Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 17th through February 23rd, 2017
Theft - On Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 2:57 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 1700 block of Sommerell Avenue in Forked River, for a report of a stolen bicycle. The complainant reported that between 4:00 p.m. on February 18, 2017 and 3:00 p.m. on February 21, 2017, an unknown person or persons stole their unsecured bicycle from the yard of the residence. The bicycle is described as a black and pink Mongoose 20” mountain bike valued at $120. Burglary and Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 1:48 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a burglary. The victim reported that between October 2016 and February 21, 2017, an unknown person or persons forced entry into their residence by breaking a rear garage window. Once inside the person or persons rummaged through the residence, however, it is unknown if anything was taken. The damage to the window is estimated at $100. The Lacey Township Police Detective Bureau was notified and the incident remains under investigation. Township News – Lacey Township Police and Recreation Department Open Skate Park Today, February 24, 2017, 2pm to 6pm
The Lacey Township Police Department and the Lacey Township Recreation Department are partnering together today, February 24, 2017, to open the Gille Park skate park, due to the warm weather. The skate park will be open to Lacey Township residents today from 2:00 p.m., to 6:00 p.m. The skate park is specifically for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted at this time. All users are required to wear a helmet in the skate park at all times, and follow all of the posted skate park rules. Bottled water will be permitted in the park. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – Tomorrow, February 15th, 2017
Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – The Lacey Township Police Department is hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House on Route 9 and Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, tomorrow, February 15, 2017. The event will be held rain or shine from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will be on site to conduct a courtesy child seat inspection of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installation of child seats. The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety. Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed. Technicians, will assist not only in the inspection of the seats but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation. The event is being hosted by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Inspections are expected to take approximately 20 minutes per vehicle. – Chief Michael C. DiBella
