Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. (UPDATE) Community Event – Fireworks have been Rescheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2014 – Lacey Township High School
(UPDATE) Community Event - Fireworks Display - Due to the latest weather reports indicating possible severe weather this evening (7-3-14), the Lacey Township fireworks display has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2014, at dusk on the grounds of the Lacey Township High School. Entertainment will begin on site at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks will begin thereafter at dusk (approx. 9 pm). The Lacey Township Police Department, fire departments, and first aid squads will be working to maintain a safe event and to facilitate traffic before, during, and after the event. Throughout the summer, the Lacey Township Police Department will be strictly enforcing the state law prohibiting possession and use of illegal fireworks. The department commonly receives more than one hundred calls of complaints from residents regarding the illegal use of fireworks during the summer months.

Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release June 24th, 2014 thru June 30th, 2014 . . DUI (Arrest) - On Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 4:52 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas responded to the area of Lakeside Drive North and Kearney Drive in Forked River in reference to a report of a driver passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer Tsarnas observed a GMC Suburban along the roadway with the flashers activated. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, later identified as 42-year-old Michael Clark of Tappan Street in Forked River appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat with the vehicle’s engine running. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Michael Clark for DUI. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Michael Clark was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and was issued traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Open Container of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle. Neighborhood Crime Alert (Drug Distribution Arrests) – Lacey Township Police Department – Friday, June 27, 2014
Heroin Possession and Distribution (Arrests) - On Thursday, June 26, 2014, detectives from the Lacey Township Police Department completed an investigation into the distribution of Heroin from 100 Clearwater Drive in Forked River. The investigation was initiated on Friday, June 6, 2014, after Lacey patrol officers and paramedics responded to the home for an apparent Heroin overdose. The investigation during the weeks that followed led to a traffic stop on Trenton Avenue in Forked River on Thursday, June 26, 2014, where the target of the drug distribution investigation, 51-year-old Robert Zaug of 100 Clearwater Drive in Forked River, was a passenger in the vehicle. During the motor vehicle stop, Robert Zaug was arrested on two outstanding traffic warrants issued separately by the Lacey Township Municipal Court and Evesham Township Municipal Court. Detectives located 196 bags containing Heroin along with Alprazolam (Xanax) hidden in the dash where Zaug was seated. The driver of the vehicle, 52-year-old George Boustania of 103 Cayuga Road in Barnegat, was also arrested. Robert Zaug was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Alprazolam (Xanax), and Intent to Distribute Heroin.
