Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 22nd, through March 28th, 2019

 

 

 

  • Criminal Mischief — On Thursday, March 28, 2019, at 7:20 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 1500 block of Beach Boulevard in reference to criminal mischief to a residence. Unknown person(s) sprayed paint on the side of the residence damaging the vinyl siding in the amount of approximately $300.
  • CDS Arrest — On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 1:09 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to a possible disabled vehicle on Route 9, near the Oyster Creek Power Plant. Sergeant Robert Surtees and Officer Julie Barcalow arrived to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 42-year-old Edwin J. Nieves of Route 166, Toms River, NJ, and 35-year-old Heather A. McMillan of Marine Road, Waretown, NJ for CDS. Both were transported to police headquarters and processed. Edwin Nieves was charged on a warrant for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Heather McMillan was charged on a warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana. Both were transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in accordance with bail reform.
  • Warrant Arrest — On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 6:04 p.m., Officer Randolph Plis responded to the area of Biscayne Drive to serve an active Lacey Township Municipal Court Warrant on Erin Albertson. Officer Sarno transported Erin Albertson to headquarters where she was processed on the $600 warrant, and released on her own recognizance.
  • Theft — On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 2:11 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the area of Chelsea Street in reference to fraud. The victim reported that his debit card had two transactions which he did not have any idea of what they were. The transactions were in the amount of $1,950 each, totaling $3,900.. His account was flagged by the bank and turned over to Bank of America’s fraud division.
  • Warrant Arrest — On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 12:03 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop on Bay Way and Thorn Street in Lanoka Harbor. Officer Anthony Sarno arrived on scene to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 23-year-old Raymond J. Boertmann of Navesink Avenue, Ocean Gate, NJ, on two outstanding warrants. The first warrant is out of Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750; the second out of Southhampton Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Raymond Boertmann was processed and released on his own recognizance.
  • Fire — On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 10:07 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and Patrick Watkins responded to the 700 block of Eagleswood Place in Forked River for a report of a chimney fire with flames showing. The Forked River Fire Department arrived on scene to investigate.   The fire appeared to be a result of the wood burning stove not being cleaned properly. The home was inspected and deemed safe to return.
  • DWI Arrest – On Monday, March 25, 2019, at 7:19 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari, Julie Barcalow, and Christopher Meyler arrived at the 900 block of Beach Boulevard for a traffic accident where the driver struck a tree. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Savannah L. Banks of Pensacola Road, Forked River, for DWI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Savannah Banks was issued motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Underage DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Driving While Suspended. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Credit Card Fraud – On Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 9:22 a.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas took a report of fraud at police headquarters. The complainant reported that on March 23, 2019, she noticed her checking account was short money. When she checked her online statement, she noticed that an unknown person, who identified himself as “Justin Small” withdrew $500 from her checking account. She reported this incident to her bank and the bank immediately closed her account.
  • Theft – On Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 3:09 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to police headquarters to take a report of bank fraud. The complainant reported that his debit card had been compromised. Unknown person(s) made multiple fraudulent purchases using his debit card totaling over $478. The complainant filed a report with TD Bank’s fraud division.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, March 22, 2019, at 4:39 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Noah Schaffer responded to Shop Rite on Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter in custody. A Loss Prevention associate apprehended the suspect, 62-year-old John W. Weber of Riviera Drive, Forked River, after the suspect utilized some body spray products and put them back on the shelf.  The loss prevention specialist also advised police that the suspect ate an orange and failed to pay for it. The store merchandise he failed to pay for totaled $23.47.   John Weber was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on a criminal summons for shoplifting.
  • Fraud – On Friday, March 22, 2019, at 3:18 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey took a report off fraud at police headquarters. The complainant stated that approximately two weeks ago, he received an email from Actionable Intelligence Delivery to be a secret shopper. The complainant received a check in the amount of $1,750 and he was instructed to purchase three gift cards.  He was told to purchase two for $500, one for $400, and take photos of the gift cards with the security strip scratched off.  He was further instructed to text them to a telephone number provided by Action Intelligence Delivery. The complainant followed the instructions.  When he completed the task, he was told he would be able to cash the check. The check was fraudulent as well as the additional checks he was sent. The complainant was out a total of $1400 for the gift cards.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 15th, through March 21st, 2019

