Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter May 5th thru May 11th, 2015 . . Motor Vehicle Accident (Detour) - On Monday, May 11, 2015 at 9:01 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Laurel Boulevard involving a single vehicle which veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The impact caused the pole to snap at the base. The pole was located on the eastbound side of Laurel Boulevard across from the intersection of Basin Road. The 23-year-old female driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not injured. The utility pole needed emergent repair as low hanging electrified wires caused an unsafe condition. Officers detoured Laurel Boulevard traffic at Birch Road as well as Basin Road with west bound traffic being detoured through a portion of Laurel Harbor Marina to avoid the Basin Road intersection. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Utility repairs continued throughout the day into the night and the early morning hours. The roadway opened at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Weekly Police Blotter April 28th thru May 4th, 2015 . . . Theft from a Business (Burglary) – On Monday, May 4, 2015, at 5:12 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to 630 Lacey Road in Forked River for a report of an unlawful entry of the building with items missing. The business, the Law Offices of Himber & Stark, was reported to have been entered between Saturday, May 2, 2015 and Sunday, May 3, 2015. Items reported stolen included a surfboard as well as numerous business and trust account checks. Entry was believed to have been made at the rear portion of the building where windows screens and a sliding door were damaged. The incident is currently under investigation. Shoplifting - On Monday, May 4, 2015 at 4:10 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Wawa store at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River reference a shoplifting incident. The store employee reported that she had just completed a return for a customer who returned a pack of Marlboro Light cigarettes for a refund. The transaction was completed and the clerk returned $8.06 in cash to the customer. Weekly Police Blotter April 23rd thru 27th, 2015 . . . Theft – On Monday, April 27, 2015, at 10:02 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the 1700 block of Pineview Road in Forked River for a theft. The victim reported that between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on April 27, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole her basketball net valued at $400 from the front yard of the residence. The basketball net was described as having a clear backboard with white and blue tape on it. A silver or white pickup truck with a basketball net in the back was seen driving in the area during the time of the theft. Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, April 27, 2015, at 11:42 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for an adult female shoplifter who fled the store. Loss Prevention reported that the adult female shoplifted $263.65 worth of merchandise and when confronted near the exit she fled the store. Officer Nick conducted an investigation and identified the adult female as 32-year-old Kimberly A. Croman of Halsey Ave in Bayville, NJ. Officer Nick contacted her and arranged to meet with [...]
