Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 20th, 2017 through October 26th, 2017

 

 

 

  • DUI Arrest – On Thursday, October 26, 2017, 7:23 p.m., Officers Martin Julian and Patrick Watkins responded to the WaWa, 701 Route 9 North for a report of a female passed out in her vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Jaymee Tice-Britton of Enterprise Drive, Forked River, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 1:22 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the 1400 block of Foch Avenue in Forked River for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that between 11:00 p.m. on October 24, 2017 and 8:30 a.m. on October 25, 2017 unknown persons(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and stole several items. The stolen items included cash, a pack of Pall Mall cigarettes, a cigarette case, and three cigarette lighters with a total value of $27. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the theft.
  • Fraud (Arrest) – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, the Lacey Township Police Department Detective bureau charged two Berkeley Township residents as a result of a two-month long investigation into prescription fraud. Detective Kymberly Gudgeon recovered numerous fraudulent prescription blanks from several pharmacies throughout Ocean County. In each case, it appeared that the prescriptions were obtained from different doctors and then altered to obtain Adderall, a Schedule II amphetamine. Investigation led to the arrest of 35-year-old Christopher A. Foster of Bayville, NJ, for Obtaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance by Fraud and Conspiracy, as well as the arrest of 43-year-old Brian Zartarian of Browning Avenue, Bayville, NJ for Conspiracy. Detectives are searching for a third person involved and will be will be seeking additional indictments against Christopher Foster for each offense committed in other jurisdictions.
  • Burglary & Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 5:37 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters for a report of theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that between 8:30 p.m. on October 23, 2017 and 7:50 a.m. on October 24, 2017 some person or persons entered her vehicle and stole $400 in cash and a $10 check that were in her purse. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in her driveway, located on the 1700 block of Parkside Drive in Forked River, at the time of the incident.
  • Burglary & Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 3:24 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters for a report of theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that between 5:30 p.m. on October 23, 2017 and 7:30 a.m. on October 24, 2017, some person or persons entered his vehicle and stole several items. The stolen items included a leather wallet containing $20 in cash, a debit card, and a NJ Driver’s License. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of his residence, located on the 200 block of William Street in Forked River, at the time of the incident.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 2:04 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was at the Lacey Township Municipal Court when he observed 35-year-old Christopher A. Foster of Frederick Drive in Bayville, NJ, enter the court room. Officer Sarno was aware that Christopher Foster had several outstanding arrest warrants. Officer Sarno confirmed the warrants and then placed Christopher Foster under arrest on the authority of two Lacey Township Municipal Court warrants with a total bail amount of $1000.00, as well as a no bail Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant. The no bail warrant was issued for criminal attempt and criminal conspiracy. The other two warrants were initially issued for shoplifting ($500) and driving while suspended ($500). Christopher Foster was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
  • Burglary & Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 1:02 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1600 block of Evans Road in Forked River for a report of a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that between 8:00 p.m. on October 23, 2017 and 9:30 a.m. on October 24, 2017, some person or persons entered her vehicle and stole $3 in loose change and four $1 bills from the center console. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the incident.
  • Burglary & Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 9:33 a.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the 1500 block of Whitcomb Road in Forked River for a report of a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that between 9:45 p.m. on October 23, 2017 and 8:30 a.m. on October 24, 2017, some person or persons entered her vehicle and stole items from the center console. The stolen property included five blank checks and fifteen prescription pills with a total value of $10.
  • Theft – On Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 9:07 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 800 block of Buena Vista Road in Forked River for a report of theft. The victim reported that between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on October 20, 2017 and 11:30 p.m. on October 20, 2017, unknown person(s) stole his NJ ID card from his bedroom dresser. The total value of the stolen property is $25.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 9:04 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler observed the driver of a 2008 Mercedes Benz failing to maintain his lane of travel. Officer Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Route 9 near Game Farm Road. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 38-year old Jason S. Kent of Bunnell Street in Lanoka Harbor, on two outstanding traffic warrants. The Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant was for driving while suspended in the amount of $500 and the Barnegat Township Municipal Court warrant was for driving while suspended in the amount of $500. Jason Kent was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. Jason Kent was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Suspended and Failure to Maintain Lane.
