Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Fire Alarm – On Thursday, February 14, 2019, at2:32 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the area of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a fire alarm. Investigation at the scene revealed that the detector was faulty. Theft – On Thursday, February 14, 2019, at11:03 a.m., Officers Randolph Plis and Daniel Ricciardella responded to the area of Center Street in Forked River for some type of dispute in progress. Investigation at the scene revealed that the subject was angry over an unknown person(s) stealing her lap top book bag. The bag is worth approximately $18.00. Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 5:39 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Patrick Watkins were dispatched to the 200 block of Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River for a dispute. Investigation at the scene revealed 35-year-old Christopher J. Martorina had an outstanding warrant out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $483. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released on his own recognizance. Traffic Accident – On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 10:31 a.m., Officer Michael Hutman responded to the area of the 400 block of Penn Ave N for a report of a single car motor vehicle accident into a tree. The male driver was identified as a 67-year-old Waretown resident. He appeared to have lost control of the vehicle in the parking lot of 422 Lacey Road and drove it into the yard (411 Penn Ave N) striking the mailbox, a lawn ornament, a motorcycle trailer, a section of fence and eventually a tree in the backyard. The driver displayed signs of possible head trauma and was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center. It is believed that the driver was in some type of medical distress prior to the accident occurring. Debit Card Fraud – On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 12:21 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The complainant stated on January 30, 2019, he received an email from his bank (Ocean First) that a fraud detection flag was placed on his debit card in the amount of $3,500.00. Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 12:17 a.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Scott Keefe located a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Wawa, located on Laurel Avenue and Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 34-year-old Lauren Keller of Seaside Park, NJ, on two outstanding Paterson Municipal Court warrants with bail totaling $1000, along with a Hunterdon County No Bail Warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Lauren Keller was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident. Fraud – On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 1:01 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The 73-year-old woman reported that she sold a painting on line for $210. The buyer sent her a cashier’s check for $1965. At the request of the buyer, she cashed the check and agreed to send the buyer back the difference of $1755 using an app by the name of Zelle. Shoplifting - On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, Officer Michael Baldasari completed a shoplifting investigation, resulting in the arrest of 56-year-old Giacomino Sandella of Oak Hill Court in Lanoka Harbor. The shoplifting occurred on November 3, 2016, at the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River. During the incident Giacomino Sandella shoplifted merchandise valued at $31.69 before fleeing the store. He was processed, charged, and released on a complaint summons for Shoplifting. Criminal Mischief (Residence) - On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 7:41 p.m., Officer Robert Duffy responded to the 1000 block of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on December 13, 2016, an unknown person or persons cut electrical wiring for her Christmas Lights. The damage is estimated at $10.00. Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 6:47 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 400 block of Penn Avenue North in Forked River, for a theft report. Shoplifting – On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 2:41 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Steven Koc of Vine Street in Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $9.97. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Steven Koc was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting. DUI Arrest– On Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 9:50 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the Wawa, located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of an intoxicated driver. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old James R. Smith of Buena Vista Road in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. James R. Smith was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Burglary – Residence – On Thursday, November 29, 2016, at 2:46 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 1000 block of South Branch Way in Forked River for a report of a burglary to the residence. The listing agent of the property notified police of the incident and believed that the residence was burglarized sometime between 11/18/2016 thru 11/29/2016. The residence was entered by prying open a side entrance door. The owner of the property was called to the scene and it was determined that nothing was removed from the home. The damage to the door was valued at approximately $50.00. DUI Arrest – On Sunday, November 27, 2016, at 10:14 p.m., Officer Charles May conducted a traffic stop on Alpine Street near Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 38-year-old Jennifer R. Bernard of Lakeside Drive North in Forked River, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Exhibit Registration and Failure to Give Proper Signal.
