Promotion to Sergeant- On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Officer Michael Hein (pictured right) was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Hein is a lifelong resident of Lacey Township. He began his law enforcement career as a Correctional Police Officer, initially with the New Jersey Department of Corrections before moving on to the Ocean County Department of Corrections. In April 2013, Sergeant Hein was hired by the Lacey Township Police Department. He has an Associate’s Degree from Ocean County College, two Bachelor’s Degrees from Kean University, in Criminal Justice and Sociology, and a Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Public Administration.