  • Burglary & Theft (Auto) – On Friday, October 20, 2017, at 4:27 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the 1500 block of Arient Road in Forked River for a report of theft. The victim reported that sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 and 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017, unknown person(s) stole a 6’ aluminum step ladder and a shop vacuum from the bed of his pickup truck. The truck was parked in the street in front of his residence during the time of the incident. The total amount of the theft is estimated at $400.
  • Drug Arrest (Heroin) (September 29th) – On Friday, September 29, 2017, at 2:30 p.m., Lacey Township Detectives made two arrests while conducting surveillance of a residence on Lake Barnegat Drive, Forked River, NJ. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Kevin Alvarez of Kingston Court, Lakewood, NJ and 34-year-old Lee Collins of Lake Barnegat Drive North, Forked River. Alvarez was charged with distribution and possession of controlled dangerous substance (Heroin). He also had an outstanding child support warrant out of Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Collins was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Heroin) along with two outstanding warrants out of Lacey Township and Robbinsville NJ. The Lacey warrant was for shoplifting in the amount of $500. The Robbinsville warrant was for failure to make lawful disposition of a controlled dangerous substance in the amount of $1,058.99. Both subjects were lodged in Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.

  • Theft (Bicycle) – On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 6:55 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to Headquarters for a report of a stolen bicycle. The parent reported that his daughter’s turquoise “Kent” beach cruiser-style bicycle was taken from his front yard on Beverly Road in Forked River between Thursday, October 12, and Sunday, October 15, 2017. The bicycle is valued at $89.99.
  • Theft (Trailer Hitch) – On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 10:39 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to Headquarters for a report of a stolen trailer hitch. The victim reported that between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, and Tuesday morning, the hitch was taken from his vehicle parked in his driveway on Horner Lane in Forked River. The trailer hitch is valued at $299.
  • Theft (Catalytic Converters) – On Monday, October 16, 2017, at 3:48 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Christopher’s Auto Sales, Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of theft of auto parts. The caller reported that two vehicles, parked in the back along the fence, were missing catalytic converters. The damage caused on the first vehicle by removal of the catalytic converter is estimated at $700; the damage to the second vehicle is estimated at $300.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 6:10 p.m., Officers Julie Barcalow and Michael Verwey conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road in Forked River for an erratic driver. The driver, 41-year-old Michael C. Bruch, Estates Boulevard, Hamilton, NJ, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters processed and released on three  motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 3:25 p.m., Officers John Simonson and Daniel Ricciardella responded to the Home Depot, Route 9, Forked River, for a possible intoxicated driver. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 62-year-old Danny T. Backhaus, Kent Drive, Forked River. He was transported to police headquarters processed and released on two motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving.  The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Drug & Warrant Arrests – On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 1:52 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol near the Wawa located near Laurel Boulevard, 701 Route 9 North, when he observed a vehicle leave the parking lot without its rear taillights illuminated. The vehicle was stopped on South Street and Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 37-year-old Dustin D. Biondo, Birch Street, Bayville, on an outstanding warrant out of Toms River Municipal Court for resisting arrest in the bail amount of $250. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Dustin D. Biondo received motor vehicle summonses for Maintenance of Lamps, Open Container of Alcohol, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Exhibit Registration, and Failure to Exhibit Driver’s License. A passenger, 27-year-old Joshua B. Rossi, Beach Boulevard, Forked River, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $533. Joshua Rossi was found to be in possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to police headquarters and processed on a warrant. He received a motor vehicle summons for Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Joshua Rossi was later transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing. Another passenger, 28-year-old Caitlin E. Sheeran, Walnut Drive, Lanoka Harbor, was given motor vehicle summons for Failure to wear Seat Belt and charged on a summons for possession of Marijuana under 50 grams.
