Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 24th, 2017 through November 30th, 2017
- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 9:38 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel observing traffic in the area of Lake Barnegat Drive and Alpine Street when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the vehicle registration was suspended. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old, Jennifer Modestino of Williams Avenue, Forked River on an outstanding warrant for shoplifting out of the Lacey Township Municipal Court for $500. Jennifer was released after posting bail on the warrant. She also received traffic summonses for driving while suspended and uninsured motorist.
- Theft (Bicycle) – On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 11:08 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Drive, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a bicycle theft from a residence. Video surveillance captured a male in dark clothing with long hair remove the bicycle from the property at around 9:00 p.m. that night. The mountain bike is valued at approximately $200.
- Fire (Residence) – On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 1:54 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 1200 block of Andover Road for a report of smoke inside a residence. The Forked River Fire Department was on scene and inspecting the residence. The fire department revealed the source of the smoke was a malfunctioning wood stove in the basement. No damage was reported.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 8:35 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the area of Buena Vista Road in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim stated that on November 24, 2017, the victim’s husband noticed a hissing sound coming from one of the tires on his vehicle. It appeared that the tire had been slashed from the inside and done intentionally. The damage to the tire is valued at $150.
- Burglary (Auto) – On Monday, November 27, 2017, at 8:52 a.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the 1900 block of Whitcomb Road, Forked River, to take a report of burglary/theft from a vehicle. The caller stated he noticed a pair of wire cutters on the ground next to the compartment where the vehicle’s batteries were stored. He believes the incident occurred between November 26-27, 2017 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 8:20 a.m. The stolen batteries were valued at $300.
- DUI (Motor Vehicle Accident) – On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 1:37 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to 107 Route 9 North in Forked River for a motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Glenn H. Heins, Lawrence Avenue, Manchester, NJ, for Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters and processed and released on two motor vehicle summonses, Driving while Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary (Autos) – On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 11:28 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 1200 block of Sylvania Place, Forked River, for a report of theft from two unlocked vehicles that were parked in the driveway of the residence. The victims reported that sometime overnight, loose change was taken from both vehicles totaling approximately $15.00.
- Burglary (Auto) – On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 7:51 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 1220 block of Kennebec Road, Forked River, for a report of an unlocked vehicle that was parked in his driveway that was ransacked during the overnight hours. The victim reported that nothing appeared to have been taken.
- DUI Arrest – On Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 10:11 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Manchester Avenue and Grove Street in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 27-year-old Kathryn Lundy, Deneca Lake Drive, Little Egg Harbor, for DUI. Kathryn Lundy was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless, Speeding, and Failure to Change Address. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Trespassing – On Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 9:24 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Anthony Sarno responded to the area of Sandyhook Drive and Clune Park, Forked River, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle exited and walked into the woods. Investigation at the scene found 19-year-old Randy L. Ruutikainen, of Buermann Avenue, Toms River, NJ, 21-year-old Matthew J. Walker, of Oakwood Drive, Forked River, 19-year-old, Shaun Keenan, of Oakwood Drive, Forked River and a 13-year-old juvenile male sitting near a contained bond fire. The fire was extinguished without incident by the Forked River Fire Department. The three adults were each issued a special form of complaint for trespassing; the juvenile’s parent was notified.
- Fire (Brush) – On Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 5:54 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to Lacey Auto Care on Lacey Road in Forked River for a report of a brush fire behind the building. A fence, in the rear of the building along with the brush was engulfed in flames. After Officer Dalziel extinguished the fire, the Forked River Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the embers. The cause of the fire is unknown but determined by the fire chief not to be suspicious. Damage to the fence is estimated at $100.
