Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – March 3rd through March 9th, 2017
Theft of Handgun – On Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 8:56 a.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the 600 block of Forest Lane, Forked River, for a report of a stolen handgun. Investigation at the scene revealed that the complainant was moving his firearms to a new location in his home and discovered that a handgun along with a magazine was missing from one of his gun cases. The case still contained one magazine, a weapon lock and the owner’s manual. The missing handgun is described as a semi-automatic 9 millimeter Springfield XD MOD.2 series, black in color. The complainant advised that he last saw the gun sometime in December of 2016 and he did not discover it missing until this March 9, 2017. The handgun was entered into NCIC, APBnet and distributed to all local law enforcement agencies. House Fire – On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 11:02 p.m., Officer Martin Julian responded to the 900 block of Clifton Street, Forked River, for a report of a structure fire. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Lacey Township Lock Box Program – March 10th, 2017
The above picture depicts Chief Michael C. DiBella and 16-year-old Girl Scout Erin Foreman from Lacey Township shortly after she presented her lock box program to the Lacey Township Committee during last evening's Township meeting. After presenting her lock box program, Erin Foreman officially handed the program over to the Lacey Township Police Department. The Lacey Township Police Department is proud to announce our Lacey Lock Box Program. This lock box program was coordinated by 16-year-old Erin Foreman of Lacey Township. Erin is a girl scout and has been working toward her Gold Award (Similar level as a Boy Scout Eagle Scout). Erin volunteered over 80 hours preparing this program, including meeting and presenting this program to numerous organizations in Lacey Township. This included the Pheasant Run Community, the Rotary Club of Forked River, and the Municipal Alliance Senior luncheon. In addition, Erin presented her program to the Lacey Township Governing body this past evening (March 9th, 2017). Erin designed the idea for the Lacey Police website link, which included the on-line printable application. Erin received over 70 lock boxes from donations alone. Township News – Lacey Township Red Night Out, This Friday, March 10th, 2017, 6pm, Lacey High School Auditorium
RED NIGHT OUT Friday, March 10th, 2017 - Lacey Township High School Auditorium, 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor - 6:00 p.m. Lacey Township's Task Force is hosting Red Night Out at the Lacey Township High School this Friday, March 10th, 2017, with information tables opening at 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Presentations will follow, beginning in the auditorium at 7:00 p.m. The Lacey Township Police Department informational tables will include information on the Police Explorer program and the 2017 Junior Police Academy. In addition, Detective Lieutenant Christopher Cornelius will have an informational display on hand and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office will be providing Child ID. In addition, dinner will be provided starting at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria for those who register by March 8th. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. Furthermore, child care will be available in the gymnasium during the event to those who register by March 8th. To register for dinner and child care please call 609-693-1100 ext. 2203. The Ocean County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a Police K-9 demonstration and a Drone demonstration in the gymnasium during the Kids Night Out.