  • Counterfeiting – On Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 8:12 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the Wawa, Lacey Road, Forked River, for a report of a transaction where counterfeit bills were used to purchase gift cards. The Wawa employee reported that $200 in counterfeit money was passed while she was working. The suspects purchased two separate gift cards in the amount of $100 each using counterfeit $20 dollar bills mixed in with real bills. Surveillance video captured the transaction and is currently under investigation.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 8:05 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop on Beach Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 27-year-old Gary A. Bridges, Beach Boulevard, Forked River, for Driving while Intoxicated.   Gary A. Bridges was transported to police headquarters processed and released on five motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Reckless, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container, and CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 6:37 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lake Barnegat Drive North and Steuben Avenue, Forked River, for failure to maintain lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 62-year-old Jose L. Miranda, Chelsea Street, Forked River for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters processed and released on three motor vehicle summonses for Driving while Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.   The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11:48 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota and Sergeant Michael Eden responded to Walmart, Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for an intoxicated person attempting to drive her vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 59-year-old Diane S. Burgoyne, Overview Court, Bayville, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters processed and released on three motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Open Container in Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • CDS Arrest (Heroin) – On Friday, October 13, 2017, at 4:33 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to Tampa Road and Clubhouse Drive for a report of a male sleeping in the driver seat with the vehicle running. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 40-year-old Andrew Plenge of Jennifer Lane, Manahawkin, NJ, for Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to police headquarters and processed on a criminal warrant for possession of Heroin. Andrew Plenge also received a motor vehicle summons for possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. He was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
  • Theft (Roofing Materials) – On Friday, October 13, 2017, at 10:19 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 300 block of Route 9 South in Forked River for a report of theft. The victim reported that sometime between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, and Friday, October 13, 2017, someone took a roll of Versa-Guard Brand, 10’W x50’L, rubber adhesive roof that was on the side of the building. The rubber roofing is valued at $510.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 4th, 2017 through October 12th, 2017

 

 

 

  • MVA (Injury) – On October 11, 2017, at 9:57 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Department responded to Route 539 in the area of milepost 17 for an overturned dump truck. The single vehicle crash involved a fully loaded 2002 Mack Truck dump truck that left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and overturned. The truck had been traveling north near milepost 17 when the driver lost control. The truck crossed the southbound lanes and left the roadway, striking several trees and a utility pole. The truck overturned and the contents of the truck spilled onto the roadway, rendering the roadway impassable. The utility pole was snapped in two and the wires were lying across the roadway. Preliminary investigation revealed the truck may have experienced a front tire blow out as it was traveling through the curved, downhill portion of the roadway, which likely was a significant factor in the crash. Route 539 was closed in both directions from Route 72 in Barnegat to Harry Wright Blvd. in Manchester for approximately 6 hours. The sole occupant of the dump truck, Eric Rice, 51, Lakewood, was extricated and transported to Community Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The truck is owned by Atlantic Industries LLC, of Cranbury, New Jersey. The Berkeley Township HAZMAT Team responded to the scene as a result of a diesel fuel leak from the heavily damaged Mack Dump Truck.  Lacey Township Police Officer Evan Androcy is the investigating officer. The Forked River Fire Department, Bamber Lakes Fire Department, Forked River and Bamber Lakes First Aid Squads, MONOC Paramedics, Berkeley Township HAZMAT Team, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, and Ocean County Road Department assisted at the scene.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 2:58 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey was on patrol when he observed a vehicle improperly parked in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, 403 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. The driver of the vehicle was also slumped over into the passenger seat of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the driver, 42-year-old Stephanie A. Lyons of Beachwood Boulevard in Beachwood, NJ was placed under arrest for Driving under the Influence as well as for possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances. Stephanie Lyons was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of CDS, and Possession of Prescription Legend Drug. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Disorderly Conduct – On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 10:22 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the Captain’s Inn, 304 East Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a fight in progress. The management reported that an unwanted guest, who had caused a disturbance earlier in the evening, returned to the wedding reception and caused a physical altercation after refusing to leave. Investigation at the scene led to 62-year-old David T. Tenney of Centerville Road in Newville, Pennsylvania being charged with Disorderly Conduct. David Tenney was issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for Disorderly Conduct and released at the scene.
  • Vehicle Burglary – On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 8:58 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to Caffrey’s, 440 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. The complainant reported that between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 unknown person(s) entered his vehicle and stole several items. The vehicle was unlocked and parked behind the dumpster in the parking lot of the restaurant during the time of the incident. The complainant reported that $2.50 in change, some Marlboro Menthol 100 cigarettes, a screwdriver with an orange handle, a pair of pliers, and a TomTom GPS were stolen. The total value of the stolen property is $88.50.