- Gas Leak (Residence) – On Friday, November 24, 2017, at 12:59 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Island View Drive, Forked River, for a report of a gas leak. Investigation at the scene by the Forked River Fire Department determined that the gas meter was leaking. New Jersey Natural Gas was contacted and repaired the leak.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 17th, 2017 through November 23rd, 2017
- Warrant Arrest/CDS Possession (Heroin) – On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 7:09 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Haines Street for failure to stop. Officer Anthony Sarno arrived and assisted with the stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 52-year-old Douglas G. Kern, of Norwood Street, Forked River, on four outstanding warrants. The first two warrants were out of Lacey Township Municipal Court for municipal ordinance offenses (134-5/265-9) in the amount of $250 & $500. The third warrant was out of Long Beach Township Municipal Court for a municipal ordinance offense (135-6) and the fourth warrant was for a non-support warrant out of Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $11,261.42. A search incident to arrest found Douglas Kern possessing several wax folds believed to be Heroin. Douglas was processed and charged on a criminal summons for possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of his bail for all of the outstanding warrants.
- DUI Arrest – On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 4:56 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey was on patrol near Beach Boulevard and Bermuda Drive, when he observed the vehicle in front of him failing to maintain its lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 39-year-old Christian Minetti, Harley Boulevard, Bayville, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters processed and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary/Criminal Mischief/Theft (Building) – On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 10:22 p.m. Officer Martin Julian was dispatched the area of Taylor Lane for a report of a burglary and theft from a building. Investigation of the scene showed that unknown persons(s) forced entry through a side window of the building and pushed in the garage door panels in order to remove a 2005 Silver Honda Elite (NJ Reg 2GDH7) motorcycle. The value of the stolen motorcycle is approximately $1,000. The damage to the building was approximately $250. The vehicle was entered as stolen into National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 6:51 p.m. Officer Patrick Watkins processed 31-year-old Stephen L. Carrington, Jr., of Tampa Road, Forked River, at police headquarters on two outstanding traffic warrants. The first warrant was for a cell phone violation out of Hillsborough Township Municipal Court in the amount of $300 and the second warrant was for an inspection violation out of Ocean Township Municipal Court in the amount of $165. Stephen Carrington, Jr., was released after posting bail on both of the traffic warrants.
- Drug Arrest (Heroin) – On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 8:40 p.m., Lacey Township Police Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop in connection with an ongoing drug investigation. The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Matthew Clinton, Arient Road, Forked River and his passenger, 25-year-old Jamie Okane of Carriage Way, Forked River were suspected of transporting heroin. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Jaime Okane for an outstanding traffic warrant out Freehold Township Municipal Court in the amount of $120. While arresting Okane, Clinton was placed under arrest as he attempted to discard drug paraphernalia. A search incident to Okane’s arrest led to the discovery of 95 bags containing heroin. Both Clinton and Okane were charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Clinton was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Suspended and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle. They were both processed and released on criminal summonses.
- Fire (Vehicle) – On Monday, November 20, 2017, at 4:14 p.m., Officers Andrew Slota and Elton Copes responded to the area of West Lacey Road, east of Factory Branch, for a report of a vehicle fire. A blue Honda Fit was parked facing westbound on Lacey Road and the fire appeared to be underneath the front of the vehicle. Officer Slota attempted to put the fire out before the Forked River Fire Department arrived to extinguish the fire. The operator of the vehicle stated he had been working on the vehicle and decided to take it for a test ride when a passerby advised him the vehicle was on fire. No injuries were reported from the fire.
- Theft (Residence) – On Monday, November 20, 2017, at 3:24 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the area of Eton Court in Lanoka Harbor. The homeowner reported that while he was away on vacation during the week of November 12th-20th, 2017 unknown person(s) stole two Central Air Conditioning Compressor Units valued at $1500 each. The incident is under investigation.
- Criminal Mischief (Building) – On Monday, November 20, 2017, at 1:28 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to 512 Route 9 South, Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief to a building. The building in question was being rented by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for their yearly Christmas Toy Drive. A window was shattered at the northwest corner of the building sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the 20th by a grapefruit size piece of concrete. Nothing appeared to have been taken. The damage to the window is estimated at $300.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, November 19, 2017, at 9:43 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel was observing traffic in the area of Lakeside Drive and Vaughn Avenue when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation (19:9-1.24) out of Elizabeth Township Municipal Court for $110. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Corey M. Acken, Parker’s Point Boulevard, Forked River, was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released after posting bail. He also received two traffic summonses for Unregistered Vehicle and Suspended Driver License.
