Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 2th, 2018 through February 8th, 2018

 

 

 

  • Residential Burglary – On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 4:02 p.m., Officer Keefe responded to the 500 block of Chelsea Street for a report of a burglary. The homeowner reported that between 7:15 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on February 6, 2018, an unknown person(s) entered the rear door of her residence, which was locked at the time; force was needed to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect stole assorted jewelry, a television, movie tickets, gift cards, and a Coach purse. The value of the stolen items is estimated at approximately $2000. This incident remains under investigating.
  • Theft of Gas – On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 9:25 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to the Wawa on Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft of gas. The female driver of the vehicle informed the gas attendant that she was not able to pay and left. A vehicle registration was obtained and attempts to locate the registered have been made. The Gasoline was valued at $7.00.
  • Theft – On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 2:44 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 500 block of Brentwood Road, Forked River, for a theft from a residence. The homeowner reported that she arrived home after taking her husband to a doctor appointment to find several pieces of jewelry missing. The theft was reported to have taken place between January 2, 2018 and February 6, 2018. The estimated amount of the jewelry is $2350.00. No forced entry was found. This incident remains under investigation.
  • DUI/Warrants- On Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11:54 p.m., Officers Lee, Watkins, and Holt responded to the Applebee’s, 404 Route 9 S, Forked River, for a disorderly male subject in the parking lot of the restaurant.   Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32 year-old Shane J. Henry, of Park Place Manchester, NJ, for DUI. Several outstanding traffic warrants from numerous jurisdictions were located in the amount of $4046.00. Shane K. Henry was arrested, processed, and transported to Ocean County Jail after failing to pay the outstanding traffic warrants. He was charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breathe testing, and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11:39 p.m., Officer Elton Copes conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Route 9. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Kristian L. Wilson of Surf Avenue, Beachwood, NJ, for an outstanding warrant out of Berkeley Township Municipal Court for $350.00. Kristian L. Wilson was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kristian L. Wilson was issued motor vehicle summonses for Unregistered Vehicle and Failure to Observe Traffic Signals. He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, February 4, 2018, 12:56 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a motor vehicle stop for failure to maintain lane on Lacey Road and Harrison Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 31-year-old Bryan I. Mancheno of Curtis Place in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. Bryan I. Mancheno was transported to police headquarters, processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Fraud – On Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:28 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant stated that approximately three weeks ago, he communicated with a woman on Facebook and they planned on meeting each other. The woman asked if he could wire $1200 to her to pay an outstanding bill and to buy airline tickets so they could meet. After the transaction was completed the woman deleted him from her Facebook and has not responded back to him.
  • Theft – On Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 12:23 p.m., Officers Andrew Slota and Scott Anderson responded to the Walmart on Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of theft. Investigation at the scene led to 22-year-old Alexus M. Porter of Atlantic City Boulevard, Bayville, NJ, being charged with the theft of $100.00 cash. Alexus M. Porter received a non-indictable summons for Theft and was released.
  • DUI Arrest with Motor Vehicle Accident – On Friday, February 2, 2018, at 5:32 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Scott Anderson responded to the intersection of Lakeside Drive North and Deerhead Lake Drive for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Nicholas B. Cicerello of Deguise Street, Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. Nicholas Cicerello was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Failure to Stop, Reckless, and Headlights Required. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting – On Friday, February 2, 2018, at 2:38 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Scott Anderson responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led o the arrest of 55-year-old Catherine L. Catananzi of Chipmunk Court, Whiting, NJ, for shoplifting $420.54 of various items. Catherine L. Catananzi was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after being charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting.

Weekly Police Blotter January 26th – February 1 st, 2018

Theft- On Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 5:09 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to Charlie Brown’s Fresh Grill, 121 Route 9, Forked River.  The manager of the restaurant reported that a patron left without satisfying the bill for approximately $25.00.  The suspect left the restaurant in a vehicle.  The incident remains under investigation.  

