Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. CDS/Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, April 18, 2019, Officer Anthony Sarno responded to a call for a suspicious female in the back seat of a vehicle at Serpentine Drive, Forked River residence. The female, Lauren Hartman, appeared to be under the influence of a chemical inhalant and was placed under arrest. Hartman was also found to have a no-bail criminal warrant issued by Middlesex County Superior Court. She was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. Shoplifting – On Friday, April 19, 2019, Officer Anthony Sarno and Officer Michael Hutman responded to Walmart for a shoplifter in custody. Devon Horvath, of Pine Beach, was placed under arrest for concealing $760.48 worth of merchandise in her purse. Devon was transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility in accordance with bail reform. Burglary/Vehicle - On Friday, April 19, 2019, Officer Michael Baldasari and Officer Anthony Sarno responded the Spring Oaks Assisted Living. An employee reported when she went to walk to her vehicle in the parking lot she observed a male subject inside her vehicle. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Project Medicine Drop Box – Lacey Walmart – Saturday, April 27, 2019
On Saturday, April 27, 2019, the Lacey Township Police Department will be bringing our portable Project Medicine (Prescription Drug) Drop-box to the Lacey Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. The medicine drop box provides our residents with a method to properly dispose of unwanted medication in a safe and legal manner. Please note that no syringes or liquids may be dropped in the box. A Special Police Officer will be on site with the Project Medicine Drop Box and will be located inside the Lacey Walmart, between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Please come and drop off your unwanted medication. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – Tomorrow – April 24, 2019
Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – The Lacey Township Police Department is hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House on Route 9 and Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, this Wednesday (tomorrow), April 24, 2019. The event will be held rain or shine from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will be on site to conduct a courtesy child seat inspection of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installation of child seats. The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety. Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed. Technicians will assist not only in the inspection of the seats, but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation. The event is being hosted by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Inspections are expected to take approximately 20 minutes per vehicle. Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 10:17 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Bay Way and Maple Road in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 53-year-old Gorden Rodmell of Windward Drive in Barnegat, NJ, on an outstanding Hamilton Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $300. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Gorden Rodmell was released after posting bail. In addition, he received a traffic summons for Driving with a Suspended License. Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, March 30, 2017, at 1:43 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Wendy’s, located at 301 Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Filberto Sacramento of Pheasant Drive in Bayville, NJ, for Possession of Oxycodone, Clonazepam and Drug Paraphernalia. Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 6:19 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the 500 block of North Shore Drive in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The victim reported that between March 21, 2017 and March 22, 2017, a 21” Toshiba flat-screen television with a built-in DVD player was stolen from her residence. The caller suspects that someone who might have had access to the residence may have stolen the television. There were no signs of forced entry and the incident remains under investigation. The TV is valued at $175. Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 12:11 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Brick Avenue and Western Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 32-year-old Kevin A. Baranow, of Attison Avenue in South Toms River, NJ, on an outstanding Colts Neck Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $528. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Shoplifting – On Friday, March 17, 2017, at 12:54 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 47-year-old Michelle Weygand of Montauk Road in Forked River for shoplifting merchandise valued at $83. She was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Michelle Weygand was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting. Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 9:38 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to Police Headquarters for a Criminal Mischief report. The victim reported that between the overnight hours of March 15, 2017 into March 16, 2017, an unknown person or persons damaged the driver’s side mirror on his vehicle that was parked on the 700 block of Baldwin Street in Forked River. The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $50. Fire (Vehicle) – On Monday, March 13, 2017, at 10:45 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the 200 block of Donald Street in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a vehicle fire.