- Burglary/Theft (Auto) – On Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 10:56 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to police headquarters to take a burglary/theft report. The victim reported that sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., on November 18, 2017, unknown person(s) entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the Lacey Shop Rite parking lot.The victim reported that his cell phone was stolen out of the center console. The cell phone is valued at $50.
- Theft – On Friday, November 17, 2017, at 7:18 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The victim reported that while on a NJ Transit bus riding from Bayville to Lacey, she believes someone removed her prescription bottle from her purse containing 28 Xanax. The theft of the prescription is valued at $10.
- Criminal Mischief (Business) – On Friday, November 17, 2017, at 4:26 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to Sarasota Drive, Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief. The caller reported that his business mailbox, located at Old Shore Road in the Lacey Industrial Park, was damaged sometime during the day on November 17, 2017. The damage estimate is unknown at this time.
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, November 17, 2017, at 2:18 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler was observing traffic in the area of Route 9 and Bay Way, in Lanoka Harbor when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Glenn E. Bevelheimer of Bay Way, Lanoka Harbor, was found to have a suspended driver license and two active warrants. The first warrant was for driving while suspended out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500 and the second warrant was for driving while suspended out of Galloway Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750. He was arrested and processed at police headquarters processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional facility in lieu of his bail.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 10th, 2017 through November 16th, 2017
- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 2:34 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella arrested 47-year-old Nancy Boutilette of Cedar Drive, Lanoka Harbor, NJ on an outstanding Lacey Township municipal warrant for owner responsible for control of dogs (134-2A) in the amount of $400. She was unable to post and transported to Ocean County Correctional facility in lieu of bail.
- Warrant Arrests – On Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 12:57 a.m., Officer Jason Lee was observing traffic when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of two occupants in the vehicle. The two subjects arrested were 26-year-old Michael Colon Jr of Lexington Boulevard, Barnegat, NJ on an outstanding Seaside Heights warrant for disorderly conduct in the amount of $300 along with the arrest of 26-year-old Rashad Stokes of Lexington Boulevard, Barnegat, NJ on an outstanding Stafford Township warrant for possession of CDS in the amount of $901. Sergeant Robert Surtees and Officer Julie Barcalow assisted at the scene. Both subjects were transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where they were processed on the warrants. Michael Colon was released after posting bail and Rashad Stokes was turned over to Stafford Township Police in lieu of bail.
- Illegal Dumping – On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 11:33 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to 820 Municipal Lane (Department of Public Works) to take a report of illegal dumping. Security cameras captured a male suspect removing a couch from a Ford pickup truck and leaving it on DPW property. The owner was contacted by the police and returned to pick up the couch. No charges were filed due to the owner removing the couch.
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters for a warrant arrest. Officer Simonson processed 45-year-old Janine Traina of Emerald Park Drive, Forked River for an outstanding Hazlet Township motor vehicle warrant for unlicensed driver in the amount of $500. Janine Traina posted bail and was released.
- Warrant Arrest – On Monday, November 13, 2017, at 11:41 a.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel and Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the 100 block of Laurel Boulevard, Lanoka Harbor to serve and outstanding criminal warrant on 36-year-old John T. Sullivan for possession of 50 grams or less of Marijuana out of Brick Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1000. John T. Sullivan was arrested and transported to police headquarters processed and released after posting bail.
- Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 9:11 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 500 block of Holmes Avenue, Forked River, NJ, for a damaged mailbox. The post holding the mailbox was snapped in half. The homeowner stated that sometime between the hours of 7:10 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, the damage occurred. It is unknown how the damage occurred.
