Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – Wednesday, December 21, 2016, 4pm to 7pm
Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – The Lacey Township Police Department is hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House on Route 9 and Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016. The event will be held rain or shine from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will be on site to conduct a courtesy child seat inspection of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installation of child seats. The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety. Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed. Technicians, will assist not only in the inspection of the seats but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation. The event is being hosted by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Shoplifting - On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, Officer Michael Baldasari completed a shoplifting investigation, resulting in the arrest of 56-year-old Giacomino Sandella of Oak Hill Court in Lanoka Harbor. The shoplifting occurred on November 3, 2016, at the Wawa, located at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River. During the incident Giacomino Sandella shoplifted merchandise valued at $31.69 before fleeing the store. He was processed, charged, and released on a complaint summons for Shoplifting. Criminal Mischief (Residence) - On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 7:41 p.m., Officer Robert Duffy responded to the 1000 block of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on December 13, 2016, an unknown person or persons cut electrical wiring for her Christmas Lights. The damage is estimated at $10.00. Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 6:47 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 400 block of Penn Avenue North in Forked River, for a theft report. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of December 13th, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered two unlocked vehicles that were parked in the driveway and stole property. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – 2016 Officer of the Year Award – December 15, 2016
The above picture depicts Detective Keith Pearce (right) as he receives the 2016 Officer of the Year Award, during the Lacey Township Police Department's First Annual Awards Ceremony, held at the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department. On Friday evening, December 9th, 2016, the Lacey Township Police Department held its First Annual Awards Ceremony at the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department. The Awards Ceremony was sponsored and supported by the Lacey Police Department PBA/SOA, and acknowledged those officers who were nominated throughout the year to receive awards. This year awards were issued to Officers Anthony Sarno, Christopher Meyler, Julie Barcalow, and Scott Keefe, for their actions involving a residential structure fire on Serpentine Drive in Forked River, on November 25, 2016. These Officers, along with members of the Forked River Fire Department, helped save the life of an 81-year-old female who was trapped inside the residence. I couldn't be more proud of everyone involved, including our volunteer firefighters, who truly are an asset to Lacey Township. In addition, Detective Keith Pearce received the "2016 Officer of the Year Award." Detective Pearce was hired by the Lacey Township Police Department in 1996 and spent the first 19 years of his career assigned to the Patrol Division until being transferred to the Detective Bureau in 2015.
