Structure Fire- On Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 6:02 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Holly Place residence for an active structure fire.  Officers and members of the Forked River Fire Department were able to access the home and locate the sole tenant who is disabled.  The homeowner was carried from the residence to safety as the Forked River and Lanoka Harbor Fire Departments extinguished the fire.  The tenant, a 52 year-old female, and two police officers were transported to local hospitals for smoke inhalation.  It appears through the initial investigation, conducted by the Ocean County Fire Marshal and Lacey Detectives that the fire originated in the kitchen of the home.  The cause of the fire has not been determined.