Shoplifting Arrest – On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 5:53 p.m., Officers Michael Hein and Julie Barcalow responded to Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a shoplifter.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 45 year old Steven S. Hawk of Hickory Lane, Bayville, NJ.  Steven S. Hawk was observed concealing Donruss Elite NFL Trading Cards, valued at $29.98, in his pants and then exited through the front door bypassing the checkout registers.  Steven S. Hawk was also found to be in possession of 17 Xanex pills.  Steven S. Hawk was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after being charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting and possession of CDS.

Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 1:36 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella conducted a motor vehicle stop on Liberty Way and Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a traffic offense.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 52-year-old Noel Gnecco of Redwood Drive, Bayville, NJ, who was found to have an active warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $10,000. Noel Gnecco was given a motor vehicle summons for Failure to Maintain Lane. She was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Jail after being unable to post bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Monday, January 29, 2018, at 8:22 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Taylor Lane in Forked River for a motor vehicle violation.  Investigation at the scene revealed that the passenger, 28-year-old Anthony P. Cipolletti of Tampa Road, Forked River, had an outstanding traffic warrant out of Berkeley Township Municipal Court for $1000.  Anthony Cipolletti was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Unable to post bail, he was transported to the Ocean County Jail.

Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 10:19 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins conducted a motor vehicle stop on Arlington Avenue and Lakeside Drive in Forked River for a motor vehicle violation.  Investigation at the scene found the driver, 25-year-old Tyler A. Anderson, Deerrun Drive North, Barnegat, to have a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding traffic warrant for his arrest out of Stafford Township Municipal Court for $139.  Tyler Anderson was arrested, processed, and released after posting bail.

Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 11:07 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road near Lane Place, Forked River, for a motor vehicle violation.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Ignacio R. Velasquez of Adolphus Street in Forked River on an active warrant out of Woodland Township Municipal Court for $1000.  Ignacio Velasquez was transported to police headquarters and processed.  He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.  

Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 8:12 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 500 block of Lanlac Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief.  The homeowner reported damage to his mailbox in the amount of $150.00.  The incident occurred sometime during the overnight hours between January 27 and January 28, 2018.

Credit Card Fraud – On Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 11:29 a.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to police headquarters to take a report of credit card fraud.  The victim reported that someone had fraudulently been using his TD Bank debit card number from March of 2017 to January 25, 2018.  The unknown person(s) was using the card to pay their Comcast cable bill on several occasions totaling approximately $756. He contacted TD Bank and was provided with a new debit card.  At the time of this report, there are no suspects.  The incident remains under investigation.

Warrant Arrest – On Friday, January 26, 2018, at 5:38 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 700 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor to investigate a suspicious incident.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the suspect, 48-year-old John Triantafilakis of 33rd Street, Astoria, NY, for a warrant out of the Atlantic City Municipal Court in the amount of $1500.00.  He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and transported to the Ocean County Jail after being unable to post bail.

Illegal Dumping – On Friday, January 26, 2018, at 1:24 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Department of Public Works for a report of Illegal Dumping.  Video Surveillance captured two males placing trash bags into a recycling dumpster.  The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the incident was later resolved at the scene.

Weekly Police Blotter – January 19th, 2018 through January 25th, 2018

 