  • Trespassing – On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 7:43 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a vehicle trespassing on the power lines on the south side of Lacey Road near the entrance/exit of the Garden State Parkway. Officer Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop of the 1991 Jeep Wrangler on Lacey Road near Spaulding Avenue. Investigation at the scene led to 41-year-old Leeann Pesini and 50-year-old Anthony Pesini, both of Lacey Road in Forked River, being charged with Trespassing and released on a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for trespassing.
  • Warrant/Drug Arrest – On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 6:49 a.m., Officer Michael Hein was on patrol when he observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop before making a right turn on red at the traffic signal located at the intersection of Lacey Road and Route 9. Officer Hein conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Route 9 South near the intersection of Oak Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Dana M. Demaio of Lincoln Avenue in Ridgefield, NJ on an active Elmwood Park Municipal Court traffic warrant for unregistered vehicle in the bail amount of $89. Dana Demaio was also found to be in possession of prescription medication for which she did not have a valid prescription. Dana Demaio was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was released on her own recognizance by Elmwood Park Municipal Court on the warrant. Dana Demaio was also charged with Possession of CDS, Failure to Stop before a Right on Red, and CDS in a Motor Vehicle and released on a criminal summons.
  • CDS Arrest – On Friday, October 6, 2017, at 11:15 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was traveling north on Route 9 in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township when he heard the horn of the vehicle in front of him activating constantly. Officer Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop of the gray 2009 Honda Civic on Route 9 North near the intersection of Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor. The driver indicated that the car alarm was malfunctioning causing the horn of the vehicle to repeatedly activate. While speaking with the driver, 41-year-old Christopher C. Wade of East Kennedy Boulevard in Lakewood, NJ, Officer Keefe detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Upon further investigation Christopher Wade was arrested for possession of Marijuana. Christopher Wade was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on a criminal summons for Possession of 50 grams or Less of Marijuana, Failure to Maintain Horn in Proper Working Order, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 6, 2017, at 10:49 p.m., 30-year-old David P. Hynes, Jr. of Grand Central Parkway in Bayville, NJ posted bail on an active Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant for Driving While Suspended in the bail amount of $750. David Hynes was processed and released after posting bail. Officer Michael Baldasari was the arresting officer.
  • Theft – On Friday, October 6, 2017, at 6:26 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to police headquarters for a report of theft. The victim reported that between September 22, 2017 and October 3, 2017 unknown person(s) entered her Forked River home and stole jewelry. The jewelry was located in a jewelry box in the kitchen of the residence. The stolen items were described as a gold necklace with a “NICOLE” nameplate valued at $400 and a gold and silver “XO” bracelet valued at $200. No signs of forced entry could be located.
  • DUI Arrest – On Friday, October 6, 2017, at 1:04 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari was on patrol when he observed a vehicle fail to obey a traffic signal at the intersection of Taylor Lane and Route 9. Officer Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle in the parking lot of the Bay Harbour Motor Lodge, 419 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 44-year-old Michael A. Nazare of Standford Court West in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. Michael Nazare was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Observe a Traffic Signal. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 8:43 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Arient Road in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River in reference to serving an arrest warrant on 31-year-old Matthew C. Clinton. Officer Sarno located Matthew Clinton and placed him under arrest on an outstanding North Hanover Township Municipal Court Traffic Warrant for Driving While Suspended in the bail amount of $500. Matthew Clinton was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – September 28th, 2017 through October 3rd, 2017

  • Theft from Residence – On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 4:33 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to Police Headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that in the end of September 2017, she noticed property belonging to her was missing from her residence. The stolen items include a rare coin collection, rare 1930s-era 10-dollar bills, and a gold heart charm with an estimated total value of $300. There were no signs of forced entry. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Monday, October 2, 2017, at 5:05 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 500 block of Baldwin Street in Forked River for a report of damage to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between September 29th, 2017 and October 2nd, 2017, an unknown person or persons keyed two vehicles that were parked in the street in front of their residence. The damage to both vehicles is estimated at $500 each.
