Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – 2020 Lacey Twp. Memorial Day Parade Cancelled.
Memorial Day Parade Cancelled - Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the New Jersey Executive Orders, the Lacey Township 2020 Memorial Day Parade and Bicentennial Park service have been cancelled. Lacey Township Veterans Commission Chairman Bernard Snyder advised they will be contacting all of the involved organizations to come up with a future date to hold the memorial services. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 30th through May 7th, 2020
MV Accident- On Thursday, April 30, 2020, at 4:00 p.m., officers responded to a wooded area near Eno’s Park in reference to an injury. Officers discovered that two juveniles riding a quad lost control and collided with a tree. Both victims were transported to hospitals for non-threatening injuries. Arrest- On the afternoon of Friday, May 1, 2020, detectives arrested Jeni McDaniel in reference to a theft. The case originated on March 15, 2020 when a Forked River resident reported losing her purse and wallet at TJ Maxx. The investigation revealed that McDaniel was responsible for removing the purse and it's contents from the store after finding it ultimately leading to her arrest. In addition to the criminal charge of theft, McDaniel was wanted by three jurisdictions including Lacey, Trenton, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for outstanding warrants. The warrants totaled $6,000. McDaniel was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. DWI- On Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 8:25 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Challenger Way. During the stop, the driver was determined to be under the influence and arrested. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Please Lock Your Cars – Vehicle Burglaries – May 7, 2020
During the past few weeks, the Lacey Township Police Department has received numerous reports of car burglaries. As a reminder, please ensure that your vehicles are locked when not occupied, especially during the overnight hours. Additionally, valuables should not be left inside your vehicles. Thank you.

Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 12:17 a.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Scott Keefe located a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Wawa, located on Laurel Avenue and Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, 34-year-old Lauren Keller of Seaside Park, NJ, on two outstanding Paterson Municipal Court warrants with bail totaling $1000, along with a Hunterdon County No Bail Warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Lauren Keller was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident. Fraud – On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 1:01 p.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The 73-year-old woman reported that she sold a painting on line for $210. The buyer sent her a cashier’s check for $1965. At the request of the buyer, she cashed the check and agreed to send the buyer back the difference of $1755 using an app by the name of Zelle. Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 8:38 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road in the Ocean First Bank parking lot. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 44-year-old David Sikora, of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, on an outstanding Beachwood Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $200. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. David Sikora was later released on his own recognizance. Trespassing and Warrant Arrest – On Monday, January 21, 2019, at 8:22 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and Patrick Watkins responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a suspicious incident. A male subject climbed the fence and kicked open the door in the garden center setting off the alarm. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 33-year-old Roger J. Hanson of Nautilus Drive in Waretown, NJ, for Trespassing. In addition, he was found to have an outstanding Atlantic City Municipal Court warrant with a bail amount of $500. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 11 through January 17, 2019
Motor Vehicle Crash (Vehicle vs. Pole) – On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 8:45 p.m., Sergeant George Resetar, along with Officers Martin Julian and Jason Lee, responded to Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a vehicle that struck a utility pole. The top of the utility pole was engulfed in flames, causing a power outage in the area. Upon arrival, both the driver and the passenger had exited the vehicle. The 20-year-old female passenger from Lanoka Harbor, was transported by helicopter to the Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The 20 year-old driver from Tuckerton, NJ, was not injured. JCP&L was notified and power was restored after a brief period. Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 2:58 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Sheffield Drive in Forked River in reference to a motor vehicle burglary. The owner of the vehicle reported that an unknown person(s) entered her unlocked vehicle that parked in her driveway. The owner reported that an orange flashlight and keys valued at $20 were stolen.
