Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Lacey OEM Update – Hurricane Joaquin – Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
Hurricane Joaquin - The Lacey Township Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring the progression of Hurricane Joaquin and the continuing changes in the weather projections for the expected path of the storm. Throughout today and through the weekend, OEM will be working with the local and county emergency service and support organizations to ensure that appropriate staffing and resources are available should the hurricane impact this area. Currently, we are expecting heavy rains and 40+ mph winds over the next two days well in advance of the storm which is not projected to reach this area until late Sunday, October 4th into Monday, October 5th, 2015. As with any weather projection, changes in the forecasts are likely to occur as the storm progresses. Since July, we have worked diligently with all of the emergency and support organizations to thoroughly review and update each of the emergency operations plans for Lacey Township. Our standard operations planning accounts for all equipment to be maintained in a state of operational readiness for rapid deployment and use. Weekly Police Blotter September 15th thru September 22nd, 2015 . Traffic Accident with DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 8:33 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the intersection of Lacey Road and Route 9 for a two vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that vehicle number one was stopped in traffic southbound on Route 9 when the rear of the vehicle was struck by vehicle number two. A further investigation at the scene led to the arrest of driver number two, identified as 43-year-old Sean Gurski of Radcliffe Road in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Sean Gurski was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. There were no injuries reported. Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 6:58 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins conducted a traffic stop on Oak Lane near Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 52-year-old Nancy Sabias of Prospect Avenue in Fairview, NJ, on an outstanding Fort Lee Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $139.