  • Fire – On Monday, October 2, 2017, at 3:12 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 100 block of Caldwell Avenue in Forked River for a report of a fire coming from the rear of the residence. The Forked River Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. A cigarette in a flower pot was deemed to be the cause of the fire.
  • Criminal Mischief (Business) – On Monday, October 2, 2017, at 8:22 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 600 block of Challenger Way in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st, 2017, and 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2nd, 2017, an unknown person or persons damaged two deadbolt locks. The damage is estimated at $120.
  • Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Crash, Warrant Arrest (Multiple) and Obstructing – On Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 7:32 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Laurel Boulevard and Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor. One of the drivers, identified as 22-year-old Cole A. Gonnella, of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, left the scene on foot and entered a nearby residence. The investigation led to the arrest of Cole A. Gonnella on three (3) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Stafford Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $1500, warrant number two (2) was issued from the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500, and warrant number three (3) was issued from the Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $858. Cole A. Gonnella was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Driving with a Suspended License, Careless Driving, Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash, Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Crash, and Failure to Exhibit Documents. He was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
  • DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, October 1, 2017, at 5:50 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Andrew Slota responded to the Captain’s Inn, located at 304 E. Lacey Road in Forked River, for a disturbance outside. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 57-year-old Jeffrey J. Nadler of Marquis Street in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Jeffrey J. Nadler was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Provide Breath Samples, and Reckless Driving.
  • Vehicle Fire and Trespassing – On Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 10:55 p.m., Officers Julie Barcalow and Scott Keefe responded to Lacey Materials, located at 5001 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a vehicle on fire. The driver of the vehicle, 56-year-old Gregory E. Doscher, of Beverly Drive in Barnegat, NJ, reported that he was driving his vehicle on Lacey Materials property when he noticed his vehicle was on fire. The Forked River Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze. Gregory E. Doscher was issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for Trespassing on Private Property.
  • Eluding Police and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun – On Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 8:21 p.m., Officer Jason Lee was patrolling Lakeside Drive South and Bullard Avenue in Forked River when he observed a suspicious quad (ATV) stopped in the roadway. The operator was not wearing a helmet, nor did he have any lights. Officer Lee attempted to contact the operator. The quad then accelerated at a high rate of speed toward Bullard Avenue and after a brief pursuit, stopped on Olds Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 32-year-old William C. Edwards, of William Street in Forked River for Eluding. He was also found to be in possession of a handgun, which he had in his waistband. Sergeant Robert Surtees, along with Officers Julie Barcalow and Scott Keefe arrived on scene to assist. William C. Edwards was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was charged on a Criminal Warrant with Eluding and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Lamps Required, Helmet Required, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Improper Passing. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing. The Quad was impounded.
  • Shoplifting – On Friday, September 29, 2017, at 5:02 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Julie Barcalow responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter who fled the store. A short time later the shoplifter was located near Spring Oak Assisted Living, which is directly across the street from Walmart. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Alyssa M. Hickey, of 5th Avenue in Toms River, New Jersey, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $73.38. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Alyssa M. Hickey was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 29, 2017, at 7:21 a.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the Walmart parking lot, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a male possibly needed medical attention. Officer Simonson met with 40-year-old Michael J. Gannon of Phelps Avenue in Bayville, NJ. He was found to have an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the amount of $38,896. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Michael J. Gannon was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 6:17 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 1300 block of Foch Avenue in Forked River for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The owner reported that between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on September 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole two gold rings valued at $100.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 1:10 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Police Headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between September 14, 2017 and September 15, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his vehicle and stole $1000 cash from a bank envelope located in the glove compartment of his work truck. The victim could not give an exact location where the theft occurred.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 10:38 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 400 block of Route 9 South in Forked River for a report of damage. The complainant reported that during the overnight hours of September 19th into September 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons slashed a tire on their vehicle. The cost to replace the tire is estimated at $150.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 8:23 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 500 block of Holmes Avenue in Forked River, for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The owner reported that between 4:00 p.m. on September 19, 2017 and 8:00 a.m. on September 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered their unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole a purse with a total value $50.
