelon, located at 800 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The complainant reported that between August and December 2016, four (4) Toro Power Max Snow Blowers valued at $250.00 each were stolen from one of the rear buildings located on the site. The incident is under investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 7:03 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to police headquarters to serve an outstanding warrant on 29-year-old Diana Y. Gerges of Country Club Road in Livingston, NJ. The warrant was issued from the Lacey Township Municipal Court with a bail amount of $500.00. Diana Y. Gerges was processed and released after posting the full bail.
- Shoplifting – On Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 6:05 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Jason Lee responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old John M. Papiomitis of Capstan Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $397.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. John M. Papiomitis was charged on a criminal warrant with shoplifting and later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 1:18 p.m., Special Officer Adam Bylsma took a report of Criminal Mischief to a Lacey Township Speed Limit sign. The sign, located at the intersection of Twin River Drive and Arlington Lane North in Forked River, was spray-painted. The cost to repair the sign was estimated at $50.00.
- Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 11:42 a.m., Special Officer Adam Bylsma took a report of Criminal Mischief to a Lacey Township “Dead End” sign. The sign, located on Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River, was spray-painted. The cost to repair the sign was estimated at $50.00.
- DUI With Accident (Arrest) – On Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 11:48 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to an aggressive driver complaint on Beach Boulevard in Forked River. A description of the vehicle was provided. Upon arrival, Officer Ricciardella located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Lacey Elks, located at 900 Beach Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old Todd M. Mai of Alpine Street in Forked River, for DUI. The investigation determined that Todd Mai was involved in a motor vehicle accident a short time prior on Station Drive in Forked River, and fled the scene. Todd Mai was transported to police headquarters and processed. Todd M. Mai was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. The vehicle Todd Mai was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting – On Friday, January 6, 2017, at 4:09 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting. Investigation at the scene revealed that an unidentified male and two females stole merchandise valued at $1,404.91, by concealing the merchandise in two tote bags and leaving the store through an emergency exit. The incident is under investigation.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 30th, 2016 through January 6th, 2017
- Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Friday, January 6, 2017, at 5:00 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Charles May responded to the 700 block of Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor, to serve two outstanding warrants. Upon arrival the officers arrested 24-year-old Kyle Pianetti of Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor, on two (2) outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court Warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued in the bail amount of $500.00 and warrant number two (2) was issued in the bail amount of $539.00. Kyle Pianetti was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Shoplifting – On Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 4:58 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that approximately an hour prior to contacting the police, a female subject was observed on security video putting three (3) Nest Thermostats and a bag into a shopping cart. The female then placed the thermostats into the bag and fled the store through a fire exit only door. The female fled on foot west on Haines Street toward the rail trail. The female suspect is described as a white female, approximately 25-years-old, with red hair, wearing multicolored pants and a black coat. The value of the stolen merchandise is estimated at $750.00. The incident is under investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 2:47 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe was patrolling the parking lot of Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, when he observed two occupants sleeping inside a vehicle. Officer Keefe conducted a well-being check of the occupants. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of one of the occupants, identified as 30-year-old John M. Papiomitis of Capstan Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, on an outstanding Brick Township Municipal Court warrant with bail in the amount of $250.00. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. John Papiomitis was released on his own recognizance by the Brick Township Municipal Court.
- Warrant Arrest – On Monday, January 2, 2017, at 10:19 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the area of First Street and Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of an erratic driver. Officer Verwey located the occupied vehicle in the parking lot of the 7-11 store, located at 403 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a passenger, identified as 34-year-old Nicholas R. Kutassy of Merrimac Road in Forked River, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1,000.00. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Nicholas Kutassy was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 1, 2017, at 5:43 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 400 block of Barnacle Road in Forked River for a report of an intoxicated female refusing to leave the residence. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Regina M. Moore of Blackhorse Pike in Egg Harbor, NJ on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1,000.00. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Regina Moore was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, January 1, 2017, at 2:54 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 2000 block of Lacey Road in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 5:00 p.m. on December 29, 2016 and 10:00 a.m. on December 30, 2016 an unknown person or persons damaged the mailbox in front of her residence. The damage is estimated at $50.00.
- Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Friday, December 30, 2016, at 10:13 p.m., Special Officer Adam Bylsma was on patrol when he observed criminal mischief to township property. An unknown person or persons spray-painted a Lacey Township “Children at Play” traffic sign, located on the 700 block of Sandy Hook Drive in the Forked River. The Lacey Township Department of Public Works was notified and responded to repair the sign. The cost to repair the sign was estimated at $25.00.
- Shoplifting – On Friday, December 30, 2016, at 6:57 p.m., Officers Charles May and Andrew Slota responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifting. The loss prevention employee reported that he observed an adult male purchase a tool bag and then proceed back to the hardware section of the store where he was observed removing tools from their packaging and placing them inside the tool bag. The subject then attempted to leave the store through the front entrance without paying for the merchandise he concealed. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old Christopher C. Aponte of Willow Street in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $134.60. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Christopher Aponte was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Aggravated Assault – On Friday, December 30, 2016, at 2:24 p.m., Officers Michael Hein and Jeffrey Slota responded to the parking lot of 701 Lacey Road in Forked River, in reference to a road rage incident. The complainant reported that he was stopped in the Garden State Parkway toll plaza for southbound exit 74 when the driver behind him became agitated with how long he was stopped at the toll booth. The driver behind him began to excessively honk his car horn. The complainant further reported that he allowed the other vehicle to go around him. After proceeding through the toll, the complainant traveled east on Lacey Road when he came to a complete stop for the red traffic signal at the intersection of Lacey Road and Deerhead Lake Drive. The complainant advised that the driver of the same vehicle pulled into the parking lot of 701 Lacey Road and exited his vehicle. The driver then approached his stopped vehicle at the traffic signal and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and fled the scene. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 50 to 60 years old, 5’ 8” tall, 240 pounds, with dirty blond hair and a gray beard. The vehicle is described as a dark colored sport utility vehicle. The victim refused medical treatment. The incident is under investigation.
Weekly Police Blotter — Lacey Township Police Department — December 24th through December 29th
- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, December 29, 2016, at 9:51 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to 540 Lacey Road for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 56-year-old passenger, James E. Grove of Letts Landing Road, Waretown, NJ, for an outstanding traffic warrant for 39:4-50 out of Ocean Township. Grove was transported to police headquarters and processed for the warrant with bail in the amount of $100.00. He was released after posting bail.
- Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 10:03 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Taylor Lane for a driver with a suspended license. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 47-year-old Ronald Johnson of Central Avenue, Waretown, NJ, for an outstanding traffic warrant for 39:4-56 out of Sayreville Borough. Johnson was transported to police headquarters and processed for the warrant with bail in the amount of $139.00. Ronald Johnson was released after posting bail. He also was issued a summons for Driving While Suspended.
- Theft- On Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 12:52 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 600 block of Wilbert Avenue for a report of a stolen credit card. The owner reported seeing two fraudulent charges on her credit card and reported this activity to have occurred on 12/27/2016 at 9:11 a.m. & 9:29 a.m. Investigation revealed a suspect and charges are pending.
- CDS Possession – On Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 7:24 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Clearwater Drive for failure to maintain lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 38-year-old Tracy L. Steins of Maple Street, Waretown, NJ, along with passenger, 42-year-old Gabrielle Vasquez-Valencia of Maple Street, Waretown, NJ for CDS possession. Steins and Vasquez-Valencia were transported to police headquarters and processed. Gabrielle Vasquez-Valencia was released on a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and Tracy L. Steins was released on a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams, along with motor vehicle summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane, Fictitious Plates, Driving While Suspended, Uninsured Motorist and CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
- Suspicious Incident – On Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 3:15 p.m., Officers Daniel Ricciardella and Brian Holt responded to 500 Route 9 North (Lanlac Building) for a report of theft of garbage from the back of the building. Caller stated that two white males, one wearing a grey hat and grey sweatshirt and the other wearing dark clothes and carrying a black backpack, removed a garbage bag from the garbage container in the back of the building. Officers were unable to locate any suspects matching the description at the scene. At this time, it is unknown what the garbage bag contained.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 7:11 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to an aggressive driver complaint heading east bound on Lacey Road, west of the parkway. Officer Sarno made contact with a vehicle matching the description and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near Arlington Avenue. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32-year-old Michelle M. Anstee, Mizzen Way, Waretown, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on motor vehicle summons for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to exhibit an Insurance Card. Michelle Anstee was also issued a criminal summons for DUI with a Minor Child in the Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary/Theft – On Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 7:06 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the Heritage Apartments, Newark Ave, reference a burglary and theft. The owner reported that someone entered her apartment and stole $100.00 from her purse that was located in the apartment. The owner believed she closed the door when she went to visit a friend in the building. No signs of forced entry were observed.