  • Shoplifting- On Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 1:41 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Walmart, 580 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Jodi Sofia, 27, of James Hollow Dr, Barnegat, for stealing approximately $24.00 worth of merchandise.  Jodi Sofia was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after being charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting.
  • Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 7:52 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol in the area of Olds and Ocean Street, Forked River, when he observed a male standing alongside of the road holding an open container of alcohol. Investigation at the scene led to the male, 34-year-old Orrice W. Congdon of Olds Street, Forked River, to be in possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and released after being charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Hit and Run – On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 6:38 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno, Julie Barcalow, and Scott Keefe responded to the 1200 block of Cypress Street for a reported hit and run motor vehicle crash. A white utility van was located at the scene after striking a telephone pole in front of a residence.  The driver, who was determined not to have been the registered owner, fled the scene on foot and has not yet been identified.  JCP&L was notified and responded to repair the pole.  The incident remains under investigation.
  • Shoplifting – On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 5:04 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Dan Ricciardella responded to Walmart, Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a female shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 45-year-old Lorraine H. Schuster, Hazelton Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting approximately $12.74 worth of merchandise.  Lorraine H. Schuster was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, and released after being charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 3:27 p.m., Officer George Resetar conducted a motor vehicle stop on Western Boulevard near Manchester Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a suspended driver. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 19-year-old Alexander T. Modestino, of Devon Street, Forked River, on an outstanding traffic warrant issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court for $500.00.  Alexander was transported to police headquarters, processed, and lodged in the Ocean County Jail after being unable to post bail.
  • Burglary/Criminal Mischief – On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 2:42 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to the 500 block of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief to a residence that was under construction. An unknown person(s) had entered the unlocked residence and damaged an interior wall.   The damage occurred sometime between 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, and 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.  Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the residence.  Damage was estimated at $50.
  • Theft/Trespassing Arrest- On January 23, 2018, detectives from the Lacey Township Police Department arrested Justin Wilson, 27, of Fifth Bayway, Toms River, for theft of removable property and trespassing. The arrest was a result of an incident previously reported to the Lacey Township Police Department on January 11, 2018.  The owner of Caffrey’s Steakhouse and Tavern, 440 Route 9, Forked River, reported that between 5:30 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. on January 11, 2018, 4 aluminum kegs were stolen from the fenced area adjacent to the restaurant.  The value of the theft was estimated at $300.00.  The suspect and the vehicle involved were identified from surveillance video at the scene.  It has been determined that several similar incidents have occurred, and that additional suspects are being sought.  Justin Wilson was charged on a criminal summons with theft of movable property and trespassing, and released pending a future court appearance.
  • Shoplifting Arrest- On January 23, 2018, at 5:28 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella and Officer George Resetar responded to Kohls, 304 Route 9, Forked River, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Sydney Littleford, 19, of Predmore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, for attempting to steal 24 pieces of jewelry valued at $1159.00 from the store.  Sydney Littleford was arrested, processed, and released pending a court date after being charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 12:41 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop on Haines Street, near the high school. The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Kayla Gomes of Annapolis Road, South Toms River, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Manalapan Township Municipal Court for $164.  She was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.  She received a summons for maintenance of lamps.
  • Shoplifting – On Monday, January 22, 2018, at 6:33 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the Wawa on Lacey Road, Forked River, for a report of a shoplifter. A female was seen on surveillance video paying for some items, then concealing unpaid merchandise valued at $4.00 in her purse before leaving the store.  Investigation at the scene led to the eventual arrest of 19-year-old Angelina N. Fellanto of Deerhead Lake Drive, Forked River.  She was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after being charged on a criminal summons with shoplifting.
  • Shoplifting – On Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 5:57 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to Kohl’s, Route 9 North, Forked River, for a report of a shoplifter. The loss prevention officer stated he observed a male subject wearing a Nike baseball cap remove a necklace from its box and conceal it in his pocket.   The male subject tried to leave the store and was confronted by the loss prevention officer.  The shoplifter threw the necklace down and fled the store on a lime green mountain bicycle.  The incident remains under investigation.
  • Theft – On Friday, January 19, 2018, at 5:36 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Lacey Township Middle School on Denton Avenue in Forked River to take a report for a bicycle theft. The complainant stated that he rode his bicycle to school that morning and locked it to the bike rack.   After his sports practice, he returned to the rack and found his bicycle missing.  The bike is described as a black and red mountain bike with straight handle bars.  The total value of the theft is estimated at $150.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 11th, 2018 through January 18th, 2018