  • Burglary (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 7:27 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the 1200 block of Bullard Avenue in Forked River, for a report of a burglary to a vehicle. The owner reported that between 9:00 p.m. on September 19, 2017 and 6:45 a.m. on September 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street in front of his residence and rummaged through it. At the time of the report, it did not appear that anything was taken from within.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 6:56 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the 1200 block of Bullard Avenue in Forked River, for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The owner reported that between 9:00 p.m. on September 19, 2017 and 6:45 a.m. on September 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street in front of the residence and stole a bottle of vitamins valued at $20.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 5:15 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Taylor Lane and Ocean Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a passenger, identified as 24-year-old Michael S. Salese, Jr., from Ocean Street in Forked River, on an outstanding Holmdel Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500.   He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Michael S. Salese Jr., was released after posting his bail.
  • Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Monday, September 18, 2017, at 8:39 p.m., Officer Elton copes observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Clune Park, located at 740 Sandyhook Drive in Forked River. Officer Copes conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Justin N. Devito of Home Avenue in Trenton, NJ, on several outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Howell Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $339, warrant number two (2) was issued from the Raritan Municipal Court in the bail amount of $550, warrant number three (3) was issued from the Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $350 , warrant number four (4) was issued from the Hamilton Municipal Court in the bail amount of $400 and warrant number five (5) was issued from the Trenton Municipal Court in the bail amount of $200. Justin Devito was transported to Police Headquarters and Processed. He was later turned over to the custody of Berkeley Township Police.
  • Underage Possession of Alcohol –On Sunday, September 17, 2017, at 3:35 a.m., Officers John McKee and Robert Duffy responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of three possibly intoxicated males who were causing a disturbance in the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Michael S. Tencer from Spray Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, 18-year-old Anthony C. Landi from Breton Harbor Drive in Toms River, NJ, and 19-year-old Christian T. Camaraza from Nautilus Street in Beachwood, NJ, for Possession of Alcoholic Beverages by Persons under Legal Age to Consume. All three were issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons at the scene and released. In addition, Michael S. Tencer received a traffic summons for Careless Driving.
  • Burglary (Auto) – On Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 6:10 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the 1500 block of Arient Road in Forked River, to take a theft report. The victim reported that between 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle parked at the residence and rummaged through it. At the time of the report, it did not appear anything was taken.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 3:08 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to Police Headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway of his residence on Moosehead Street in Forked River and stole his wallet containing various documents, cash, and a gift card. The total amount of the theft is estimated at $250.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 7:19 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 1500 block of Claire Road in Forked River, for a theft report. The victim reported that between the hours of 10:00 p.m. on Friday and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked at the residence and stole approximately $4.00 in cash and change and a five dollar scratch-off lottery ticket. The total value of the theft is estimated at $9.00.
  • DUI and Drug Arrest – On Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 2:27 a.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Martin Julian responded to the area of Lacey Road and Holmes Avenue in Forked River, for a possible intoxicated driver. A description of the vehicle was provided. A short time later the officers located the vehicle near Alpine Street and Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Shawn R. Soden of Ravine Drive in Forked River, for DUI. In addition, he was found to be in possession of CDS.   Shawn Soden was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. In addition, Shawn Soden received a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia– On Friday, September 15, 2017, at 4:41 p.m., Officers Brian Holt, Jesse Dalziel and Adam Ewart responded to the Home Depot, located at 244 Route 9 N in Forked River for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival the officers determined the fight was no longer in progress, however they did observe a male matching the description of one of the people involved. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 33-year-old Joseph A. Lacombe of Halsey Avenue in Bayville, NJ, for Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Joseph A. Lacombe was released after receiving a criminal summons for Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Warrant Arrest (multiple) – On Friday, September 15, 2017, at 12:04 p.m., Detective Sam Della Sala conducted a traffic stop on Western Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in an act of criminal mischief that occurred prior at the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Officer Dimitri Tsarnas arrived to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 35-year-old Charee M. Cromartie of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, on two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the bail amount $400 and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Brick Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $250. Charee M. Cromartie was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. She was released on her own recognizance by both the Toms River and Brick Township Municipal Courts.
  • DUI Arrest – On Friday, September 15, 2017, at 2:43 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop on Beach Boulevard and Bermuda Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Christopher J. Firstmeyer from Pensicola Road in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Christopher J. Firstmeyer was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