- DUI Arrest – On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 10:37 p.m., Officers Adam Bylsma and Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Haines Street near Manchester Avenue for failure to maintain lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 37-year-old Jennifer M. Delconte of Central Boulevard, Bayville, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after receiving traffic summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane, Reckless Driving and DUI. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) – On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 8:00 p.m., Officer Adam Bylsma took a report of Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) to a traffic sign on Clubhouse Drive. The sign was covered with brown paint. The damage was estimated at $50.00.
- Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) – On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 6:37 p.m., Officer Adam Bylsma took a report of Criminal Mischief (Graffiti) to a stop sign on Commodore Drive. The sign was covered with a black colored sticker. The sign was repaired by Lacey DPW. The damage was estimated at $100.00.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 15th through December 23rd, 2016
- Shoplifting – On Friday, December 23, 2016, at 9:21 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter who fled the store. Officer Dalziel was further advised that the suspect was at the bus stop on the corner of Route 9 and Haines Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jonathan A. White of Potomac Court in Barnegat, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $263.15. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jonathan White was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Shoplifting – On Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 2:34 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Lauren C. Prowse of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $34.15. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Lauren Prowse was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Drug and Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 8:26 p.m., detectives from the Lacey Township Police Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on Center Street near Newark Avenue in Forked River, during a drug investigation. Detectives identified four occupants in the vehicle, 24-year-old Julia Michota of Brick Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, 24-year-old Aleshia Casper of Wood Avenue in Forked River, 24-year-old Frederick Vona of Wood Avenue in Forked River, and a 5-year-old child in the care of Julia Michota. Aleshia Casper was arrested on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. While searching Aleshia Casper she was found to be in possession of 17 bags of heroin. In addition, Frederick Vona was arrested on two outstanding warrants, including a Robbinsville Municipal Court warrant and an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant, totaling $3271. Each subject was charged with Possession of Heroin and a Title 9 offense for Child Endangerment. In addition to these charges, Julia Michota and Aleshia Casper were charged with Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. All three adults were transported to police headquarters and processed. Julia Michota was released on her own recognizance. Aleshia Casper and Frederick Vona were both lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail. The 5-year-old child was released to family members.
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 8:22 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol when he observed 22-year-old Cole Gonnella of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, walking on Clairmore Avenue near Edwards Street in Lanoka Harbor. Officer Sarno was aware of an outstanding warrant for Cole Gonnella’s arrest. Officer Sarno contacted Cole Gonnella and placed him under arrest on two outstanding warrants, including a Stafford Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1000 and a Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1000. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Cole Gonnella was unable to post bail and was turned over to the custody of the Stafford Township Police Department.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Monday, December 19, 2016, at 10:34 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 8:15 a.m., and 12:00 p.m., on December 16, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle parked near the Lacey Library on East Lacey Road and stole prescription medication valued at $300.
- Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 2:35 p.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 1000 block of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that between 11:00 p.m. on December 17, 2016, and 8:00 a.m. on December 18, 2016, an unknown person or persons cut the electrical wires for the Christmas lights located in the front yard of the residence. The damage is estimated at $20.00.
- Shoplifting – On Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 7:16 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Julie Barcalow responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 26-year-old Jacob Haefele of 24th Street in Brigantine, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $15.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jacob Haefele was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary and Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Friday, December 16, 2016, at 2:05 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 1200 block of Spruce Street in Forked River, for a suspicious incident. The victim reported that between 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m., on December 16, 2016, an unknown person or persons atempted to force entry into the residence by prying the front door open. Pry marks were located on the front door frame. Entry does not appear to have been gained.