 

 

 

 

  • Theft – On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 1:13 p.m. Officer Randolph Plis responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The complainant reported that a trailer was stolen from his property located on the 1700 block of Lakeside Drive South, between Monday, March 18, and Tuesday, March 19, 2019.   The total amount of the theft is estimated at $4,000. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Residential Burglary – On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 7:11 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the 1700 block of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River for a report of an attempted residential burglary. The complaint reported that sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19th, an unknown person(s) attempted to gain entry to the residence through a bedroom window on the side of the house. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home. The estimated cost to repair the damage to the window is $300.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, March 18, 2019, at 9:33 p.m., at police headquarters, Officer Patrick Watkins arrested 34-year-old Lauren M. Keller of Oak Road, Lanoka Harbor, for two outstanding Cranford Township warrants in the amount of $500.    Lauren Keller was processed and released on her own recognizance.
  • Vehicle Fire – On Monday, March 18, 2019, at 12:09 p.m., Officer Randolph Plis responded to Immediate Care on Lacey Road in Forked River for a vehicle that was smoking in the parking lot. The driver of the vehicle was inside the medical building. Members of the Forked River Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
  • Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant ArrestOn Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 10:23 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lakeside Drive South and Woodland Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 34-year-old Michael Houseworth of Spruce Street, Bordenton, NJ, on an outstanding Pennsauken Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1500 and a Pemberton Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $525. Michael Houseworth was transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released on his own recognizance.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 9:25 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe arrested 28-year-old Paul R. Clifton of Arlington Avenue, Forked River, on a no-bail Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant for simple assault. Paul Clifton was processed and transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility in accordance with bail reform.
  • CDS Arrest – On Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 9:13 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop for careless driving near the parking lot of the Municipal Building (808 Lacey Road, Forked River). Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Jacob W. Montgomery of Carver Street, Bayville, NJ for CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Jacob Montgomery was charged on a criminal complaint summons with possession of CDS. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for Careless Driving and  was released.
  • Traffic Accident – On Monday, March 18, 2019 at 9:05 a.m., Officers Dan Ricciardella and Michael Hein responded to the 300 block of North Main Street, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building. After the vehicle exited the car wash, the owner of the vehicle heard a loud collision. Investigation at the scene revealed that an employee drove the vehicle out of the car wash into the parking lot. The vehicle suddenly accelerated through the parking lot and struck the side of Christopher’s Auto Sales. A Lacey Township Building Department employee arrived and surveyed the damage. The building was deemed unsafe at the time of the inspection.
  • Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 1:07 p.m., Officers Dan Ricciardella and John Cate responded to a local business, North East Passage on Route 9 South in Forked River for an activated burglar alarm. A broken window was located on the side of the business. Three juveniles were seen leaving the area.  The juveniles were located and escorted to police headquarters where their parents were contacted. Nothing appeared to be missing from the business and no other damage was reported.  The business owner advised the officers that they did not wish to pursue complaints in the matter. The juveniles were released to their parents.
  • Gas Leak – On Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 11:57 a.m., Officers John McKee, John Simonson, and Sergeant Michael Eden responded to the 500 block of Holmes Avenue in Forked River for a report of a gas leak. The homeowner stated that her husband was installing a vinyl fence at their residence and while he was digging the posthole, he struck a gas line causing a leak. The Forked River Fire Department and the NJ Natural Gas Company responded to the scene and remediated the problem.
  • Brush Fire – On Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 2:19 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson responded to the area of JT’s Bagel Hut and Lacey Shell on Lacey Road in Forked River for a small brush fire between the two parking lots. The cause of the fire is believed to be a discarded cigarette igniting leaves and litter. No damage was reported.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 1:37 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of shoplifting. The suspect, 40-year-old Randy L. Lynch of Laurel Drive, Whiting, NJ, was apprehended by an Asset Protection Associate while attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at $60. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released on a criminal summons for shoplifting.
  • House Fire – On Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 12:19 p.m., Officers Noah Schaffer, Frederick Anderson, Austin Deane and Lieutenant Christopher Kenny responded to the 400 block of Riverview Road for a house fire. Officers observed a large amount of smoke coming from the back portion of the home. Forked River Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. The fire appeared to have started on the back porch area of the home. The fire may have started by a discarded cigarette.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, March 15, 2019, at 9:21 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a shoplifter detained by an Asset Protection Associate. Officer Martin Julian arrived on scene to assist. The suspect, 61-year-old Valerie A. Materia of Montauk Drive, Forked River, was apprehended while attempting to leave the store with merchandise valued at$144.65. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released on a criminal summons for shoplifting.

