Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weather Update – Lacey Township Police Department/Office of Emergency Management – Coastal Flood Warning
*** Coastal Flood Warning *** The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for 7am Monday morning, February 1st, 2021 through 5pm Tuesday evening, February 2, 2021. * WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Middlesex, Western Monmouth, Eastern Monmouth, Ocean, Coastal Ocean and Southeastern Burlington. * WHEN...From 7 AM Monday to 5 PM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS A Coastal Flood Warning means that moderate or major tidal flooding is occurring or imminent. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs. *** The National Weather Service Has Issued the Below Winter Storm Watch *** A WINTER STORM WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING, JANUARY 31st THROUGH LATE MONDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 1, 2021 * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 11 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. *WHERE...Portions of central, northern and southern New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania. * WHEN...From Sunday evening through late Monday night. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop west to east late Sunday and last through late Monday or early Tuesday. A period of wintry mix or rain could occur Sunday night and Monday morning, especially along and near the coast, before turning back to snow Monday evening. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 21, 2021 through January 28, 2021
Theft- On Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10:41 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to a local church in Lanoka Harbor for report of a theft. It was reported that a motor vehicle on the premises had the catalytic converter removed. The value for the loss and damage is estimated at $1,500. Investigation is ongoing. Shoplifting- On Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 6:51 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Walmart and met with Loss Prevention in reference to a theft. It was determined that Cheryl Rizzo, 65, had concealed merchandise and attempted to exit the store without payment. Rizzo was arrested and charged with Shoplifting. Rizzo was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance. Shoplifting- On Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 7:47 p.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to Walmart and met with Loss Prevention in reference to a theft. It was determined that Brian Varner, 50, had attempted to exit the store without payment for merchandise. Varner was arrested and charged with Shoplifting. Varner was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 12th through November 19th, 2020
Fraud- On Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 1:18 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota was dispatched to a Lanoka Harbor residence in reference to fraud. The victim reported that she received an email from “Defender Firewall” regarding a $299 purchase that she did not authorize. When she contacted the attached phone number she was told that her account was accidently reimbursed $2,999 and asked to refund the difference by purchasing gift cards. The amount of $2,999 was never credited to the victim’s bank account. DWI- On Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 8:36 a.m., Officer John Simonson was dispatched to Route 539 for a disabled vehicle. While speaking with the driver, Anastasia Zosko, it was determined that she was under the influence. Zosko was placed under arrest and ultimately released on her own recognizance pending a Court appearance. She was issued summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving. Theft- On Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 11:35 a.m., Officer Matthew D’Antonio met with a business owner from the Lacey Business Park. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 5th through November 12th, 2020
DWI- On Friday, November 6, 2020, at 10:25 p.m., Officers Bruce Carver and Anthony Ravallo were dispatched to 7- Eleven on Lacey Road for an intoxicated subject. Prior to their arrival, the subject drove from the parking lot and was stopped on Lacey Road. The driver, John Sanabia, 52, was deemed under the influence and arrested. Sanabia was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Submit to Breath Tests. Arrest- On Sunday, November 8, 2020, at 12:12 a.m., Officer Bruce Carver was dispatched to Wawa, 701 Route 9, for a suspicious male in the bathroom. Officer Carver identified the subject as Joseph Izquierdo, 35, of Egg Harbor Township. During the interaction, an active warrant was located for Izquierdo leading to his arrest. Search incident to his arrest led to the discovery of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Izquierdo was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility after being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 29th through November 5th, 2020
DWI- On Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 6:01 p.m., Officer Bruce Carver conducted a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road. During the stop it was determined that the driver, Francis Magliola, was under the influence. Magliola, 52, was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Signal. He was released pending a Court appearance. Downed Wires- On Monday, November 2, 2020, at 10:21 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Manchester Avenue and Shrike Court in reference to electrical wires in the street. Traffic was detoured for approximately one hour while power was restored. Fraud- On Monday, November 2, 2020, at 4:34 p.m., Officer Jason Lee met with a Forked River resident in reference to fraud. The caller reported that he purchased a vehicle part that he found posted on Facebook Market Place. Shortly after the purchase, the seller deleted the account and the victim was not able to make further contact with the seller. The purchase amount was $2,050.
