Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Crime Alert (Strong Arm Robbery) – Lacey Township Police Department – Friday, June 26, 2015
Strong Arm Robbery - On Friday, June 26, 2015, at 8:48 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the Walmart for a report of a shoplifting incident involving an assault. It was reported that a Walmart Loss Prevention employee observed a white male, approximately 6' 1" tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair shoplifting merchandise. The employee reportedly approached the suspect as the suspect exited the store. The suspect then reportedly punched the loss prevention employee in the face and fled on foot. The male suspect was last observed running across Route 9 into the wooded area adjacent to the Spring Oak Assisted Living prior to police being notified. Officers responded to the area and conducted a search of the wooded area. The Ocean County Sheriff's Department responded with a K-9 and conducted a search as well with negative results. Prior to committing the physical assault, the suspect was believed to be in the process of shoplifting a $6.00 item. The suspect depicted in the photo (from store surveillance) has not been identified as of the time of this posting. Weekly Police Blotter June 16th thru June 22nd, 2015 . Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Monday, June 22, 2015, at 11:54 p.m., Officers John D. Simonson and Anthony Sarno responded to the 200 block of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious vehicle. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Joseph Bombardier, Jr. of Tuyahov Boulevard in Toms River for Possession of Marijuana. Joseph Bombardier, Jr. was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana. Theft – On Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 7:23 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to police headquarters for a report of theft. The victim reported that between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on June 20, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole her Samsung Galaxy S6 cellular phone from the hostess stand at the Captain’s Inn, 304 East Lacey Road in Forked River, where she kept it while working. The cell phone is valued at approximately $800. Weekly Police Blotter June 9th thru June 15th, 2015 . Criminal Mischief and Traffic Collision – On Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 9:47 p.m., Sergeant Robert Flynn, along with Officers Patrick Watkins and George Resetar, responded to the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Anchor Drive in Forked River for a road rage incident resulting in a motor vehicle crash. An investigation at the scene determined that just prior to the crash, Driver #2, identified as 77-year-old Dale Pierson of Forked River, believed he was being followed by the vehicle behind him, and as a result, reportedly conducted a U-turn on Sunrise Boulevard in an attempt to flee the other vehicle (Vehicle #1). The other vehicle was being driven by 27-year-old Nicholas Blaszka of Forked River who was on the phone with police headquarters reporting the driver of Vehicle #2 as an erratic driver. As Dale Pierson was in his U-turn, the vehicle being operated by Nicholas Blaszka stopped and had begun to back up, and while doing so, impacted the passenger side of Vehicle #2. After the crash, Dale Pierson reportedly exited his vehicle, approached Vehicle #1, and reportedly began punching the driver’s side door causing damage estimated at $200.