  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the Wal-Mart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 38-year-old Robert Thomas 3rd of Cromwell Lane, Jackson, NJ for shoplifting $169.63 worth of merchandise. He was processed and taken to Ocean County Correctional Facility in accordance with bail reform.
  • Dog Bite – On Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 11:21 a.m., Officers Michael Verwey, Frederick Anderson and Noah Schaffer responded to the area of Maxim Drive for a report of a dog bite. Investigation at the scene, found the 63-year-old victim to have multiple lacerations and bites to both hands. The victim was attempting to separate two family owned (Boxer& Pit-bull) dogs involved in a fight. She was flown to Jersey Shore University Hospital due to the extent of her injuries.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 10:41 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota conducted a motor vehicle stop on Oak Street and Route 9 South in Forked River. The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Stephen P. Pajewski of Route 37 West in Toms River, NJ, was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Manchester Municipal Court totaling $1500. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
  • Illegal Dumping – On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 10:23 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Dollar Tree Express on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of Illegal Dumping. The caller reported that an unknown person(s) left a propane tank near the clothing bins. The propane tank was collected and discarded to the Lacey Township Department of Public Works.
  • DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, March 12 2019, at 1:05 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Spirits Unlimited parking lot in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 52-year-old Alfred Mathieu of Bob White Court, Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without an interlock device. Alfred Mathieu was charged on a criminal summons with Operating a Motor vehicle during a period of license suspension for DWI. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 12:10 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 400 block of Hidden Harbor Place in Lanoka Harbor to take a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that she arrived at her house and found the glass panel on her front door broken. The damage is estimated at $1000.
  • Eluding – On Monday, March 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., Officer John Simonson attempted to conduct a Motor Vehicle stop on Route 9 North near Kohl’s on Route 9 North in Forked River. The driver, 39-year-old William J. Perry, Jr., of Yorktown Drive, Forked River, refused to stop for the officer’s lights and sirens. He continued to drive around the parking lot and crossed Route 9 until he reached his residence at 316 Yorktown Drive, Forked River. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. William Perry, Jr., was arrested and charged with eluding. He was released on a criminal summons along with motor vehicle charges for failure to stop, failure to possess a driver’s license and careless driving.
  • Residential Burglary – On Monday, March 11, 2019, Officer John McKee responded to the 800 block of Pensacola Road in Forked River for a residential burglary. The resident reported that while he was away for several days, an unknown person(s) removed the doorknobs and entered the home. Several items were broken and reported missing, including food, clothes, and a microwave.   The estimated value of the burglary is $3875. This incident remains under investigation.
  • Illegal Dumping – On Sunday, March 10, 2019, at 5:39 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the woods at the end of North Dover Road for a complaint of illegal dumping. Unknown person(s) left a large mound of debris including wood, shingles, PVC pipes, and a large green construction bag in the woods. The Department of Public Works was notified to clean up the area.
  • DUI Arrest – On Friday, March 8, 2019, at 9:15 p.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel and Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Kelly Graham of Western Boulevard, Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kelly Graham received motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Criminal Mischief – On Friday, March 8, 2019, at 12:37 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson, along with Manchester Township Police Department, were dispatched to investigate multiple instances of criminal mischief to vehicles travelling on Route 539. The suspect vehicle was driving on Route 539 and throwing objects at passing vehicles. The three vehicles involved sustained damage estimated at $1500. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Stolen Property – On Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 12:13 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson responded to the 700 block of Capstan Drive in Forked River for the report of recovered stolen property. A Ford backhoe was stolen from Toms River in 2012 and discovered on a Capstan Drive work site. The owner of the backhoe, a Lavalette, NJ, resident, was notified. He provided the certificate of origin and planned to take back ownership of the backhoe. This incident remains under investigation.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 1st, through March 7, 2019

