Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release August 26th, thru September 1st, 2014 . . Theft and Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, August 31, 2014, at 11:07 a.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the 400 block of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim reported that between the overnight hours of Saturday, August 30th into Sunday, August 31st, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered the garage and stole three bicycles with a total value of $1,200. In addition, eggs were thrown at the residence. Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 12:55 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller responded to Gille Park, located at 56 Manchester Avenue in Forked River, for criminal mischief. A representative from the Lacey Pride Lacrosse Club stated that between Friday, August 15th and Friday, August 29th, 2014, an unknown person or persons damaged four Lacrosse nets with damage estimated at $500. Warrant Arrest – On Friday, August 29, 2014, at 2:26 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was speaking with 48-year-old Jeffrey Parker of Chestnut Street in Forked River on Spruce Street in Lanoka Harbor during an unrelated investigation. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release August 19th, thru August 25th, 2014 . . Theft from a Vehicle - On Monday, August 25, 2014, at 8:06 a.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that on the morning of August 22, 2014, his unlocked vehicle was entered while it was parked in the parking lot of Manhatten Bagel, located at 336 Lacey Road in Forked River. Stolen from the vehicle was a handicapped placard valued at $5. Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, August 24, 2014, at 11:38 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas conducted a motor vehicle stop of a subject believed to have an active warrant. Officer Tsarnas confirmed that the driver, 33-year-old Jesse Betterly of West Water Street in Barnegat, NJ, had an active $100 traffic warrant out of Toms River Township Municipal Court. Jesse Betterly was placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting full bail. Lacey Township Class II Special Officer Travis Horton (Certified Child Seat Technician) assisting a resident Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspections (Saturday, August 23, 2014) - The Lacey Township Police Department, with the assistance of members of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department and the Manchester Township Police Department, conducted courtesy child seat safety inspections for dozens of parents and grandparents. The event was held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department building on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. Participants were provided information on the proper installation and use of child seats by specially trained and certified child seat technicians.