  • DUI & Possession of CDS – On Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 7:48 p.m. Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Beach Boulevard in Forked River for a two-car motor vehicle collision. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old David Kuncken Jr. of Key West Drive in Forked River, NJ, for DUI and Possession of CDS. David Kuncken Jr. was transported to Lacey Township Police headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples. David Kuncken Jr. was also charged with Possession of 50 grams or Less of Marijuana. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Burglary (Auto) – On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 7:41 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 1300 block of Leguene Avenue in Forked River for a report of burglary. The victim reported that some person(s) entered his vehicle between 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 and rummaged through the glove box. The victim reported that a one-dollar bill had been stolen. The vehicle was unlocked at the time of the incident.
  • Suspicious Incident – On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 4:52 p.m., Officers Julie Barcalow and Anthony Sarno were dispatched to the 1000 block of Montauk Drive in Forked River for a report of a suspicious incident. The caller reported that she had heard a female screaming for help in the marshland across the lagoon from her residence. A short time later, this agency received another call from a resident on the 400 block of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor in reference to hearing a female in distress in the marshland behind his residence. The officers, along with the Lanoka Harbor Fire Company, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, NJ Forrest Fire Service, and the NJ State Police Aviation Division searched the marsh and wooded areas in between Cedar Drive and Montauk Drive. The areas were searched with the assistance of an infrared and thermal imaging drone and helicopter. No one was located after a three hour search of the area and no further reports were received.
  • Burglary (Auto) – On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 12:19 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the 700 block of Amherst Road in Forked River for a report of theft. The victim reported that between 9:20 a.m. and 9:47 a.m. on January 16, 2018 some person(s) entered his vehicle and stole his wallet which had been sitting on top of the center console. The victim reported that the vehicle was unlocked and parked in the parking lot of the Lanoka Harbor Post Office, 402 Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, during the incident. The men’s black leather wallet contained his NJ Driver’s License, NJ Firearms ID Card, and two credit cards. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $20.
  • CDS Arrest – On Sunday January 14, 2018, at 8:35 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari was on patrol in the area of Laurel Boulevard when he when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the vehicle’s registration was Officer Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle near the intersection of Laurel Boulevard and Oak Road.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 24-year-old Michael F. Rinato of Carolyn Court in Lanoka Harbor for possession of Marijuana. Michael Rinato was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Possession of 50 Grams or Less of Marijuana.  Michael Rinato was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Unregistered Motor Vehicle and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 9:36 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick was conducting a radar post in the area of Beach Boulevard and Biscayne Drive when he received a hit on his mobile data terminal (MDT) indicating that the vehicle registration was Officer Nick conducted a motor vehicle stop of that vehicle near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Palm Beach Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 37-year-old Allison E. Connors of Ocean Gate, NJ, on an outstanding Berkeley Township Municipal Court criminal warrant in the bail amount of $500. Allison Connors was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Berkeley Township Police Department.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 9:43 p.m., Officers Christopher Meyler and Anthony Sarno responded to Enterprise Drive near the intersection of Independence Drive for a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the vehicle was observed on the front lawn of a residence on the 300 block of Enterprise Drive. The vehicle had extensive damage from striking a rock, stop sign, and fence. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Phillip A. Scheller of Capstan Drive in Forked River, NJ, for Driving Under the Influence. Phillip Scheller was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Water Leak – On Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 7:22 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 1200 block of Olds Street for a water leak. Water was flowing out of the shut off valve in front of the residence.  Lacey Municipal Utilities Authority responded but was unable to shut the water off. LMUA had to dig up the street in front of the residence and traffic in the area had to be re-routed as a result.