 

 

 

  • Structure Fire – On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 5:36 p.m., Officers Elton Copes, Jason Lee, and Scott Anderson responded to the 2000 block of Crestwood Drive in Forked River for a structure fire with flames coming from the garage. Local Fire Departments arrived and extinguished the fire. The Ocean County Fire Marshall was on scene to investigate. The fire may have started from cigarette ashes.
  • Fraud – On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 4:55 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant reported that an unknown person opened a Macy’s Credit card in her name and charged $300 to the card. The case remains under investigation.
  • Check Fraud – On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 4:52 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant reported that he wrote a personal check to a law firm and when it was deposited, it appeared to be altered changing to amount to $2500. Chase Bank was notified.
  • Fraud – On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 2:55 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant reported that she received a call from a woman who identified herself as “Susan Smith” claiming to be a federal agent. The complainant was told that her Social Security Number and date of birth was compromised and she was asked to confirm her personal information. After confirming her personal information, she was then transferred to a male who identified himself as “Kevin Hicks” who also asked for her personal information. The complainant was provided with identity theft literature and instructed to contact the three major credit bureaus.
  • Power Outage – On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 2:38 p.m., the Sunrise Beach section of town experienced a large power outage. Officer Schaffer responded to the scene. JCP&L was advised of the incident and power was restored.
  • Suspicious Incident – On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 9:47 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 1700 block of Woodside Road in Forked River for a complaint of a suspicious person described as a tall male, around 250 lbs. wearing a hoodie and winter cap attempting to go into his open garage. The subject did not gain entry and fled in an unknown direction on foot.
  • Illegal Dumping – On Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11:25 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the area of Carriage Road in Forked River for a report of illegal dumping. Investigation at the scene revealed that multiple car parts were thrown in a wooded area off of Carriage Road. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Fire Alarm – On Friday, March 1, 2019, at 5:45 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the 580 Route 9 North (WalMart) for a report of a fire alarm sounding and an employee reporting smoke coming from the pharmacy area. Investigation at the scene proved the alarm to be false and the fire company was unable to find any smoke.
  • Theft– On Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 6:59 p.m., Officer Jessie Dalziel responded to the 500 block of Brentwood Road in Forked River to take a report of theft. The victim reported that unknown person(s) stole four checks out of his checkbook that he left in his (unlocked) vehicle.  Three of the four checks were already processed by the bank.  The checks were all written out for different amounts with different signatures on them, totaling approximately $1,100.  The incident remains under investigation.
  • Theft – On Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 5:07 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 300 block of Harris Road in Forked River to take a report of theft. The victim reported that his Chicago wet saw, valued at $299, with a Makita diamond blade, valued at $199, was stolen from his backyard. The equipment was last seen on February 8, 2019. Nothing else appeared to be missing from the backyard.