- Shoplifting – On Friday, December 16, 2016, at 2:51 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 48-year-old Joseph G. Perrone, Jr., of Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $119.92. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Joseph G. Perrone, Jr., was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Theft (Business) – On Friday, December 16, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Headz or Nails located at 442 Lacey Road in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 8:00 p.m., on December 15, 2016, and 8:00 a.m., on December 16, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole two large Christmas planters from the exterior of the businesses. The theft is estimated at $80.00.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 8th through December 14th, 2016
- Shoplifting – On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, Officer Michael Baldasari completed a shoplifting investigation, resulting in the arrest of 56-year-old Giacomino Sandella of Oak Hill Court in Lanoka Harbor. The shoplifting occurred on November 3, 2016, at the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River. During the incident Giacomino Sandella shoplifted merchandise valued at $31.69 before fleeing the store. He was processed, charged, and released on a complaint summons for Shoplifting.
- Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 7:41 p.m., Officer Robert Duffy responded to the 1000 block of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on December 13, 2016, an unknown person or persons cut electrical wiring for her Christmas Lights. The damage is estimated at $10.00.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 6:47 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 400 block of Penn Avenue North in Forked River, for a theft report. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of December 13th, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered two unlocked vehicles that were parked in the driveway and stole property. The first vehicle entered had a brown leather wallet stolen, which contained the victim’s New Jersey driver’s license, vehicle registration, Social Security card, $10.00 cash and assorted credit cards and medical cards, with a total value of $25.00. The second vehicle had a PBA gold card valued at $5.00. stolen. The incident is under investigation.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Monday, December 12, 2016, at 3:57 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that on December 12, 2016, at approximately 6:00 a.m. he discovered his backpack valued at $25.00 missing from his vehicle. The victim believes it was taken sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on December 11, 2016 while he was shopping at either Home Depot, Kohl’s, or Shop Rite in Lacey Township. In addition to the backpack, a Dell laptop computer valued at $1500.00, a tablet valued at $200.00 and headphones valued at $20.00 were stolen. The total theft is valued at $1,745.00. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle and the incident is under investigation.
- Theft – On Monday, December 12, 2016, at 12:28 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the 400 block of Nantucket Road in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on December 11, 2016, and 12:20 a.m. on December 12, 2016, an unknown person or persons removed the victim’s laser light display from her front yard. The laser light display is valued at $50.00.
- Shoplifting – On Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 6:38 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 44-year-old Alfred C. Castino of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $10.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Alfred Castino was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 4:55 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 500 block of Crosswick Avenue in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between 7:30 p.m. on December 10, 2016 and 1:00 p.m. on December 11, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole her wallet, along with additional property from the center console. The victim was unsure if the vehicle was locked. The wallet was a black leather wristlet that had a skull with diamond eyes on it, valued at $180.00. The contents of the wallet included a New Jersey driver’s license, $45.00 cash, a family member PBA gold card and various credit cards. In addition, two knives and two small mace self-defense sprays were stolen from the vehicle. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $235.00.
- Drug Arrest – On Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 1:34 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road and Trenton Avenue North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 19-year-old Christopher E. Gomez of Point O Woods Drive in Toms River, New Jersey, for Possession of Marijuana. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Christopher Gomez was released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition he received traffic summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
- DUI Arrest – On Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 11:59 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive North and Brentwood Place in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 51-year-old Dale A. Pierson, Jr., of Spar Drive in Forked River for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Dale Pierson, Jr., was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Maintenance of Lamps, Improper Passing and Failure to Yield. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- DUI, Possession of CDS, and Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 12:24 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler was dispatched to the 1100 block of Laurel Boulevard, in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old Thomas J. Girone, Jr., of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. In addition, several open wax-folds of Heroin were located in his lap when he was initially contacted. Thomas Girone, Jr., was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged with Possession of CDS (Heroin) and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Bail was set in the amount of $10,000.00. In addition, Thomas Girone, Jr., received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Driving with a Suspended License, Failure to Produce Insurance Cards and Tinted Windows. Furthermore, Thomas J. Girone, Jr., had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant with bail in the amount of $458.00. He was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. The vehicle Thomas J. Girone, Jr., was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting – On Friday, December 9, 2016, at 3:56 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a shoplifter. Initially the female shoplifter had fled the store, leaving her property and the stolen merchandise behind, however, she later returned to retrieve the property. When she returned to retrieve the property, she was apprehended by Loss Prevention. In addition, when she was apprehended, she assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Jennine P. Lizer of Elizabeth Avenue in Toms River. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jennine P. Lizer was charged with Shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $20.00, Defiant Trespass and Simple Assault.
