Lacey Police asks for the public’s assistance
The Lacey Township Police Department is seeking help from the public. The unidentified, adult male pictured below is suspected in the daytime theft of a motor vehicle. The vehicle, a white Ford van, was stolen from the rear of Medicine to Go, 524 Lacey Road, on Monday, February 3, 2020. The van exited the parking lot and traveled west on Lacey Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective Keith Pearce at (609) 693-6636, x2561.
Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – LTPD Begins Body Worn Camera Program – February 4, 2020
The above photo depicts the body worn camera (BWC) that will be worn by our uniformed Police Officers. The body worn camera (BWC) program will begin Tuesday, February 4th, 2020. The Lacey Township Police Department has made a promise to serve our community with honor and integrity in order to maintain your confidence in our organization. In continuing that promise, we are pleased to announce that we will be implementing the use of Body Worn Cameras (BWC) for our department. The program will begin tomorrow morning, February 4th, 2020. All uniformed Sergeants and Police Officers assigned to the Patrol Division will be wearing body worn cameras and recording interactions with the public when carrying out official duties. The use of the body worn cameras will be another tool available to assist our police officers while performing their duties. There are several positive aspects of the body worn camera program, including, but not limited to: Being a transparent police department. This helps create additional trust between the community and our agency. Protects our police officers and the public from false claims. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Coffee With a Cop – Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2020, 6am to 10am
The Lacey Township Police Department's Coffee with a Cop event, will take place at the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River on Friday, February 14th, 2020 (Valentine's Day). The event will begin at 6:00 a.m. and conclude at 10:00 a.m. Stop by and enjoy some free coffee and conversation with Lacey Township Police Officers. In addition to coffee, the first 100 Coffee with a Cop patrons will receive a free Valentine's Day donut provided by Wawa. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 20th through April 26th 2018
Drug Arrest — On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 4:03 p.m., Lacey Township Police Detectives arrested 35-year-old Lawrence J. Robertiello of Rachel Court, Brick, NJ, and 34-year-old Andrew G. Lupton of Penn Avenue, Forked River, in the parking lot of Wawa, 800 Lacey Road, Forked River for possession of Heroin. Lawrence Robertiello was processed and charged with Distribution of CDS (Heroin) and Possession of CDS. Andrew Lupton was processed and charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Both subjects were released on a criminal summons. DUI Arrest — On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 5:41 p.m., Officers Andrew Slota and Alan Abrecht responded to the area of Bamber Lake near Dover Rd and Smith Road for a report of a male in a black colored pickup truck slumped over the wheel. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 47-year-old Adam Robles of Beaver Avenue, Whiting, NJ, for DUI. Adam Robles was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was issued summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. His vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. **Fire–Lacey Township Middle School–April 24, 2018**
Fire – On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 6:39 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Department received a report of a fire alarm activation at the Lacey Township Middle School, 660 Denton Avenue in Forked River, NJ. Upon arrival, a small fire was located in a second floor (science classroom) which activated the fire sprinkler system in that classroom. It appeared that the fire may have started in a terrarium within the classroom. The Forked River Fire Department along with the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department extinguished the remainder of the fire, which was isolated to a small portion of the classroom. Minimal fire and smoke damage was reported, however as a result of the sprinkler system activation, there was a significant amount of water in the classroom and the surrounding areas that needed to be cleaned. No students were present at the school at the time of the fire. All of the middle school students and faculty had to be diverted to the Lacey Township High School where the teachers and staff were awaiting their arrival. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 13 through April 19, 2018
Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 6:14 p.m., Officer Elton Copes conducted an investigation involving a hit and run motor vehicle accident that occurred in the parking lot of the Lacey Mall, located at 348 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. The investigation led to the arrest of 50-year-old Kevin R. Tice of Enterprise Drive in Forked River, on an outstanding Newark Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $100. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed. Kevin R. Tice was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date. In addition, he also received traffic summonses for Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident and Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Accident. Theft – On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 12:18 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to Lacey Self Storage, located on Old Shore Road in Forked River, for a report of theft. The victim reported that between April 15 and April 18, 2018, an unknown person or persons removed the catalytic converter from his 2004 Georgie Boy Recreational Vehicle that was parked on the east side of the facility along a chain link fence.