  • CDS/Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at 11:33 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel while patrolling the area near Game Farm Road and Route 9 North in Forked River stopped a male subject on a bicycle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 29-year-old Christopher Cox of Jay Street, Forked River, for having outstanding warrants out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department totaling $40,393 and warrants from Robbinsville Municipal Court in the amount of $1150, Toms River Municipal Court in the amount of $500, and Seaside Heights Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Search incident to arrest, Christopher Cox was found to be in possession of Heroin, Xanax, Valium, Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Christopher Cox was arrested, processed, and charged criminally. He was transferred to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
  • Suspicious Person– On Monday, February 25, 2019, at 10:46 a.m., Officers Noah Schaffer and Alan Abrecht responded to Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor after receiving a call from the Loss Prevention Officer for a customer harassing employees. The two subjects were no longer permitted in the store or on store property.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, February 25, 2019, at 10:46 a.m., Officers Noah Schaffer and Alan Abrecht responded to Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor after receiving a call from the Loss Prevention Officer for a customer harassing employees. The two subjects were no longer permitted in the store or on store property. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 33-year-old Michael D. Claudy of Rellim Drive, Old Bridge, NJ, on two outstanding warrants out of Brielle Boro Municipal Court totaling $1000. Rachael K. Wimmer, 28, of Huron Trail, Branchburg, NJ, was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Neptune Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1000. Both were transported to police headquarters. Brielle Police arrived and transported Michael Claudy to Brielle Police Department. Rachael Wimmer was processed and released on her own recognizance.
  • Theft – On Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 8:50 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft of a bicycle. The complainant stated the black specialized mountain bike was left unlocked and taken from the 700 block of Lacey Road between 5:50 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. The approximate cost of the mountain bike is $1000.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 4:51 p.m., Officers Michael Hutman and Michael Baldasari responded to Walmart, Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter in custody. The accused, 54-year-old Cynthia Geiger of Station Drive in Forked River, stole over $800 in assorted merchandise. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Cynthia Geiger was released after receiving a summons for shoplifting.
  • Fire – On Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 12:48 p.m., Officers Michael Hutman responded to Emerald Court in Forked River for a report of smoke throughout the home. The Forked River Fire Company responded to the scene and deemed the smoke was coming from a microwave in the home.
  • DWI Arrest – On Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 3:53 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the 700 block of Chesapeake Drive in Forked River after receiving an aggressive driver complaint. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 49-year-old Susan M. Weaver, for DUI. Susan Weaver was transported to police headquarters and processed. She received motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.
  • Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, February 23, 2019, multiple complaints of Criminal Mischief were reported. The vehicles were vandalized using washable green and red paint markers; no permanent damage is reported.
  • Fraud – On Friday, February 22, 2019, at 11:36 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant stated he received a message on his home phone from a male claiming to be from the Arizona Social Security Office. He contacted the phone number and spoke with “Jacob” who advised him that his social security number had been fraudulently used to open 78 bank accounts and used to rent a car that was abandoned in Texas. Officer Slota advised the complainant to contact the local Special Security Administration and advise them of the incident.
  • DWI/Warrant Arrest – On Friday, February 22, 2019, at 3:06 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Walmart parking lot on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Officer Christopher Meyler arrived on scene to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 25-year-old Toni A. Paluscio of Lincoln Avenue, Seaside Heights, NJ, for DUI. She was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Beachwood Municipal Court in the amount of $114. Toni Paluscio was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Fire – On Friday, February 22, 2019, at 12:42 a.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the 1400 block of Clearview Street in Forked River for a report of a fire already extinguished by the homeowner. The Forked River Fire Company responded to the scene, as well as the Ocean County Fire Marshall. There was significant damage in the bedroom to the carpet, the molding, and smoke damage to the ceiling. It appeared that the fire may have started by a lamp.
  • Suspicious Person – On Friday, February 22, 2019, at 12:17 a.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and Michael Baldasari responded to the Lacey Road (WaWa) in Forked River for a report of a male customer causing a disturbance in the store. Responding officers reported that the subject paid for his items and left the store without incident.