  • Motor Vehicle Fire – On Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 12:09 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the area of Weehawkin Avenue near Alpine Street in Forked River, for a report of a vehicle fire. The driver, who was the only occupant, had exited the vehicle prior to the arrival of officers. The Forked River Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. The driver of the vehicle reported that he had just left Wawa, 800 Lacey Road in Forked River, when he observed his battery light come on. The driver said that he then saw smoke coming from under his hood and he immediately stopped and exited his vehicle before the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The fire was not deemed suspicious by the Chief of the Forked River Fire Department.
  • Suspicious Person – On Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 11:39 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to JT’s Bagel Hut, 918 Lacey Road in Forked River for a report of a suspicious person who was asking patrons for money and claiming to be homeless. Officer McKee searched the area and located the subject on Gary Smith Way in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the subject, 38-year-old Jason L. Rumfield of Hunter Hills in Flemington, NJ, on two outstanding warrants, an Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department no bail warrant and a Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department no bail warrant. Jason Rumfield was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • Resisting Arrest & Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 9:35 a.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella was on patrol in the area of Wawa, 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, when he observed a subject who had an active warrant for his arrest. Officer Ricciardella approached the suspect, 25-year-old Kyle Pianetti of Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, who subsequently took off running from him and refused his orders to stop. Officer Ricciardella chased Kyle Pianetti on foot and apprehended him a short distance later. Kyle Pianetti was placed under arrest on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no bail warrant. Kyle Pianetti was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Resisting Arrest. Kyle Pianetti was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
  • Urinating In Public – On Friday, January 12, 2018, at 1:55 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins and Sergeant Ron Buxton were in the rear parking lot of Lacey Township Police Headquarters when they observed a male vomiting on the side of the Wawa, 800 West Lacey Road in Forked River. Upon approaching the male subject to check his well-being, the officers observed him urinating on the side of the building. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of, 21-year-old Kyle F. Mitchell of Ashwood Place in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Kyle Mitchell was issued a special complaint summons at the scene for Urinating in Public.
  • DUI Arrest – On Friday, January 12, 2018, at 12:53 a.m., Officer Jason Lee was on patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling north on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South, failing to maintain its lane of travel. Officer Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle on Lacey Road near Lake Barnegat Drive North for failure to maintain lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 31-year-old Jill A. Lameiras of Butler Boulevard in Bayville, NJ, for DUI. Jill Lameiras was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.  The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Theft – On Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 3:25 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to Caffrey’s Tavern, Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of theft. The business owner reported that between 5:30 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. on January 11, 2018 four aluminum kegs had been stolen from a fenced-in area on the north side of the restaurant.  The total value of the aluminum kegs is $120. The theft was captured on video surveillance and the Lacey Township Detective Bureau is investigating.

