Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 20th through April 27th, 2017
- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 8:34 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an intoxicated male inside the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 52-year-old John M. Clancy of Hemlock Drive in Lanoka Harbor, on an outstanding Atlantic City Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $100. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. John Clancy was released after posting bail.
- Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 8:12 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 1000 block of Orlando Drive in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 5:30 a.m. on April 24, 2017 and the evening of April 26, 2017, an unknown person or persons cut several window screens on his residence. The residence does not appear to have been entered. The damage to the screens is estimated at $100.
- Criminal Mischief and Trespassing (Residence) – On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 6:35 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 1000 block of Orlando Drive in Forked River, for a report of four juveniles who were observed exiting from the rear of a vacant residence. Investigation at the scene revealed that several window screens on the vacant residence were cut and forced entry had been made into the residence. The interior of the residence was checked and no additional damage was located. The damage to the screens is estimated at $100. The incident remains under investigation.
- Theft of Fire Hydrant – On Monday, April 24, 2017, at 7:52 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Western Boulevard between Ridgemont Drive and the Lutheran Church parking lot in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a fire hydrant that was damaged. Upon arrival the officer observed that the fire hydrant had been stolen. In addition, an “End of School Zone” sign had been knocked down. The Lacey MUA responded to the scene to shut off the water to the fire hydrant. The cost of the stolen fire hydrant is $2,700.
- Criminal Mischief – On Monday, April 24, 2017, at 8:42 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the Lacey Township Recycling Yard for a criminal mischief complaint. Investigation at the scene revealed that between 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017, and 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, an unknown person or persons broke a Plexiglas window on a 2016 Doppstadt SM 720 Plus trammel screen which is used to filter trash out of dirt and mulch. The equipment is owned by the Ocean County Department of Public Works and this is the second report of criminal mischief on the machine. The first incident was reported on Monday, April 17, 2017. The current damage is estimated at $100.
- Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 9:09 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 400 block of Devon Street in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief. Investigation at the scene revealed that just prior to contacting this agency the complainant was in her residence watching television when she heard glass breaking outside. An investigation revealed that a rock from the front yard of the residence was thrown through a storm window. The estimated value of the window is $150.
- Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 8:20 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop at Hollywood Boulevard and Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 33-year-old Kelly R. Burk of Oahu Drive in Forked River, on an active Margate City Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $140. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kelly Burk was released after posting bail.
- Theft from Vehicle – On Friday, April 21, 2017, at 4:47 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the parking lot of 1015 Lacey Road in Forked River, in reference to a missing license plate from a BMW. The complainant advised Officer Baldasari that she noticed the license plate missing on Friday, April 21, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m., but was unsure of when it may have been removed from the vehicle. The license plate is valued at $10.00.
- DUI Arrest – On Friday, April 21, 2017, at 2:24 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop at the Forked River House Plaza, located at 121 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 37-year-old Lennon B. Ambrose of East Lacey Road in Forked River, for DUI. In addition, he was found to have an outstanding Lakehurst Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $150. Lennon Ambrose was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Using a Handheld Phone While Driving, and Driving With a Suspended License. He was ROR’D on the outstanding Lakehurst warrant. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Drug Arrest – On Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 3:49 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the wooded area behind a residence on the 700 block of Sandy Hook Drive in Forked River, for a report of a group of males smoking unknown substances. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 19-year-old Timothy Matthews of Nantucket Road in Forked River and three juvenile males from Forked River, for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. All four males were transported to police headquarters and processed. Timothy Matthews was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. The three juveniles were charged on juvenile complaints and released to their parents.
- Shoplifting – On Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 3:06 p.m., Officers Daniel Ricciardella and Brian Holt responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for two juvenile female shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 15-year-old female from Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise valued at $24.58. In addition, a second female, identified as a 16-year-old female from Forked River, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $30.61. Both female juveniles were charged on juvenile complaints with shoplifting and released to a parent.

- Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 11:11 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Game Farm Road and Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrests of the driver, identified as 22-year-old Roger F. McMenamin of Shadow Oaks Drive in Toms River, NJ, and a passenger, identified as 25-year-old Timothy R. Simpson of Hazelwood Road in Toms River, NJ, for possession of CDS. They were both transported to Police Headquarters and processed. They both received criminal summonses for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and were released. In addition, Roger McMenamin was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and was issued traffic summonses for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Speeding
- Burglary and Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 10:18 a.m., Officer Scott Anderson responded to the 200 block of Good Luck Road in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief to a vacant house. The complainant reported that between Monday, April 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, April 19, 2017, an unknown person or persons forced entry into the residence and damaged items within. In addition, the front door was damaged. The damage is estimated at over $500. The incident remains under investigation.
- DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 9:30 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Haines Street and Jacqueline Court in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 18-year-old John K. Kalamaras of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. John Kalamaras was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 4:20 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to police headquarters to take a theft report. The complainant reported that between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017, and 8:00 a.m. on April 18, 2017, $46 was stolen from her purse while it was at her residence on the 1800 block of Binnacle Road in Forked River. There were no signs of forced entry. The complainant named a suspect and the incident remains under investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 2:02 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson conducted a traffic stop near the Forked River State Marina on Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 30-year-old Kimberly A. Tompkins of Bonnie Drive in Middletown, NJ, on an outstanding Middletown Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $250. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Kimberly Tompkins was released after posting bail.
- DUI with Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Monday, April 17, 2017, at 9:10 p.m., Officers Martin Julian and Andrew Slota responded to the area of Beach Boulevard and Route 9 in Forked River, for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash. The caller reported the suspect vehicle fled the scene heading north on Route 9. The suspect vehicle then struck a second vehicle on Lakeside Drive South near Taylor Lane. The suspect vehicle was located on Elwood Street in Forked River. An investigation led to the arrest of 32-year-old John C. Molloy of Elwood Street in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. John Molloy was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving (2 counts), Failure to Maintain Lane (2 counts), Failure to Report an Accident (2 counts), and Leaving the Scene of an Accident (2 counts). A passenger in the vehicle struck on Lakeside Drive South sustained minor injuries. The vehicle John Malloy was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.
- Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Monday, April 17, 2017, at 9:24 a.m., Officer Charles May responded to the Lacey Township Recycling Yard, located at 820 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a criminal mischief report. Investigation at the scene revealed that between 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, and 9:00 a.m. on April 17, 2017, an unknown person or persons spray-painted graffiti on a piece of heavy equipment owned by the Ocean County Department of Public Works. The damage is estimated at $100.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, April 16, 2017, at 8:14 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Haines Street and Manchester Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Jennifer M. Alexander of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Jennifer Alexander was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Drug Arrest – On Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 9:23 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the area of Route 9 South and Beach Boulevard in Forked River, for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. While checking the parking lot of Wawa, located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, Officer Keefe was informed there was a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Ryan J. Tatham of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, and a passenger, identified as 27-year-old Kyle A. Conroy of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, for possession of CDS. They were transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Ryan Tatham and Kyle Conroy were both released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of CDS Heroin, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, Ryan Tatham received a criminal summons for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, along with a traffic summons for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
- Shoplifting and Drug Arrest – On Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 7:11 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a female shoplifter that fled the store. The female shoplifter was last seen driving out of the parking lot on to Haines Street. A description of the vehicle was provided. Officer Sarno located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Sarah K. Warthen of Mermaid Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $25.31. In addition, she was found to be in possession of CDS. Sarah Warthen was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting, Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, Sarah Warthen received traffic summonses for CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Tinted Windows.
- Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 4:26 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 52-year-old Laura S. Bowker of Woodmere Drive in Keyport, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $383.98. In addition, an outstanding Eatontown Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $501 was located for her arrest. Laura Bowker was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Laura Bowker was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting. In addition, she posted bail on the warrant.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) Arrest – On Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 7:05 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 1300 block of Lee Way in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017, and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and stole property including but not limited to a Jansport backpack, an HP laptop computer, and “Geoffrey Beene” eyeglasses. While checking the area, Officer Meyler observed two males, one adult and one juvenile, and a juvenile female walking together on Olds Street. Officer Hein arrived on scene to assist. An investigation at the scene determined that the two males were in possession of stolen property from the Lee Way car burglary. In addition, it was determined that the two males were also in possession of stolen property from a car burglary that had been reported on the 1300 block of Moosehead Street. The adult male, identified as 18-year-old Jordan M. Steck of Front Street in Mount Holly, NJ, and the juvenile male, identified as a 16-year-old juvenile from Muriel Avenue in North Plainfield, NJ, were arrested and transported to Police Headquarters. Jordan M. Steck was processed and charged with two counts of Burglary, two counts of Theft, one count of Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer (False Name), and one count of Employing a Juvenile to Commit a Crime. Jordan Steck was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing. The 16-year-old juvenile male from North Plainfield was processed and charged on a juvenile complaint with Burglary and Theft. The juvenile male was released to the custody of a parent. The juvenile female was not charged at the time. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.
- Providing Alcohol to Underage Persons and Underage Consumption of Alcohol – On Friday, April 14, 2017, at 11:01 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the 300 block of Bayside East Parkway in Forked River for a loud party complaint. Investigation at the scene led the issuance of a Special Form of Complaint and Summons to the resident, 20-year-old Thomas Blackwood, for Making Alcoholic Beverages Available to Anderage Persons. In addition, a 16-year-old female from Forked River, was charged on a juvenile complaint with Underage Consumption of Alcohol and released to her mother at the scene.
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, April 14, 2017, at 10:36 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Game Farm Road and Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 32-year-old Heather M. Shave of Crystal Drive in Toms River, NJ, on an outstanding Red Bank Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1,000. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Heather Shave was released ROR by Red Bank. In addition, she received a traffic summons for Failure to Observe Traffic Signal.

- DUI Arrest – On Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 11:40 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the area of Tampa Road in Forked River, for a possible intoxicated driver. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Julie Patterson of Tampa Road in Forked River, for DUI. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Julie Patterson was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- DUI Arrest – On Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 10:15 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sommerell Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Jennifer Alexander of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Jennifer Alexander was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Consuming Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Failure to use Headlights, and Failure to Observe Stop Sign. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Drug Arrest – On Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 1:29 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a suspicious vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Brian Weaver of Parkside Drive in Forked River, for possession of CDS. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, he received a traffic summons for CDS in a motor vehicle.
- Underage Consumption of Alcohol – On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 2:33 a.m., Officers Elton Copes and Jesse Dalziel responded to the area of Parker Avenue and Mill Street in Forked River, for a juvenile jumping over fences. Investigation at the scene revealed that a 15-year-old male juvenile displayed signs of intoxication. The juvenile admitted to sneaking out of his home and consuming alcohol. Juvenile complaints will be signed.
- DUI Arrest – On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 12:59 a.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and Elton Copes responded to Whitcomb Road in Forked River for a disturbance call. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 38-year-old Jennifer Alexander of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Jennifer Alexander was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, and Reckless Driving. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting Arrest/False Information – On Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 4:47 p.m., Officers Evan Androcy and Patrick Watkins responded to Home Depot, located at 244 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Louis Dautorio 4th, of Center Street in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $199.97. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Louis Dautorio 4th was charged on a complaint warrant with Shoplifting and Hindering Apprehension (providing false information to pol and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- Warrant Arrest – On Monday, April 10, 2017, at 12:09 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to police headquarters to serve an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant. The warrant was issued for shoplifting with a bail amount of $800. The accused, 44-year-old Lorraine Schuster of Hazelton Avenue in Forked River was processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 11:40 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop near Clearwater Drive and Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Anthony Butler of Brandywine Court in Bricktown, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Anthony Butler was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to take a breath test, Reckless Driving, Tailgating and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 7:37 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a well being check. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Joseph Fredericks, of Olden Avenue, in Neptune, NJ, on an outstanding Freehold Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1121. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Joseph Fredericks was unable to post bail and was turned over to the custody of the Freehold Township Police Department.