- Trespassing – On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 3:18 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to Lacey Materials, Lacey Road, Forked River, for a report of trespassing. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on the property. The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Christopher W. Lowe, Marion Avenue, Howell, NJ, was issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for Defiant Trespass.
- Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 1:24 p.m., Officers George Resetar and Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to the Walmart, Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter in the store. The Asset Protection Associate observed the suspect taking a cellular telephone from the plastic packaging, hiding it on his person, and placing numerous items inside a plastic bag. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Craig E. Thomas, Clearwater Drive, Waretown, NJ. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and taken to the Ocean County Correctional facility to await a bail hearing. The total value of the stolen merchandise is valued at $216.
- Burglary/Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 7:07 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to Yorktown Drive, Forked River, for a residence with its front door open. It was determined that unknown person(s) removed the bolt from both the doorknobs causing damage estimated at $100. After inspecting the vacant residence, there appeared to be no other damage.
- Water Damage – On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 10:37 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to 105 Route 9 North (Community Hall) for water pouring out of the building. Investigation at the scene found that the sprinkler pipes had frozen overnight causing them to burst. The damage was estimated at $100.
- Structure Fire (Residence) – On Friday, November 10, 2017, at 11:03 p.m., Officers Elton Copes, Robert Duffy and Sergeant Ronald Buxton responded to Sunrise Boulevard, Forked River, for report of a possible structure fire. The Forked River Fire Department was on scene when the officers arrived. It appeared that the smoldering fire originated underneath the boiler and floor boards. The smoldering embers were extinguished without any damage to the existing structure from fire or smoke.
- Lost/Stolen Wallet – On Friday, November 10, 2017, at 12:39 p.m., Special Officer Matthew Decataldo responded to police headquarters to take a report of a lost/stolen wallet. The 21-year-old victim stated that he noticed his gray wallet missing when he returned home from ShopRite in Forked River. The wallet contained a Chase Visa Debit Card and his NJ Driver’s License. The total amount of the loss is estimated at $7.
- Down Wires – On Friday, November 10, 2017, at 9:53 a.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the location of Adolphus Street and Briggs Avenue in Forked River for a report of wires down. A garbage truck hit a low hanging cable wire. Comcast Cable was called and repaired the wires.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 3rd, 2017 through November 9th, 2017
- Burglary/Theft – On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 7:06 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the area of Bayberry Drive, Lanoka Harbor, on a report of a burglary and theft to the residence. The homeowner reported that sometime between November 4, 2017 and November 6, 2017 unknown person(s) entered the crawl space area under their home and cut out sections of copper. The cost of the damage is unknown at this time until the homeowner receives an estimate from a licensed plumber.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 5:33 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the area of Hemlock Lane, Forked River, on a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours of November 9, 2017, unknown person(s) shattered the rear window of his 2017 Nissan pickup truck. The estimated damage to the vehicle was $2,000.
- Drug Possession (Arrests) – On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 9:18 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling in the area of Enterprise Drive in Forked River. Officer Sarno observed suspicious activity involving two male occupants in a parked motor vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 36-year-old Robert Ellingham of Conifer Drive, Forked River, for possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sergeant Robert Surtees arrived to assist with the investigation and arrested 35-year-old Robert Prosperi, Jr., of Enterprise Drive, Forked River for possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Both were transported to police headquarters, processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- Burglary (Auto) – On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 4:14 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to police headquarters to take a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that on November 7, 2017, she was at Ignite Gymnastics, located at 702 Challenger Way in Forked River, when she returned to her vehicle and noticed items missing from the center console including her wallet containing $35, a prepaid Visa Debit Card, her NJ Driver’s License, Social Security Card, and health insurance card. The total amount of items missing is estimated at approximately $75.