  • Fraud – On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 7:01 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari took a report from a victim regarding credit card fraud. The victim reported that she received her Citi Bank credit card statement and discovered several unauthorized purchases that had been made. The victim then reported that her husband later discovered that his credit card was missing. Purchases were made with the credit card in Lacey Township, Berkeley Township, Toms River Township, and Point Pleasant. It was determined that the purchases occurred between the October 16, 2017, and October 21, 2017, totaling over $1500. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 4:50 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Surf Taco, 44 Manchester Avenue, in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Nicole A. Brown, of Brentwood Drive, Bayville, NJ, for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Bordentown Municipal Court for $114. She was transported to police headquarters, processed, and was released after posting bail. Nicole A. Brown was issued motor vehicle summonses for Unregistered Motor Vehicle and Failure to Exhibit Insurance Card.
  • Fraud – On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 4:23 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to Sheffield Drive in Forked River to take a fraud report. The complainant reported that he received a call from Allied Legal Services claiming that he owed $1128 on a Legacy Bank Visa Credit Card. The caller stated they would settle for $600 but it had to be paid immediately or the complainant would be arrested. The complainant requested a letter or bill via the mail but was refused.   Officer Verwey contacted Allied Legal Services for further clarity, but no information was supplied and Allied Legal Services eventually hung up. The complainant was not out any money and was advised ways to protect his identity.
  • Drug Arrest- On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 1:23 p.m., members of the Lacey Township Detective Bureau arrested two Berkeley Township residents at a local convenience store. Prior to the arrests, detectives witnessed a suspicious interaction between the two men prior to both entering a public bathroom. Detectives entered the bathroom and located one of the suspects, Christopher Bovino, 24, holding cash. The second suspect, Brendan Wason, 30, was locked in a stall. As he exited, detectives discovered 9 wax folds containing heroin on the floor. Christopher Bovino, 24, of Riverside Drive, Bayville, was charged with possession of heroin and distribution of the same. Brendan Wason, 30, of Riverside Drive, Bayville, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were released pending a Court appearance.
  • Theft – On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The victim reported that she let a friend stay at her Beach Blvd, Forked River residence with her on January 6, 2018. Her friend arrived at approximately 10:30 p.m. and stayed until the following morning. The victim left for work at 10:00 a.m. on January 7, 2018, at which point she discovered $300.00 missing from her purse. She confronted her friend but he denied taking the money. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Theft/Criminal Mischief- On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 8:50 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the intersection of Hillwood Road and Hillwood Drive in Forked River, to investigate a theft of Lacey Township property. Members of the Lacey Township Department of Public Works reported that the aluminum street sign pole was cut horizontally, and the street sign and top of the pole were stolen. The incident appeared to have taken place prior to January 4, 2018. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Gas Leak – On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 10:11 a.m. , Officers Michael Verwey and John Simonson responded to the construction site at 244 Route 9 North in Forked River for a report of a struck gas line. It was discovered that a worker struck a gas line under the construction site. New Jersey Natural Gas and the Forked River Fire Company responded to the scene. Gas service to the entire complex was turned off by the gas company to facilitate the repair. Adjacent properties were checked and found to be unaffected.
  • Theft from Auto – On Sunday, January 7, 2018, at 11:17 a.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft from a vehicle. The victim believes that someone entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked on the 800 block of Devon Street in Forked River between December 22, 2017 and December 25, 2017. A Husky toolbox, a Leister Triac Welding Kit, and a men’s wallet containing three credit cards and a NJ Driver’s License were taken. The total value of the items stolen is estimated at $744. The victim’s NJ Driver’s License was later returned via the US Postal service. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, January 5, 2018, at 7:23 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Adam Ewart located a disabled vehicle that ran off the road into a snow mound on Lacey Road, west of the Route 9 intersection. The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Lianne Crincoli of Greenwood Lane, Forked River, was not hurt. Investigation at the scene led to her arrest for having an outstanding traffic warrant out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $578. Lianne Crincoli was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.
  • Fire – On Friday, January 5, 2018, at 4:10 p.m., Officers Andrew Slota and Jesse Dalziel responded to the 1800 block of Allwood Place in Forked River for a report of a structure fire. The homeowner noticed that their detached garage door appeared to be melting. Upon arrival, the Forked River Fire Department was on scene and was able to contain and extinguish the fire without incident. Members from the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office as well as Lacey Township Detectives Brian Flynn and Sam Della Sala responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. A 2005 work van, two dirt bikes, and various tools were inside the garage.
  • Burglary-Theft from Residence – On Friday, January 5, 2018, at 3:44 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 200 block of Quail Lane South in Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft from a residence. The victim reported that sometime between December 25, 2017, and January 5, 2018, an unknown person(s) made entry into his secured garage and entered his locked safe. The suspect(s) took approximately $100,000 worth of jewelry inside the safe. Detective Brian Flynn responded and processed the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Fraud – On Friday, January 5, 2018, at 12:51 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to police headquarters to take a report of a suspicious incident. The complainant reported that he received a bill from Comcast in his name for services received from June 2017 to September 2017 for $766.82. The victim stated that his Comcast account is in his wife’s name and he never activated another account with Comcast. There are no suspects at the time of reporting and Comcast will be looking into this matter.