- DUI Arrest – On Friday, April 7, 2017, at 7:49 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop near Beach Boulevard and Biscayne Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 58-year-old Mark Marottoli of Faitoute Avenue in Kenilworth, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to take a breath test, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 31st through April 6th, 2017
- Shoplifting, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Marijuana – On Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 10:56 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari, Jason Lee, and Michael Verwey responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for three shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 40-year-old Grover Blair of 4th Street in New Brunswick, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $1800, hindering apprehension by initially providing a false name to police officers and for possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, three outstanding warrants were located for his arrest. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and was a no-bail warrant. Warrant number two (2) was issued from the East Brunswick Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500 and warrant number three (3) was issued from the New Brunswick Municipal Court in the bail amount of $200. Furthermore 23-year-old Dashaunna Jennings of West Main Street in Bound Brook, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $1800, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. 28-year-old Shante Walker of Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, NJ, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $1800. All three subjects were transported to Police Headquarters and processed. They were charged on complaint warrants and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
- Drug Arrest – On Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 9:17 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 near Jones Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 21-year-old James E. Whitley of Horner Lane in Forked River for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. James E. Whitley was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Daniel Ricciardella responded to Kohls, located at 304 Route 9 N in Forked River for two female shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrests of 41-year-old Deana G. Walton of 6th Street in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $272.49, and 33 year Jessica L. Smith of Southwind Drive in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $397.00. They were both transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Deana G. Walton and Jessica L. Smith were released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Theft- On Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 10:46 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1200 block of Kennebec Rd in Forked River, for a theft report. The victim reported that between 12:00 p.m. on April 5, 2017 and 10:00 a.m. on April 6, 2017, an unknown person or persons stole two new screens off the windows of his residence. The screens were valued at $20.00 each.
- Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 10:56 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop on the 800 block of Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 24-year-old Michael R. Ziolkowski of Nantucket Road in Forked River, on an outstanding Tinton Falls Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $89. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Michael R. Ziolkowski was released after posting bail. In addition, he was issued a traffic summons for Maintenance of Lamps.
- Drug Arrest – On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 9:43 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler observed a suspicious male walking in the area of Route 9 and Oak Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old David M. Nylen of Windward Avenue, in Beachwood, NJ, for possession of CDS. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. David M. Nylen was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less.
- Theft from Residence – On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 4:35 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the 800 block of Buena Vista Road in Forked River, for a possible theft. The complainant reported that between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on April 4, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered the residence and stole medication from his bedroom. No other items were reported stolen from the residence and there were no signs of forced entry. The theft is estimated at $50. The incident remains under investigation.
- DUI with Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 3:17 a.m., Officers John McKee and Robert Duffy responded to Bobwhite Court in Forked River, for a report of a motor vehicle that struck a tree. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 19-year-old Dalton L. Anderson of Bobwhite Court in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Dalton L. Anderson was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 11:53 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 9 North and First Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Nicholas A. Marino of Birch Street in Bayville, NJ, on several outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Ocean Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500, and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500. Warrant number three (3) was issued by the Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500, and warrant number four (4) was issued by the Ocean Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $2,000. Nicholas Marino was transported to police headquarters and processed. He posted bail on all four warrants and was released. In addition, Nicholas A. Marino received traffic summonses for Driving with a Suspended License and a Cell Phone violation.
