Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Neighborhood Crime Alert – Sunday, May 5, 2013 – Georgetown Lane, Lanoka Harbor
Criminal Mischief - Between 5:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, residents of Georgetown Lane in Lanoka Harbor reported repeated acts of criminal mischief being committed by at least two teenage males. One of the callers stated she heard the sound of objects hitting the residence and when she looked outside, she observed two teenage males with dark clothing running from the area. The teenage subjects were both described as white males. One had a stocky build and the other has a thin build (no further description). The teenage males fled toward Musket Drive. Another resident reported that a large rock was thrown at the front door at his residence causing approximately $200 in damage to the door. The homeowner reported observing a group of juveniles in the area with two of them fitting the description of the juveniles from the other incident. The juveniles were no longer in the area when the matter was reported to the police department.
Neighborhood Crime Alert (Burglary) – Saturday, May 4, 2013 – Holbrooke Drive, Forked River
Burglary of Home - At 1:22 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, a resident of Holbrooke Drive within the Seabreeze development in Forked River (Near the GSP) reported a daytime residential burglary. Sometime between the hour-long period of 12:20 p.m. and 1:20 p.m., unknown persons forced their way through the locked front door and committed a theft of cash from within the residence during a brief period the homeowners were not home. The scene has been processed with the assistance of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU). The matter is under active investigation. . New Stealth Enforcement Vehicles - The Lacey Township Police Department has now implemented the use of a newly designed "stealth" patrol vehicle for the uniformed officers of the department. Currently, two vehicles are ready for patrol. They are specifically designed for enhance enforcement capabilities to assist with traffic safety as well as neighborhood crime detection patrols. Although they have all of the safety equipment that makes a patrol vehicle prominent on the roadway, these newly designed vehicles tend to go undetected until after an aggressive driver or law violator has committed to their unlawful/dangerous act(s). Officers utilizing the new vehicles have reported experiencing aggressive and dangerous drivers who speed by them or cut them off, etc., believing they are just any other Ford Explorer on the roadway. Of course, the aggressive driver quickly realizes otherwise once they take a closer look. Once the very bright and pronounced emergency lights are activated, there is no stealth aspect to the vehicles. The new stealth vehicles are all-wheel-drive and are power by a 290 horse power 6 cylinder engine that gets far better gas mileage than the traditional 4-wheel-drive patrol trucks utilized by the department.