- MV stop/Warrant (Arrest) – On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 8:32 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was observing traffic when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the registered owner had an expired driver’s license. The registered owner received a summons for unlicensed driver. The passenger of the vehicle, 42-year-old Calvin C. Taylor, Joe Parker Road, Lakewood, NJ, was asked if he possessed a valid driver license so that he could drive the vehicle. A check of his license revealed that he had an outstanding non-support warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office in the bail amount of $3546. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Calvin C. Taylor was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
- DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 1:15 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Manchester and Haines for an erratic driver. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Amanda Tuttle of Highland Drive, Barnegat, NJ, for Driving While Intoxicated. She was transported to police headquarters and processed and released on three motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Open Container. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, November 6, 2017, at 5:13 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the Home Depot, Route 9 N, Forked River for a report of a suspicious person. The suspect, 36-year-old Michael D. Minarik, of Water Street Barnegat, NJ, was seen by store employees concealing multiple items inside a toolbox totaling $240.59. Michael D. Minaraik was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released on a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Fraud – On Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2:18 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraudulent activity. The victim reported that her PNC Bank account had unauthorized activity on it since December of 2016. The company in question was contacted with negative results. The total amount of the fraud is estimated at over $1400. The victim will follow up with PNC Bank’s Fraud Department.
- Warrant (Arrest) –On Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 9:22 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to police headquarters to process 42-year-old Nirvana Antonio-Quinones of Beverly Road, Forked River, for an outstanding warrant in the bail amount of $1,500 out of Edison Township Municipal Court for 2C:21-5. She posted bail and was released.
- Aggressive Driving Incident (Arrest) – On Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:52 a.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel, Dimitrios Tsarnas and Special Officer Matthew DeCataldo responded to the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot, on 338 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a road rage incident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old James E. Whitley, Horner Lane, Forked River, for Aggravated Assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and terroristic threats. Whitley brandished a knife and threatened the 20-year-old male driver of the other vehicle involved. James E. Whitley was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. He was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
- Underage Possession of Alcohol – On Friday, November 3, 2017, at 8:41 p.m., Officer John McKee was on conducting a building check of the Lanoka Harbor Elementary School, 281 Manchester Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, when he noticed a suspicious vehicle with its lights off in the rear parking lot of the school. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile female for possession of Alcoholic Beverages by Persons under Legal Age. She was processed and released to her parent.
- Theft – On Friday, November 3, 2017, at 2:21 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The owner of the building reported that two thermostats were stolen from the downstairs of the Bacorp Building, 1044 Lacey Road in Forked River. The value of the two thermostats is approximately $100.00.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 27th, 2017 through November 2nd, 2017
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 4:03 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Wawa on Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of shoplifting. The Customer Service Supervisor reported that an employee observed an older white female reach over the counter and steal two packs of Marlboro Red cigarettes. The woman quickly exited the store and left in her vehicle. The employee followed the suspect and obtained the license plate number. The incident was captured on video surveillance. The incident is currently under investigation.
- DUI Arrest – On Wednesday, November 01, 2017, at 11:33 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the area of WaWa 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of an intoxicated driver in a black Jeep. Upon Officer Lee’s arrival, the vehicle had left the area. Sergeant Robert Surtees located and stopped the vehicle on Route 9 near Beach Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 53-year-old Sandra L. Robinson of Penn Place in Barnegat, NJ, for driving under the influence. Sandra Robinson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Reckless Driving. The vehicle Sandra Robinson was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting – On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the TJ Maxx, Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting that had occurred the previous day. The Loss Prevention Manager reported that at approximately 3:15 p.m. on October 31, 2017, an unknown black female entered the store, took a duffle bag off a store shelf and loaded it with merchandise. A black male accomplice then grabbed the bag and walked out of the door with the shoplifted merchandise. The incident was captured on store surveillance and is under investigation.
- Fraud – On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 11:32 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters for a report of fraud. The victim reported that she found a credit card issued to her, which she never applied for. The victim reported that she found the credit card in her house and believes that another resident of the house had opened up the credit card account in her name without her authorization. The victim subsequently obtained a credit report and found another credit card opened under her name that she did not apply for. The amount of fraudulent charges is approximately $900. The incident is under investigation.