- Drug Distribution Arrest – On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Lacey Township Police Detectives observed a suspicious transaction near the intersection of Holmes Avenue and Chelsea Street in Forked River. During the transaction, an unknown male was observed taking an object from the trunk of an unregistered vehicle parked on the property of a Holmes Avenue residence and handing it to the driver of a passing vehicle. The male then entered a third vehicle and sat in the passenger seat. Lacey Detectives stopped the third vehicle driven by 19-year-old Anna Mooney of Holmes Avenue in Forked River. During the traffic stop, the male was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile from Forked River. A search of Anna Mooney’s vehicle yielded an amount of marijuana packaged in a manner consistent with distribution. Both Anna Mooney and the 16-year-old male juvenile were arrested. The unregistered vehicle that was parked on the property of the Holmes Avenue residence was impounded and a search warrant was sought. A subsequent search of that vehicle yielded additional marijuana, scales, and packaging material. Anna Mooney and the 16-year-old male juvenile were both charged with Possession of More than 50 grams of Marijuana and Intent to Distribute More Than One Ounce of Marijuana. In addition, Anna Mooney was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law after failing to comply with detective’s commands during the investigation. Both subjects were released pending a Court appearance.

- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 10:17 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Bay Way and Maple Road in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 53-year-old Gorden Rodmell of Windward Drive in Barnegat, NJ, on an outstanding Hamilton Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $300. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Gorden Rodmell was released after posting bail. In addition, he received a traffic summons for Driving with a Suspended License.
- Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, March 30, 2017, at 1:43 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Wendy’s, located at 301 Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Filberto Sacramento of Pheasant Drive in Bayville, NJ, for Possession of Oxycodone, Clonazepam and Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Filberto Sacramento was released after receiving a criminal summons. In addition, he received a traffic summons for CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
- DUI Arrest – On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 12:11 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Palm Beach Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 49-year-old Thomas J. Brannick of Beach Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Thomas J. Brannick was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 9:26 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 1400 block of Bullard Avenue in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim stated that just prior to contacting this agency, a vehicle stopped in front of his residence and several males exited. The males threw several eggs at his truck and house. When the victim exited his residence to confront the males, they got into the vehicle and left. No damage was evident at the time of the call.
- Drug Arrest – On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 9:04 a.m., Officer Michael Hein conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of 336 Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 22-year-old Carlie M. Damiano of Pine Forest Lane in Forked River, for possession of CDS. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Carlie M. Damiano was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition she received traffic summonses for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Obstructed Windshield.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Monday, March 27, 2017, at 12:37 p.m., Officers Daniel Ricciardella and Noah Schaffer responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of two shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 61-year-old Charles E. Zeno of Old Bridge Road in Maple Shade, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $27.76. In addition, 48-year-old Kimberly A. Callihan of Oxgoose Drive in Lanoka Harbor, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $32.52. They were both transported to police headquarters and processed. They were released after receiving criminal summonses for Shoplifting.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Sunday, March 26, 2017, at 8:34 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 800 block of Alpine Street in Forked River, for a report of a car burglary. The victim reported that between Thursday, March 23, 2017, and Sunday, March 26, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a DVD case, containing 48 DVDs (mostly Disney titles). The total theft is valued at $970. The incident remains under investigation.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 2:48 p.m., Officers Charles May and Frederick Anderson responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Jeremiah J. Kramer of East Main Street in Tuckerton, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $26.74. In addition, an outstanding Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1495 was located for his arrest. Jeremiah J. Kramer was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged on criminal summons with the shoplifting and turned over to the custody of the Little Egg Harbor Police Department on their warrant.
- DUI Arrest – On Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 1:08 a.m., Officer John McKee conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Brandywine Avenue and Continental Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile from Forked River for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. The juvenile was released to a parent after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane and Provisional Driver Violation (Time). In addition, the juvenile was charged on a Juvenile Complaint with Underage Consumption of Alcohol on Private Property. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Drug Arrest – On Friday, March 24, 2017, at 9:45 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Shepard Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 21-year-old Justin W. Carris of David Street in Vineland, NJ, for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Justin W. Carris was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Maintenance of Lamps.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, March 24, 2017, at 4:51 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Lee R. Collins of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $73.82. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Lee R. Collins was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