- Drug Arrest – On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 10:29 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler was on patrol near the intersection of Route 9 and Haines Street when he observed the driver of a 2007 Saturn Aura disregard a red traffic signal. Officer Meyler conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Route 9 near Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 19-year-old Sarah J. Balo of Princeton Avenue in Bayville, NJ, for possession of marijuana. Sarah Balo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Possession of Marijuana Under Fifty Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sarah Balo was also issued traffic summonses for Failure to observe signal and possession of CDS in motor vehicle.
- Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 9:12 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 200 block of Davis Avenue in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that at approximately 9:00 p.m. on October 31, 2017 she observed several juveniles on her property destroying her brick mailbox. The juveniles had left prior to the arrival of the officer. The damage is estimated at $150.
- DUI & Drug Arrest – On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 2:13 a.m., Officer Julie Barcalow was on patrol when she observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel in the area of Lakeside Drive and Weehawkin Avenue in Forked River. Officer Barcalow conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and was assisted at the scene by Officer Anthony Sarno. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Breanna H. Krusieski of Colgate Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for Driving Under the Influence. Further investigation at the scene by Officer Anthony Sarno led to the arrest of the front seat passenger, 24-year-old Vincent Boardingham of Lakeside Drive North in Forked River, NJ for possession of Marijuana. Breanna Krusieski and Vincent Boardingham were transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters for processing. Breanna Krusieski was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Vincent Boardingham was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The vehicle Breanna Krusieski was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 12:41 a.m., Special Officer Michael Moeller was conducting a check of Gille Park, 56 Manchester Avenue in Forked River, when he observed criminal mischief in the men’s bathroom. The toilet paper dispenser was removed from the wall and the graffiti was written on the walls. The estimated cost of the damage is approximately $125. The Lacey Township Department of Public Works was notified of the damage.
- Burglary/Criminal Mischief – On Monday, October 30, 2017, at 10:06 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 500 block of Tappan Street in Forked River. The homeowner reported that between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. on October 30, 2017 some person or persons entered her son’s bedroom and ignited fireworks. As a result, the fireworks burnt the rug, bed, and a sweatshirt. The fireworks also put a hole in the ceiling. The damage to the bedroom is estimated at $900.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 8:29 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol in the area of Route 9 near Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor, when he observed a pedestrian fail to utilize the crosswalk while walking across Route 9 who did not use the crosswalk that was nearby. Officer Keefe stopped the subject and upon further investigation located an active arrest warrant for the subject, 65-year-old Carl Disalvo of Neptune Avenue in Beachwood, NJ. Carl Disalvo was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Atlantic City Municipal Court for $350. The warrant was issued for failure to make lawful disposition of CDS. Carl Disalvo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance by the authority of the Atlantic City Court Clerk.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 4:34 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for the report of a male shoplifter in custody. The Walmart Loss Protection Associate reported that he observed a male subject place 12 miscellaneous grocery items into reusable grocery bags and placed the grocery bags into a shopping cart then exited the front exit of the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 66-year-old Ronald Barca of Mallard Road in Bayville, NJ for Shoplifting. Ronald Barca was transported to lacey township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting $86.33 worth of merchandise.
- Burglary (Auto) – On Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 1300 block of Bullard Avenue in Forked River for a report of theft from a vehicle. The homeowner reported that, between 7:00 p.m. on Saturday October 28, 2017 and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017, someone entered her unlocked car and stole a Garmin GPS, $20 cash, and a lockbox key. The total amount of the theft is estimated at $350. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of her residence at the time of the incident.
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 27, 2017, at 3:02 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel was on patrol when he observed 34-year-old Joseph A. Lacombe of Halsey Avenue in Bayville, NJ, riding his bicycle on Route 9 near Sunrise Boulevard. Officer Dalziel was aware that Joseph Lacombe had an outstanding no bail arrest warrant for Receiving Stolen Property out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Officer Dalziel detained Joseph Lacombe until the warrant was confirmed. Joseph Lacombe was placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
